The Iron Claw (2023)
Touched the Soul on the highest level
Where do I begin. I related to this movie on every level imaginable. Zac Efrons best work by far and touched the very depths of my soul. I can't begin to tell you how much this movie means to me. It makes me feel like I can reach the top of the mountains. Like I can overcome life's most difficult obstacles. I related to the absolute overwhelming feelings of losing loved ones who were far too young to be taken. This movie took me off of the edge of a cliff and caught me before I hit the ground. Only to bring me back to the top to be dropped again. Over and over. Again and again. I cried the biggest cries I have ever cried before. I've lived through hell and I've lived through divorce. This movie spoke to me in ways I never thought could be imagined. It sounds corny as can be, but seeing this movie has healed me.
Birdemic: Shock and Terror (2010)
Went to Watch because I was told it was So Bad it's Funny
I love movies that are so bad they are funny. This isn't it. This movie is just a steaming pile of crap. Worst film I've ever seen and really isn't worth watching. Don't know why I kept watching but it wasn't for the quality. The cuts are terrible the acting is terrible the sound editing is terrible. It's absolutely the worst story of all time. The worst everything I've ever seen. Somehow there isn't anything in this movie worth seeing whatsoever. The only thing I could tolerate was one of the cheesiest songs ever written 30 minutes into this movie that is so ridiculous it stands out from anything else in this piece of crap. Don't waste your time. It's not even good for a couple laughs. It's too bad to be accepting of all of the flaws.
Jersey Girl (2004)
Kevin Smith must be Hated
This is a gem. Absolutely awesome. Funny as hell. Totally feels authentic. This is a great film with a director with a clear vision. A masterpiece in Rom com. People love to hate Kevin Smith. It's clear after reading some of these reviews. All actors are giving great performances. For some of them this is there absolute best performances. Very good film with great progression. Surprised more people don't enjoy this.
Inside Llewyn Davis (2013)
Absolute masterpiece
This film is everything I love about film. Not everything is straight forward. The music isn't mainstream and has the soul and feel of the heart. It's absolutely beautiful.
Twilight Zone: The Movie (1983)
Could have been great.
I throughly enjoyed most of what I saw here. The prologue was absolutely fantastic in my opinion. The first segment was great for me as well but knowing people died on set tarnishes that one. The second full segment felt very disjointed from the rest and felt like a crappy hallmark film. The last 2 were visually stunning and were pretty awesome with the final story being my favorite.
Dune (2021)
Perfect set up
This movie sets up this universe perfectly. I would say this is the District 9 of Star Wars. The exact comparison from District 9 to Avatar is made here from Dune to Star Wars.
Val (2021)
OnlyAnIdiot would put lower than a 10
What can I say? The love that went into making this film is other worldly. The fact Jack Kilmer does the voice over is amazing. The truth behind the scenes of the films is honest. It's a heartwarming film that shows the reality of our existence. The very small details of the film add up to make this one of the best documentaries I've ever seen. The things that really work wonders in this film shine all aspects and make it very hard to stop watching. It is mesmerizing from beginning to end. Seeing an iconic legend who once played Batman makes it very difficult to stand seeing him in his current state. If you are a fan of an American icon you will find it hard to see Val in his current state. Highly recommend watching this movie. Full of heart and comes from a place of pure love for film and artistry. The footage Val gathered throughout his career is amazing. Should not be missed.
Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021)
HARRY HOUDINI WOULD BE PROUD
What a Hell of a job. It is almost my belief that either WB and/or Joss Whedon wanted to tank Snyder's film for whatever reason. This movie is vastly different and even though it is very long for me I was entertained the entire time. Cyborg is an amazing character and somehow in this version we get to see that. The flash is an awesome character and in the first version he was just an annoying kid whereas here we are drawn to him. David Ayer deserves his Suicide Squad. And DC needs to back off when it comes to directors
Matchstick Men (2003)
My favorite movie
Wow. I've been deprived by not seeing this film until now. What a perfect film and perfect ending. I had guessed a part of the twist by the 20 minute mark yet I was in total shock by the end. Thoroughly loved this movie.
Beautiful Boy (2018)
Beautiful Movie
What a standout film. Performances are all standout. The younger children are awesome as well as the main cast. What a great film and wow does it look DIRECTLY at the drug addiction issue. Absolutely great and beautiful film.
I Care a Lot (2020)
Great movie with a great message.
Movie leaves you disgusted and absolutely terrible. Makes you very upset at the system and hate people in general. Mess with people and you get put down.
Blaze (2018)
People either get it or put a 9/10 or lower
Absolute magic. The lead in this film is MAGICAL. The movie put me into tears and it will you too if you connect to these songs. The life of Blaze is similar to alot of us out there yet most of us don't have the spark of life that he lit the lyrics of his music with. Absolute magic in his words. Somehow Ben Dickey brings that to life in a way I've never seen an actor portray another artist, not even Phoenix doing Cash. Absolutely will blow you away if you know Blaze at all. The movie is perfect if you like this sort of story.
About Time (2013)
Movie makes me cry
My family did not like this movie. Instead of going to bed I stayed up and finished it. Absolutely one of my favorite movies of all time. The relevance of this movie, especially now that we are in 2020, means so much.
When the father died and the son is about to have another child, I balled my eyes out as he is not able to travel back in time to before having the child ever again. Totally makes me ball my eyes out. Love this movie. With all of my heart. Rachel Mcadams is amazing like always. And she is a beautifully well spoken lead. The movie makes me so happy to watch. The lesson it teaches is what we all need help learning. That what we have is more than enough. I've watched this film over 40 times and it never gets old. Absolutely beautifully done.
His House (2020)
Movie is wonderfully written
It's probably an 8.7 for me. But the idiots reviewing it are giving it low ratings so I'm definitely going with a 10. The writing is superb. The metaphors and the meanings behind every little detail put into it make it amazing if you are smart enough to make the connections. This movie DOES NOT bash you over the head with anything and it is NOT pandering. Very good and very scary. My wife jumped 4 times completely scared out of her pants during the middle of the day while viewing.
All the Bright Places (2020)
Cinematography might be the best of any movie
Seriously good movie. Worth a watch. Definitely missing some details that would have been definitely worth mentioning because 100 % just thought she needed to where glasses but actually they are her sisters. That would have been nice to know. And some other stuff that is just missing. But overall good movie and the cinematography is breathtaking. One of the most beautiful movies and absolutely moving score.
Happy Gilmore (1996)
There should be critics who only critique comedies.
The critics suck. If you're a normal human you will find humor in this film. If not I can't help ya.
The Boys (2019)
Best show On T.V.
Absolutely best show today.
From tackling topics like politics, gaming, comic books themselves, Marvel and D.C., this show is just UTTER fun.
From a suspense thriller perspective it hits the notes.
From someone seeking that hard R rating it hits it.
Someone needing a good chuckle it'll have that in their too.
The story is tremendously written and the cast is utter joy to watch as they are great. All around my favorite show of all time. Many fun things going on from love stories to broken hearts.
Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
My favorite Star Wars film
No other film has visuals like this. Absolutely breathtaking. A huge stride in film and I noticed. Some of the plots intertwine beautifully and climax is absolute magic. There are issues. There are plot holes. But ALL films have plot holes. There are great lightsaber fights. People who say this franchise has been "Disneyfied" are lying. The new trilogy is FAR darker and grittier than the original. The film has some amazing revelations and amazing fun. I took issue with minor things in the end but overall I find this to be the most beautiful Star Wars film to date.
The Wrong Missy (2020)
Could Be Great
Yeah... This movie feels like other ones. Yeah... It's a little cheesy. But, it honestly is a good viewing experience. However, the lead womans character tone shifts OVERWHELMINGLY so that you don't cringe at her sight. I enjoyed this movie and think David Spade was the best he's been in years. However they change the woman alot to make her likeable.
The Dark Knight Rises (2012)
So good but could have been GREAT
Bane is a copout and sucks. He hides behind a woman and it's really sad because his whole "philosophy" is that people are pawns to the government yet they make him out to be the biggest pawn in the movie. Terrible terrible terrible. But Bane without this stupid writing error is a great villian.
Uncut Gems (2019)
Forget the old people reviewing
This movie is mayhem. This movie is complete and utter chaos. Like nothing you have ever seen. I promise it's absolutely nothing you've seen. It's PURELY INTENSE. ITS PURELY REAL. The acting is superb. The story is so so stressful. It is one of the modern day masterpieces. Absolutely breathtaking.
Onward (2020)
You got a heart you'll love this
Made me cry 3 times and full of emotion throughout. Deals with loss, love and happiness and helps a boy come to the realization that who he had in his life acted as a fatherly figure. Top 5 Pixar film for sure.
30 Minutes or Less (2011)
People Be Crazy, Seriously
This movie is awesome. Amazing writing. For a comedy the writing is awesome. Way better than ALL comedies coming out these days. Awesome acting and great meaning.
Seriously anyone who didn't like it I truly don't understand. It's SOO much better than half that crap coming out.
Serenity (2019)
Obsecure and Odd
If you sidnt like this movie, watch it again. If you dont play video games, you never had a chance at undersranding it. From the first frame to the last it is compelling and furthermore its a game with a combo of FarCry and Sims. From custom interaction with characters, to Matthew jumping into the ocean naked, this film is ambitious and beautiful. And it actually is very thought provoking. When the truck cant drive during a red light its because the game isnt set up to break those rules. Imo it is a good film with lofty expectations that for the most part is beautifully crafted into the world of interactive gaming. This is NOT a film for everyone, but if you truly understand video games you will appreciate the cinematography and it will open your mind to the true meaning of the film as well as enhance the viewing experience.
Watchmen (2019)
It won best show for a Reason
Show is great. "Race" cards are not played here just the straight truth that I actually didnt know about. Some sick things happened that it feels like history books have covered up. Very well made show. Very good storylines. Dont let idiots tell you its anything different, and yes you are idiots because just like me you have been withheld information.
