Party Monster (2003)
This made me obsess
If you are a fan of true crime I strongly advise watching this movie and then do a deep dive as I did after! This story was so interesting to me and the movie had a lovable/quirky vibe that kept it light enough for such serious topics. The YouTube, interviews and documentary after this movie will only surprise you more.
No Exit (2022)
Nothing other to say than average
I left this movie feeling a little unfulfilled. I felt like the ending was missing something or a further resolution. Throughout out the movie I didn't feel much suspense but tension or awkwardness watching the one character in particular. I'm not saying it was bad but there are movies out there more worth your time.
Chaos Walking (2021)
Under baked plot and unnecessary dog murders
I was already bored of the movie with its under developed plot lines but then it left me angry with the dog drowning and even more bored with the multiple unanswered questions.
The Circle (2020)
Addictive!
I just found this on Netflix and didn't realize it was a weekly show. I ended up binging all the episodes they had out and finding myself on the edge of my seat! I am so excited for the next episode! It's like if black mirror made a reality show. I absolutely love it!
Escape Room (2019)
Saw and Cube combined with less gore
Really good! Kept me on my toes. However, you've definitely seen this movie before if you've seen saw or cube. Exact same premise with different execution.
Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile (2019)
Boring, rushed but great acting
The only redeeming quality I believe this movie has is the acting. They never spend more than 1 minute on any one thing in particular. It felt rushed, unexplained and uninteresting. If you knew nothing about Ted Bundy you were be lost.
Roswell, New Mexico (2019)
Not good, but not terrible
As a fan of the original I watched the first episode of the remake. Needless to say they took a few liberties with the storyline like changing almost all of liz's background story. Its not clear if they intended to be a continuation of the story or remake with the same character names, either way it's not bad or that great either. I had high hopes after the end of the original felt rushed, but this first episode comes off confused as to what it wants to be. Again, it's not terrible, most of the acting is good including characters from vampire diaries and the originals. It's a typical CW young adult tv show so if you've seen any other CW show you get what you came for. So now I have high hopes the second episode will redeem itself.
Cam (2018)
What did I just watch?
I spent the whole movie wondering what was going on. And at the end of the movie I am left with more questions. There was no resolution, no reason why or how this happened. I'm frustrated I spent an hour and a half watching this
The Christmas Chronicles (2018)
One of the best Christmas movies I've seen in years
Title says it all. I went in with low expectations and came out of it blown away. It has comedy, heart, and all the spirit you'd need. Best Christmas movie since the Santa clause and Jack Frost.
Last Shift (2014)
One of the better horror movies I've seen in years
I saw this movie a couple years ago and it always amazes me. With a low budget they managed to scare the witts out of you with subtle unexpected jump scares, a creepy tune you'll hate yourself for huming later and creepy visuals. Not to mention the acting is wonderful for a lower budget film. I never get scared from movies often, but this one was a very nice change of pace from mainstream horror movie tropes.
Legacies (2018)
The sequel we all deserved
Hope taking on the main role or Elena 2.0 as some have said was a great choice. Writing has made the female main character a strong woman rather than the Elena damsel in distress trope. I'm also super happy they kept some of the characters from vampire diaries and didn't reboot with a 100% brand new cast. I'm very excited to see where this show goes!
Charmed (2018)
Take it for what it is
This show is not the original that's for sure. Maybe using the same name was an advertising ploy. But it does follow a lot of the CW shows, it's a young adult show. It's meant for a completely different audience than what the original used to be for. It's a good show for what it is. A coming of age show about 3 young sisters learning who they are. Sooooo that being said. Please don't hate on something just because it's not a frame by frame remake.
