Justice League x RWBY: Super Heroes and Huntsmen Part One (2023)
An Awesome Crossover (Almost) On-Par With Batman Vs TMNT!
I'm legit shocked how much I actually loved this one, even more than Battle Of The SuperSons shocked me last year.
The 3D animation is excellent, the new designs for the League are really well-designed and fit into the art style very well, the story is pretty good, the writing is much better than expected, the voice acting is pretty good especially from Weiss and Batman, all the characters are on-point, the tone is decently light hearted with a nice dark edge, the fights are exhilarating and very dynamic, the interactions between the two teams feel entirely natural and not at all forced, it's pacing is great and not at all drags, the third act twist was impossible to predict, and it's was all-around a blast to watch!
Only flaws that keep me from being able to call it as excellent as Battle Of The SuperSons or Batman Vs TMNT are some jokes are hit-or-miss and the ending is a bit confusing on how exactly they'll continue the story into Part 2, but I feel like that was intentional so it kept the audience guessing.
I haven't read the comic this came from yet and this was my first introduction to RWBY so I can't say how faithful it was to the anime's continuity, but I'm now very enticed to check the show out and I'm beyond excited to see what Part 2 has in store!
Excellent job Warner Bros. Animation & Rooster Teeth! You knocked it out of the park and I can't wait to see more!
What at first seemed like a very bizarre and unneeded cashgrab turned out to be an awesome super fun adventure that I'm absolutely adding to my movie cabinet!
A total blast! Very highly recommended!
The Retaliators (2021)
An Instant Horror Classic!
After all the production issues this film had to go through bc of the pandemic, The Retaliators finally arrived in theaters back in September and VOD this October just in time for Halloween... AND IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT!
I LOVE THIS MOVIE!! Amazing performances from everyone (especially Michael Lombardi as Pastor Bishop), loaded with Metal music cameos galore from Spencer Charnas of Ice Nine Kills to Jacoby Shaddix, extremely impressive gore reminiscent of Evil Dead, fantastic characters that're more deep and complex than most in this genre, excellent cinematography, top notch complex writing that does a fantastic job fleshing out every character, some of the best scares in any horror film in at least the past 5 years, and all topped off with one of the best movie soundtracks ever created!
It may have taken a while to get released, but The Retaliators is a dark and violent revenge-movie that is a MUST-SEE for any Horror fan this October! Especially gorehounds!
It's also a MUST-SEE every December as well bc the film does take place during Christmas! The first since Nightmare Before Christmas to achieve this feat!
I cannot reccommend this movie highly enough! It is THE best horror movie of 2022!
Straight Outta Nowhere: Scooby-Doo! Meets Courage the Cowardly Dog (2021)
This Was A Great Crossover! IT'S SO GREAT TO SEE COURAGE AGAIN!!!
I was very excited for this one bc it's the first time in a long time that I've seen Courage The Cowardly Dog! I loved the show as a kid and it's one of the main things that made me into a horror fan!
Let's start with the positives: the animation was really good, all the characters were in character, they didn't sanitize Courage and actually focused on the real supernatural elements, it was really funny, the two franchises blended together very well, the twist at the end was very unexpected and was really cool to see two of Courage's villains return, a lot of easter eggs for the fans of Courage including some footage of the older episodes, they actually had Courage as the main focus which was really nice to see, and of course an amazing and touching final performance from the late Bea White (apologies if I misspelled that)
Now for some things that were a bit mixed: some jokes were hit or miss, the mystery itself while fun was pretty predictable and by the numbers, the action was pretty good but some moments during the action felt a little forced, and there were also a few moments that felt corporate
Now for the negatives: Velma is still a problem, the first of the three songs of the movie is atrocious garbage, some moments were cringy, and while I do like the focus on Courage it also takes away from the rest of the Scooby gang to the point that all of them except for Shaggy feel shoehorned in and pretty much pointless
So in conclusion: While it may have it's faults, this is still a pretty great movie that satifies the fans of both shows! Rewatchability for me is pretty high and I want to see another one in the future!
Final Verdict: 9/10!
Highly recommended to fans of both Courage and Scooby!
But if you don't like either one, then steer clear bc this is not for you.
Thank you for reading this entire review and have a Scooby-tastic day!
Raya and the Last Dragon (2021)
DISNEY'S BEST FILM TO DATE!
I absolutely love this movie! The animation is spectacular, the characters are excellent, the message is universal and more relevant than ever, the action choreography is jaw-dropping, the comedy is hilarious, the story is incredibly strong, the world building is fantastic, and the music is perfect!
People who bash it just don't get the movie's message or just outright don't like the comedy, which they're wrong on both accounts bc this movie is perfect!
I'd give it an 11/10 if I could and this is Disney's best film to date! Highly recommended!!!!
Hubie Halloween (2020)
Despite what I know critics are gonna say, I really enjoy it!
It was funny, extremely entertaining, and one of his best comedies in years! It's the perfect thing to help people into the Halloween spirit! Yes it does have some jokes that don't land and some stupid moments, but it kind of adds to the charm so I don't really mind it. The cast was really good too, with some SNL alumni and Kenan Thompson is always a joy!
A modern Halloween classic!
I give it a 9 and a pretty high recommendation from me! Don't listen to the critics, watch it yourself before you judge it!
Happy Halloween, Scooby-Doo! (2020)
What a great time after the abysmal Return To Zombie Island
I really really liked this one! Not only as a great return to form after the trash released last year, but also as a great film in it's own right! Yes it can be pretty scatter-brained and pretty cheesy, but it still adds to the enjoyment!
If this is the last time for Grey Delise-Griffith and Matthew Lillard as Shaggy and Daphne, they definitely went out on a high note!
Scooby-Doo: Return to Zombie Island (2019)
An Insulting Disappointment 😠
A dump on an absolute classic and a colossal disappointment. Terrible writing, dumbed down characters, and a horrendous twist that gives the middle finger to all the fans of the original. My Worst Movie of 2019
Incredibles 2 (2018)
Absolute Masterpiece
This movie was highly anticipated and I can safely say that it not only met the hype, but it surpassed it as well. The characters old and new are great, the action is fantastic, and the story is good. People still say that the first is better, but I absolutely love this sequel and I highly recommend it.
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer & the Island of Misfit Toys (2001)
Absolute crap(Spoilers!)
This movie was a awful sequel to a true classic. The animation is lazy and terrifying, Most of the songs were absolute garbage, and the story is just unbelievably clique and stupid. The only good thing about this garbage sequel is that I love the song beyond the stars. But aside from that, this movie is a shameful sequel to a unforgettable, heartwarming, and beautiful classic. DO NOT WATCH IT, STICK TO THE CLASSIC! This movie has, besides the song beyond the stars, has absolutely nothing to like. And the hippo character was an absolutely unpleasant and annoying character and sounds like absolute crap. Unless you want to be dumber or love watching these animated horrors, skip this one at all costs and for Christ's sake, do not show this garbage to kids.
