McGregor Forever (2023)
Entertaining
A fascinating insight into the live of Conor McGregor. You can't doubt his hunger and drive, and this documentary shows the genuine side to the man. He's actually quite likeable, and not only 100% dedicated to the sport but also his family. He's also driven to being successful in business/his personal wealth. Although he has plenty in the bank, he keeps talking about hitting "his number". Some might call it greedy but I personally admire the drive. If you can why not grab everything you can before it's all over.
However, this documentary covers four fights, and he loses three. If anything it leaves you wondering if his best days are behind him, and he should now just give it up before he's seriously hurt.
Sick (2022)
Got all the cliches you'd expect
This is just another bang average slasher horror movie with a twist of Covid to bring it up to date. The story or should I say motive is a little over the top. Son dies of Covid so the family (Mum, Dad and Son) hunt down and kill the girl that infected him.
Firstly that seems very extreme as we all know it's extremely hard to identify the source of Covid. In this instance their son was at a "F Covid" party. So basically loads of people all drinking, kissing with no mask. Yet somehow this girl was the one that needed to die.
Secondly it's full of all the classic horror cliches that you'd expect but frankly a little tired of seeing. Two girls all alone in a big house in their own. People knocking on the door in the middle of the night. Not only opening the door but also going outside. Finally getting the upper hand on the villain but not quite seeing them off so they can come and kill you. Some extremely fortunate death scenes, people falling on the right thing in just the right position.
I'd say watch it if there's nothing else on but I wouldn't go out of my way. You've seen it all before.
House of the Dragon (2022)
Unbelievably Boring!
I had high hopes for this when I first heard it was coming out. Yet almost from the off I had a bad feeling. The storyline is so boring, to the point where you just don't care what they are talking about. The characters are so uninteresting, that you can't be bothered to take the time to really invest in them. The lighting is so poor that most of the time you are just watching shadows moving around in the pitch black, with no idea about what is going on. The casting is also terrible, Olivia Cook is a good actress, but she's too soft and innocent to pull off a nasty and powerful Queen. Compare her to Lena Headey as Cersei and that is the difference between HOTD vs GOT. Sad to say I stopped watching halfway through as I found myself bored and not caring about what was going on.
Shot in the Dark (2017)
Yeah, not for me.
Thought this might be a really interesting documentary following crime around LA after dark. Instead it's a documentary highlighting the sadistic egos of a bunch of people that seem to get a kick out of being paid for other people's suffering and misery. Getting over excited when they pick up on a radio a car crash or someone involved in a fight that might be drowning. Only to then see the disappointment when said person has been rescued, or the car crash isn't severe enough (i.e. The cars not on fire, because that's what sell!?! WTF)
We turned it off after 2 episodes. Very uncomfortable viewing. To the point where you actually feel guilty wondering why you are watching this.
Sweet Tooth (2021)
What an annoying kid!!
Started off ok, but slowly ground to a halt watching it around episode 4 or 5 (I forget now I'm so uninterested). I actually quite liked the idea of it at the start. However, this kid is super annoying and unable to follow basic instructions. Even though more often than not he's in a life or death situation. This then leaves me questioning why "Big Man" continues to invest so much time in a kid he's just met that's constantly doing the opposite of what he tells him and causing trouble for him, to the point where he's either going to die or get severely beaten up. 99 out of a 100 would have said see ya kid you're on your own!
Supercar Megabuild (2016)
Shocking from start to finish
Gave the first episode a go, as I thought the idea seemed good. That was until we were introduced to Mr Khan. I'm not sure which decade he thinks it is, but his style is so arrogant it becomes almost comical.
However, if you can make it past that to the conclusion of the show and the big reveal you will witness them absolutely ruin a perfectly good Aston Martin. For me that was enough to stop there and move onto something else.
