DuckTales (2017)
It's Growing on Me
I'm a HUGE fan of the Disney version of DuckTales. Never liked the Carl Barks comics. In all fairness, Disney is sometimes TOO HAPPY. So, adding an actual little darkness has got me hooked. I like that this version has the balance of light and dark.
The Disney version was in some ways, a little too light for me at times.
The darker tone along with the lightness makes you want to re-watch.
I love the relationship of Huey, Dewey, and Louie and Webby better here. I love that the boys are helping Webby instead of pushing her away and then slowly getting used to her. Overall, I think it'll grow on me.
I do like the fact that Scrooge has a bit of a dark side maybe on this one.
I will continue to watch.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1987)
I was amazed.
I'm amazed at how toned down this version is. I've enjoyed some episodes so far. I actually love the relationship between the brothers here than I do in the 2003 version. There's more, "I love you," and "I need you" emotion within their 80s incarnation. I really liked that.
I love a good show with a true family vibe.
April O'Neal's 80s incarnation kind of bugs me though.
I like her 2003 incarnation better.
I like that the Ninja Turtles seem more relaxed in being a ninja and protecting people.
Their 2003 incarnation seemed like they were trying too hard.
DuckTales (1987)
A Cartoon That is Special To Me
I loved this cartoon. The nephews were such an inspiration for me (: I'm glad that they grew from being in Donald Duck's show to having one of their own. I loved this WAY BETTER than Donald Duck's cartoons where they were just a bit part.
I didn't care too much for Webbigail Vanderquack, but she added something with the nephews.
I'm a little nervous about this TV show's reboot.
I am actually curious and hoping that they'd maybe have romance between her and the nephews.
Either way, I'm hoping it doesn't make it to where I don't want to watch it ):
I'll always go back and watch Ducktales even if the reboot does disappoint. Well, Ducktales will always be special to me and have a place in my heart. Every time I see ducks, I think of Huey, Dewey and Louie (:
