This movie was on Brazil's list of nominees for the Oscars, but was not nominated by Brazil. "Ghost Portraits" is chosen to represent Brazil at the Oscars.

Maeve Jinkings will soon win a Palme d'Or at Cannes. This is the director's second movie. I preffer the first movie called "carvão". "Pedágio" could have been excellent if it had developed the problematic "gay cure" more. The part of crime is very good, now every time I pass a toll I remember this scene.

This movie is very important. Films like this are often not shown in theaters or streaming services. It's important to reflect on this.

I recommend this movie.

This movie is very similar to Elite Squad. It´s about public security in Brazil. The plot is an adaptation of the political invasion of the Alemão Favela, a very famous moment in TV from Brazil. I recommend it. 8/10.

This movie is highly recommended. Despite the broad issues such as "what happened in Bahia and other states" and the action of the United Nations, the movie focuses on a more restricted universe such as a neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro, but this does not disqualify the work. The film is about the occupation of places by those who are denied a place. Highly recommended, don't waste time and watch it! Seu Jorge is magnificent and very funny. Note 9/10.

This is a good movie about corruption from Brazil. Named as "rachadinha" (in Brazil) the schema operates from commissioned positions of mayors and councilors who put their allies in positions to take a part of the employees' salaries as a political tithe (dizimo politico). Many famous politicians in Brazil use this practice. In this way, the film deals with a very current theme in the Brazilian political scenario and is very well directed.

This movie is about the genocide of the Guarani's indigenous people.

The director Vicent Carelli is perfect with his interviews and editing. In some parts of the film Brazilian politicians debate the issue of "Terras Indigenas" with the eyes of the big agro-business in Brazil, very sad.

This movie is a good sample about the Maracatu ritual that is very popular in the state of Pernambuco, Brazil. The mix of this musical style with rock was the inspiration for one of the best bands in Brazil called Chico Science e Nação Zumbi (listen "Maracatu Atomico"). The movie is short and have a lot action. The best part is about a passage from the Bible where an accent can make a lot of difference in interpretation.

There are several indigenous peoples in Brazil, each with its own peculiarities and characteristics. This documentary shows as the Yanomami see the issue of ore and "garimpeiros".

Deforestation starts with the gold prospector (garimpeiro), flowed to the wood seller and finally the big farmer, all on the same idea but at different scales of exploration of the Amazon.

Genocide against indigenous peoples has to stop!

Since the military dictatorial period in Brazil, the Amazon rainforest has been devastated by ranchers and Fe and Au mines. It's so bad when the rancher justifies deforestation, so sad. The documentaries show both sides: the farmer and the environmentalist. Why? Cash only profit. The consequence of this will be unimaginable for the planet.

This movie is about refuggies and homeless people in Brazil. This is a mixture of drama and realistic events. The main character (Carmen Silva) is a real leader. Who are the people who live in abandoned buildings in Brazil? This is the answer that the film shows us. Frente de Luta por Moradia (FLM).

It´s a feminist semi-documentary movie from Minas Gerais-Brazil. The actores are locals and not profissional, but very competent. The one hour long is perfect time for this experience. This movie shows the vision and protagonism woman about crime movies from Brazil that always have mens as main caracther. The final song is one of my favorites (Racionais Mcs - Vida loka parte 2).

Great. The story is inspired by a real event. I highly recommend this film, an anthropology class. Demarcação, já!

I didn't understand why they produced a movie like this. The ending makes no sense, as in all the movie. However, as footage of the beautiful "Rio de Janeiro" is good. Luana Piovanni acts as a rich and snobbish "perua". Featured actor "Paulo Tiefenthaler" that i met through the series "Larica TOTAL", the series is very good, but this movie is just some of the good images. I won't comment on "Toni Garrido", but the song at the end of the movie is very good. I recommend this movie if you like Brazilian love comedies.

This is a movie but it looks like a documentary. The acting of the actress is magnificent, but it is slow and the art behind the scenes is very subtle and light. The final scene doesn't make sense or it gets too bad. This film is a good indication only for those who like personal documentaries. My grade is 6/10.

This movie is not 'super movie'... its just OK... Rodrigo Santoro (famous brasilian actor) plays good, but the movie is boring and sometimes not intersting... my note is 6/10.

This movie is important because many Brazilians today pretend to forget about the 1964 "golpe militar" orchestrated by the USA. "Legalidade" is a romantic and political film that has as its background the city of Porto Alegre, in southern Brazil. I indicate this movie even though it is limited to only one political historical moment in Brazil. "Jango" (politician brasilian) is ridiculed in the movie while "Brizolla" is idolized. Highlight for the actor who played Brizolla (Leonardo Machado). Sex scenes are disconnected with the content of the movie and are desnecessary. My grade is 7/10.

This movie is not good. The actor have a little good performance, but it dont save the movie. I think the religious theme was a better thing to explore in this movie... but it dont happen. The only thing that saves this movie is that i saw in the good classic theathe in brazil... so potential.. note: 6 of 10.

Complicated! The movie should have told me what the monsters are, where they came from, why did they come ?? I imagined the whole time it was the final judgment, god's apocalypse, but that also would not make sense. If the ending was "we will not show the monster why else would you kill yourself" would be much better! Everything goes without explanation. Despite this, the movie is good and the note is 7. I just looked because it was hype.

I recommende this fascinating movie of Mia Hansen-Løve inspired in your mother life´s. I question myself why this movie was not in the Cannes? The shot is wonderfull with scenes of everyday life in Paris, in beach trip and mountain refuge (Grenoble).

It´s a short movie (1h30min) which made me like it. Isabelle Huppert have a magnific actuation. However, the main character has 40 years and Huppert more than 60. Ok, this was not a problem. Sometimes the main character was a typical Frances boring, with gesture, expressions and customs that only the French understand. It reminded me a lot of my experiences in France, and that was very good. The final is very intersting followed by The Fleetwoods - Unchained Melody. I conclude that freedom must always be present in our lives, and that freedom and time can solve any problem life´s, as unemployment, love, disappointment, etc. I really liked it. My note is 7/10, but almost 8/10.
