Mary & George (2024)
A great show that balanced the light & dark of court life
A brilliant episodic historic drama that left you wanting to know more about the characters.
Julianne Moore undoubtedly the star of the show.
Yes it could have been less glam and more gritty but it was a shiny and enjoyable representation of a real story of glamour, sex and influence in the court of King James.
I don't understand some of the negative reviews? This is a post-watershed show of a real life story that hinges on the tangled web of influence between the king, a handsome social climber and his manipulative mother. There was bound to be sex people! I wonder if so many people would be clutching their pearls if young George had been a young Georgina......
The King (2019)
Utter garbage!
This film is utter garbage.
The casting is truly awful. ANYONE else but Chalamet & Pattinson would have done a better job.
The whole film is a rank stab at the audience who love British history and or enjoy Game of Thrones. It fails miserably.
Uncut Gems (2019)
Baffled by the good reviews!!
I am completely and utterly baffled as to how this film has good reviews. Baffled! This is two hours of shouting and not even enjoyable shouting. This film is absolutely terrible
Sanditon (2019)
Simply wonderful
Incredible casting
Beautiful setting
Brilliant series from start to finish
Brawl in Cell Block 99 (2017)
How has this film got such good reviews????
This film is gory GARBAGE
Flimsy plot and exceptionally gory. Utter rubbish.
Russian Doll (2019)
Darkly brilliant
Loved this from start to finish.
Gory in parts (which is not normally my thing) but done in an intelligent way. Not gore for gore's sake.
Don't be put off by Natasha Lyonne's almost caricature-like character, she has to be a huge character at the beginning so that she can be pared down across the episodes.
The Umbrella Academy (2019)
SLOW!!
I love the story of The Umbrella Academy but this tv show really lacks pace & I'm finding it hard to stick with at times.
The casting & characters are excellent but let down by how slow & disjointed the story can be at times. Perhaps this is intentional but it's ineffective.
Also- the Dancing in the Moonlight scene!!! Really!!?? Terrible.
Fyre (2019)
Great documentary of the Fyre fiasco
I'd heard about Fyre in the media but didn't know any of the detail. This doc provides lots of behind the scenes footage, insightful interviews and tells the story really well.
Sharp Objects (2018)
Chilling!
An incredibly chilling psychological thriller with an amazing cast! Best show I've seen for ages!
