Nickelodeons getting better!
28 July 2017
Nickelodeon seems to be getting better and better, and i'm loving it! This show started out as a 2014 6 episode mini-series on Nick, and I wasn't to impressed, but once I saw promos for this show, I was hyped! It has great characters, animation, and the hotel they live in is crawling with mystery. The one thing I ain't really liking is how they threw the mystery right in our faces in episode one, but that's nothing major. If you want a light-hearted mystery show, then this show is for you! (take note Cartoon Network) :p

I'm just confused at this point
6 May 2017
Cartoon Network's been confusing me lately. They keep pumping out reboots with such a little crap, it's kinda sad. This reboot isn't as bad as PPG 2016, but it still isn't good by any means. I hope they realize that kids grow up with their shows, and that makes me sad, knowing that kids obliviously watch these cheap, pathetic reboots made just to sell McDonalds toys. I'm not giving it a 1 because the episodes suck, (they're more lazy and meh) I'm giving it a 1 because the soullessness and lack of heart behind the show. To any kids who see this review 20 years in the future, I'm sorry you grew up with this modern Cartoon Network, with constant re-runs of TTG and their pathetic reboots. I know Cartoon Network is a business, and they need money, but you can make a show good, AND care about money at the same time.

A new genre for Nickelodeon
28 March 2017
A new Nick sitcom that isn't a comedy! It's a mystery show, about some kids' parents who went missing, as they try to solve were they went. For a modern Nick sitcom, its surprisingly good. It has good mystery, no random/fart jokes, and an over-all good plot. Good job Nick, hope you guys keep it up!

Bunsen Is a Beast (2017–2018)

It's definitely good, I just feel like it could've been better
26 February 2017
Warning: Spoilers
I'm a huge fan of Butch Hartman's work. I remember when this was first green-lit, and then seeing it was made by Butch Hartman? I was stoked! So I've watched some of the episodes... I think it's a good show, but it has some minor issues.

I like the 2 main characters, Bunsen and Mikey both really care and look out for each other. A complaint I see a lot are the voices. Personally, I think their voice fit all of them well, but they do however scream a lot, which imo can be a bit annoying. Also, it's animated in flash... I think flash is smooth and it's cheaper, but it just looks, unprofessional... I think flash may be the new way of animating shows, so get over it. I also LOVE the "Tex Avery" cartoon-I-ness to the show!

My main complaints are Ms. Flap, Amanda, and the jokes. I really don't like Ms. Flap, she just yells weird lines and jokes. and Amanda? She just doesn't feel like a good antagonist. If they elaborated on the fact that Beasts are evil, she would have more of a leg to stand on, but they didn't. Also the jokes are just random. Some jokes are funny, just some of the jokes pop out of nowhere and kinda make no sense.

So Bunsen is a Beast, its definitely one of Nicks better shows (Better than those crappy sitcoms am I right?) I just feel like it could've been better. Remove the random jokes and prove that beasts are truly evil so that Amanda would make more sense, and this show would definitely be Nicks #1 show!

EDIT: The recent episodes imo have been gradually improving, it's definitely a good show. Reading YT comments, I often see people complaining about the show for these minute issues, I personally think it's a good show for what it is! It upsets me seeing how much the show is disliked... please don't watch with high expectations, it's just a cute comedy :)

The Loud House (2014– )

Pretty cool show, especially for modern Nickelodeon!
4 October 2016
Warning: Spoilers
In my opinion, this is the best 2010s Nickelodeon show, and for good reason! The show is about Lincoln Loud and his 10 sisters, and shows how Lincoln handles living his daily life in such a large family.

Something I like about the show is the animation, its extremely smooth and flows very nicely. I also like the art style, throws you back to the Sunday morning newspaper comics lol.

Each episode is well-written, as well as having interesting plots. The shows jokes are a mixture of adult jokes, toilet jokes, and jokes that come from the siblings bouncing off each other.

The sisters in the show, despite being a bit cliché, still act like normal kids, just having extreme liking towards their things. My hopes are that the sisters will become more in-depth as the series goes on. I also hope that certain episodes will only contain certain sisters.

Something else I've noticed about the show is how Lincoln acts manipulative and selfish at times, but he gets his comeuppance in the end, and he's still a genuinely nice guy. Another thing that kinda tics me off is Clyde's crush on Lori, I think has gotten a bit out of hand. However, Clyde is still a good friend to Lincoln and I think he deserves some recognition.

So in the end, this show is great for kids. It has morals, it's very relatable if you've ever had siblings, and I guarantee that after watching a few episodes, you'll have your favorite sister! This show is what Nickelodeon needed, and it's a show that kids deserve!

Series grade so far: 8.5/10
