A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving (1973)
One of the Must Watch Classics
So, I'm watching this in September (don't judge me), and this can really put you in the Fall mood, just like "Garfield's Thanksgiving". And just like "Garfield's Thanksgiving", I could probably watch this any time of year after July. For me, Fall can sometimes for me makes me think of cloudy days, and like in a lot of 2D, 3D, and Stop Motion movies and specials, the sky is beautiful. Mostly cloudy with that Fall feel. I have a lot of nostalgia to the way certain sky's look and they make me think back on my Elementary school days, and this is no exception. Pretty much each season for me has some nostalgia tied to it. I love how animation can make you feel warm inside. This is superior to "The Mayflower Voyagers", and though I still enjoy that one, this is just such a classic special with a very simple yet entertaining plot and story. It seems like the era of getting new "Peanus" TV specials are over and we sadly haven't gotten a sequel to "The Peanus Movie", but these specials have great rewatch-ability, and almost all of the "Peanuts" movies and specials are great. If you haven't for some reason see this yet, I highly recommend it.
Chef! (1993)
Another Classic British Comedy
I don't know what it is, but England tends to have great comedies. Example: "Mr. Bean", "Vicar of Dibley", and "Fawlty Towers". But like many British comedies, it didn't have enough episodes. "Mr Bean" had 15 episodes in 1 season (or, in the UK, 'series'), "Vicar of Dibley" had 16 episodes in 3 series, along with 2 more "series" consisting of 2 specials, one that's Christmas and one that's New Years related, and the other 2 being the finale where the Vicar gets married. "Fawlty Towers" had 12 episodes spanning 2 series (though I heard that they were planning a 3rd series but was canceled after Basil Fawlty (John Cleese) and Polly Sherman (Connie Booth) got a divorce. This show had 20 episodes spanning 3 series, and each episode is fantastic. Just go watch all these shows.
Avengers: Infinity War (2018)
One of the best MCU Films
Like most people, I was really looking forward to this movie, as the first Avengers movie from 2012 has great meaning to me, as I believe it was the first PG-13 movie I ever saw in the theater, and my dad wanted to see it and I was unaware of it. Ever since then, I have seen every MCU movie in the theater with exceptions of "Guardians of the Galaxy 1 and 2", "Doctor Strange", and Ant-Man. I saw this in 3D opening weekend. We got there an hour early and by the time the movie started, the area behind us in the theater was almost completely filled up. This was one of those big movies that are a special occasion. 2 examples are "Marvel's Avengers" (2012) and "Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens". This will be another short review, but this movie gave us the Iron Spider suit, one of my favorite Spider-Man suits, and gave us Thanos, something they've been hyping up since 2012 as a post credit scene to "Avengers". This is my second favorite MCU movie, and the first is "Avengers". I could probably see myself watching this once or twice a year. This was so good, but I didn't feel for any of the characters that "died", as I knew they were coming back. But overall, this is a great MCU movie and definitely worth a watch.
Power Rangers R.P.M. (2009)
Best Power Rangers Season Ever
So, a computer virus named Venjix has taken over the world but the domed city of Corinth. Reminds me of Ultron from Marvel. This is so far the darkest Power Rangers season, and it does it so well while still staying in that TV-Y7 rating. It sets up certain things throughout the show, like Dillon being Tenaya 7's brother, and in the finale she makes the turn to good, even though both her and Dillon are hybrids: Half Human, Half Robots with the Venjix Virus, the big bad of the season. The rangers are so different. Scott Truman, Ranger Operator Series Red, is a military son and pilot, Summer, Ranger Operator Series Yellow, used to be a spoiled brat until her butler couldn't make it to Corinth I believe after the Venjix virus took over. Flynn, Ranger Operator Series Blue, is a Mechanic, Dillion, Ranger Operator Series Black, is a hybrid with serious memory loss, and Ziggy Ranger Operator Series Green is, well, he's Ziggy. We find out later in the season that Ziggy used to work for, get this, the mob. Yes, Power Rangers showed the mob. He got out of it after he stole some supplies for sick children. He's the comedic relief of the show, and it doesn't come across as too silly. We also meet Gem, Ranger Operator Series Gold and Gemma, Power Rangers Operator Series Silver, later on in the season, explosion happy brother and sister who worked with Doctor K. on the Venjix virus before it turned evil. Dr. K.'s body and face gets revealed later on. Nobody on the Power Rangers RPM team has ever seen her in person. She and Ziggy and up forming a connection, though she keeps her feelings hidden, with Summer only knowing as the computer shut down thing's password is "Ziggy" and Ziggy putting his arm around her at the end of the finale and she smiling. Venjix did in fact survive, as we see in the very end the Venjix Virus in one of the morphers. Look, to make a long story short, no Power Rangers season has been able to touch it's greatness yet. It sadly appears the next season of Power Rangers, "Beast Morphers" will not include Venjix as many of us thought it would. In RPM they even had a nod to "Go-Onger", the Super Sentai RPM was adapted from. If you want a great season of Power Rangers, watch this.
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (1993)
Power Rangers as a Franchise Gets better later
So, I thought it was just ok. As somebody who, before seeing this, was used to the whole 40 episodes for a season/super season and then new cast, so by seasons 2 or 3, I was getting a little tired of the cheesy-ness of MMPR. I think Power Rangers peaked at RPM and no season has been able to match. This is a brief review, but I think it's just meh. I would much rather watch RPM, SPD, or Dino Charge than this. But the fight scenes were good I guess, but I didn't really like the 3 show story of essentially the same rangers. So if you have to watch just ONE season, go with RPM.
Predator (1987)
One of the best Arnold movies of all time
Unlike the 2nd movie, this movie is good. With classic one liners like "Stick Around", "I ain't got time time to bleed", and "You are one ugly mother ****", this was one of the few movies that didn't need a sequel. The ending was GREAT! The way the Predator dies is kind of shocking but awesome. I mean, the Predator of this movie BLEW HIMSELF UP! How could one NOT like this film? I can't say enough good things about this movie and it's another one of those movies that has FANTASTIC re-watch-ability. I can't recommend this gory and kind of funny movie enough.
