Kelce (2023)
Great Inside Look at an Athlete's Balance of Family and Football
This documentary was a heartwarming look at the Kielce brothers' families, their history, and their lives as professional football players. It was a very human approach showing them in everyday lives without the glamor, including struggles. It was sad to see the constant pain the players face, especially as they get older. Jason Kelce's wife, Kylie, is such a hoot and his girls are adorable. This really shows their close brotherhood as well as the unwavering support from the Kelce parents as the boys grew up. I'm not much of a sports enthusiast; yet I really enjoyed learning about the Kelce brothers.
Bull: Goodbye (2022)
Should Have Been a Smarter Ending
I get that the show had to end; actors want to move on at some point. To me this ending misrepresented what had previously been vary smart, resourceful characters. The body search, the planting of a the treasure clue, all the secret conversations in open office spaces, Bull tracking down the witness. Seriously? If you are going to break the most basic legal responsibility, clandestine would be the way to go.
And then Jason completely violating his client and the jury process? His leaving the firm won't be enough to salvage TACs reputation, and the plaintiff is going to sue them all! Then, discovery in that civil suit likely leads right to a trail of phone calls, borrowed equipment; midnight car trips to the murder site, etc. That suggest culpability of far more than just Bull.
I wanted a smart, surprising solution that took care of the bad guy and maintained the team's integrity.
I thought with Bull's "conversation" with his dead professor/mentor in a previous episode and one of his former clients surfacing, Bull would solve this in some unexpected way and decide to leave it all and return to private practice and/or teaching in the field of psychiatry (another field where client confidentiality is sacrosanct).
This was a sad, stupid ending for me.
That being said, it was a good show for 6 years and I appreciate the entertainment it provided.
I Care a Lot (2020)
I hate I wasted 2 hours on this
There were parts of it I really liked. Female villain was a nice twist. The story was so implausible. And then the ending made me want to throw the remote against the wall. I wanted there to be some elegant twist where Jennifer Peterson (Dianne West) has a role in taking Marla down. Dianne West was just completely wasted in this film. Such a shame. So weird - I can't ever recall a movie leaving me enraged. How did I get invested and then felt so ripped off?
The Prom (2020)
Cute movie
Nice story. I really enjoy the core actor it's, and fun to see them signing. Nicole Kidman and Meryl Streep are particular favorites. Very upbeat show.
Rambo: Last Blood (2019)
Great action plus tugs the heartstrings
Thoroughly enjoyed it. As long ltime Rambo fan, I wasn't expecting much more than over the top action. Got that and more. I really liked the plot.
Mary Poppins Returns (2018)
Fabulous!!
Loved every minute of it. Emily Blunt was perfect!
However, I viewed it as an adult with nostalgic and fond memories of the original Mary Poppins. My daughter (20's) like it but not as impressed. And I think there are parts a young child may find boring. So it's interesting to me that this childhood favorite appears more likely to find it's target audience in the more mature set rather than kids.
Mystery Woman: In the Shadows (2007)
Cute Movie
I enjoy this series and the similar movies made by Kelli Martin. Also great to see Clarence Williams III. I realize it's just a TV movie, but still, it was silly having Samantha (Kelli Martin) wake up after being in the hospital overnight with full makeup. The perfectly combed hair, bright lipstick; and pink eyeshadow were a bit much for an accident victim who had been hit by a car and unconscious in the hospital overnight. A more subtle look old have been nice.
