House of the Dragon (2022– )
9/10
A very good start, why?
7 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
It's unavoidable to compare this show with GOT, however do not jump the gun yet.

HOTD as I see it is about vicious politics for the throne in season 1 within a house unlike GOT. I wanted to see this with least expectations and more importantly how targaryens paved their downfall.

Takeaways:

1. With the incredibly long lineage for the targaryens, a time jump was a necessity. Hope more time jump follows in the upcoming seasons and ends with Robert's rebellion. Although I highly doubt it.

2. Season 1 had a pretty decent introductions to house Targaryen and valaryon, the oldest we knew from books.

3. It did draw lot of similarities between the dragons and the targeryans. Both of them can be good, bad and sometimes uncontrollable.

4. There is always a little finger to light the fire.

Open ends:

1. GOT had a lot of character introductions in season 1 and opened the perspective. It's missing here. Most of it are up to our imagination.

2. The relationship between hightowers and Targaryen's are not properly established as they did with valaryons.

3. Killing of characters did not create an impact as there was no proper connect between the audience and the characters.

4. All these chaos because viserys mistook Alicent for rhaenyra in his death bed. Instead alicent could have gone on war directly with Rhaenyra for rightful heir to the throne. Childhood friendship aside.

These are just for season 1. But yes I'm invested in this.

Fitting ending!
16 May 2022
I don't understand what all the fuss about the ending being bad or inconclusive. If you have invested time in watching the series through you should understand that some stories are just an infinite loop of series of events.

It was not a Disney ending but rather a fitting one.

The series seems incomplete because no matter how many more seasons they fetch it will always come to this ending. That's the loop. That's the brilliance of story telling.

Brilliant series!!
16 May 2022
There are very few series that keeps the audience engaging through out the series. This is one among the few.

The best parts: 1. Characterization. The show picked brilliant actors and all the characters justified their pick.

2. Character arc. Wendy and Ruth. My strong opinion is that this show belonged to these two characters.

3. BGM. The tension of the script was consistently persuasive because of its bgm.

4. Story. It is not what it was supposed to be. It was not predictable either unlike other similar genre shows.

5. Ending. Lot of people shared their disappointment over the finale but forgot the fact that some stories doesn't have an end. It just cannot.

Overall. Must watch.

A neat gregory house style ending!
11 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Well I should say I was hoping that the makers dont mess this up like how House messes with his relationships. And boy I was glad for this ending.

Reasons: 1. Glad that House did not suddenly get enlightenment and start to respect people.

2. Glad that there was no cliche ending like house trying to save Wilson by finding the cure.

3. Glad that they did not show what was going to happen to wilson after 5 months even-though it was evident and inevitable.

4. Glad that how was able to con everyone to buy the time to spend with wilson. Infact this is the best part hands down.

5. Glad that everyone made a small cameo ( wish cuddy joined too)

Have to be braindead to watch this

A movie is only as good as the characters that portray it. This movie is a disappointment.

Agreed that this story can be made in any era as it will still be relatable but the script should demand a new way of story telling which is missing.

Telugu Cinema in a nutshell can be broadly classified into two categories, Entertainment oriented or story/performance oriented. Unfortunately this falls in neither.

The cast is so powerful to pull off any kind of performance but i guess the story or the director did not demand any.

Music and action sequence did not disappoint and hence earned 5/10 rating.

Technically there wasn't any aspect that stood out to be reviewed.

I personally would love to see Nani exploring different genres but adding a bit of comedy here and there would not affect the movie and i was disappointed not having seen any in this movie.

Why Schofield did what he did!
6 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This episode is the most important episode for this series and not just for season 1.

Why did schofield go leaps and bounds to save his brother? This episode had the answer.

Michael was about to give up on his brother when linc was in prison and When he came to know the truth about the $90000 that linc borrowed , he was literally crushed. (Wentworth miller had that look on his face. Brilliant acting)

The dialogue " You are where you are because of him" and " He is where he is because of me" broke my heart. I loved what linc had sacrificed for his brother.

The bond that defined the series started here guys. Started right here.

What was that? I had to come here to rate this title because it moved me so much. An unexpected episode explaining one of the unspoken storyline of the series.

I mean the way Greg narrated the story pulled me into his world. It took a moment for me to realize that I was watching a TV series. That people, is how you narrate. Should rank among All time great episodes.

Way ahead of its time!!
1 March 2021
I am guilty!! I watched this movie in the year 2021.Yes!!! I do not know how a movie can look so fresh when someone watches it 20 years after its been made. Guess thats why some movies are called way ahead of its time.

Mr.Shyamalan. You are indeed a genius. Massive respect sir.

I happened to watch this movie by luck. I am calling it a luck now because i am very glad it happened. I did not want to see the reviews before i watched this movie or any movie for that matter as spoilers kills the mood. I did not know the genre. All i knew was its movie with Shyamalan, Bruce willis and Samuel L Jackson in its credits.I wanted to have an open mind and now its blown!

A super hero thriller? Seriously? I believe, it would have been a very bold and novel idea back then. The screenplay was gripping. The BGM gave me chills. And the icing on the cake, the plot twist. Whoa! I sure admit, I did not anticipate that. Huge applause for the actors.

A must watch Thriller!! Totally worth it.

Brilliant storytelling
31 January 2021
If you want a nail biter, gripping and remarkable storytelling, this is the movie to watch out for.

This is a very delicate genre to handle. Several Indian films have attempted this genre yet a handful came out successful. The main reason for success is the way these Indian directors have scripted the story.

Screenplay. The movie's protagonist and antagonist is one guy 'vedha'. And the guy who has played this character has done complete justice. Outstanding acting and screen presence. Got to admire the metaphorical references made throughout the movie.

The bgm was a huge complement to the story. Specially when they decide to introduce the 'vedha' character the bgm gave me goosebumps.

One drawback: the shootout at the very end lacked logic and common sense. On the broader spectrum it's forgivable.

A must watch for movie buffs.

Classic for ages to come
26 January 2021
At the end of the movie I was able to feel serenity and calmness inside me. Why? Is it because of the story? Or may be because of Ram and jaanu? Or may be it was relatable?Music? The answer is MAGIC. Its not just a story of Ram and jaanu. Its a mirror of our lives. That's the reason this movie is going to be so close to my heart and several others as well. If this story had ended in any other way than the way it did the magic would have been lost. It was such a delicate ending and I am pretty confident this is going down as classic for ages to come. All four leads did an exceptional job. And the music was divine. I don't want to name specific artists because Kudos is to be given to the entire cast and crew. Period.

I want to write volumes but I urge people to experience rather watch this movie. Note to the director: It is a sin making wonderful movies like this.

10 for pure acting!
26 January 2021
I kinda guessed where this episode was heading but I was awestruck in the end the way Freddie pulled off "the Shaun Murphy". By far the best episode in terms of building Shaun's story. Should appreciate the writers. The title should have been "family". Glassy was more of a father since the beginning and Leah(boy, I just adored her in the last scene) was more than a friend. My perception is glassy and Leah are exactly like how Steve was with Shaun. In the pilot I liked Steve and Shaun. Then I liked glassy. When I reached the end of this episode I saw the genuinity and divinity in Leah. Conclusion: If I had the power I would pick Freddie highmore to win best actor award everywhere for this series.

All about the director
16 May 2020
Have you wondered how can someone fail even when all the answers are there right in front of them and despite them having seen it too? This is classic example. It requires a special team to take up something that was already made and add the perfect Ingredients to mess the whole script up.. And for all the ducktards out there, the state down south is called as Kerala and not 'keral'. It's a Tamil film and a Tamil word 'vettai' and you bought the rights and yet credited it as Telugu film 'vettai'... It's clear that 'copy karna aati nahi aur chutiyapan to jaati nahi' . on a scale a 10 where 10 is the stupidest someone can be, the director scores 85 million INR.. my heart goes out to the poor kid tiger Shroff who dint deserve to do this ducked up movie.

Could have been better
30 August 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Arguably one of the best episode of the season.

Points to cherish: 1. The living decided to unite. 2. Littlefinger politics is no more. Required a super power to bring him down! Kudos Baelish! 3. Jamie's redemption. 4. Cersei's plot. 5. Night King's kick-ass attack. 6. Jon's loyalty to the queen. 7. Jon's bloodline revealed. 8. Rhaegar targaryen, finally! 9. Theon not being a reek anymore. Miss Ramsey! 10.Tyrion's strategic mind.

Points to ponder. 1. They still believe Cersie. 2. Little fingers death was too quick. 3. Jon and dany. Disappointing! 4. Tyrion's reaction is questionable. 5. Sam taking the credit for Gilly! sad, hehehe! 6. Theon's mission looks suicidal against Euron's army. 7. Jon not meeting his long lost family, yet! 8. The pace of the season!!!!!

If the show is such a massive hit across globe why should they rush to the end??

Adrenaline rush throughout this masterpiece!!
27 June 2016
How can I write without any spoilers? Let me try.

After watching "Battle of Bastards", one is set to think that it was the best episode of the season or series, but boy this episode gave it a run for its money!

To me, "The winds of Winter" is the best episode of this season and the best season finale ever in television history!

Several reviewers have already discussed the episode enough and I cannot do any bigger justice than that. So I will put forward my likes in bullets.

1. Ramin Djawadi - Background score - Scintillating 2. Miguel Sapochnik - Direction - Indisputably Fabulous 3. Arya Stark - Revenge - Calm as lioness 4. Lady Mormont - Loyalty - Goosebumps 5. Cersei Lannister - Performance - "Did you forget who I am" 6. Jon Snow - The Bastard that he was no more 7. Littlefinger - Better luck next time! 8. Dany - Bring it on!

Together they have made this episode an epic. After a disappointed season 5 finale, this finale has definitely lifted the spirits of all the GOT fans.

I cannot wait another 10 months now. Please release it early!

Battle of incredible Bastards!! - Epic
23 June 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Wait?!? Is it for real?? Did I just see a happy ending in the show??? This episode has startled me!

This Episode has restored my faith in the show. One of the most incredibly shot battles in the history on motion pictures! Probably the best among the TV shows.

The death of Ramsey is overwhelming, but one has to agree to the fact that without people hating Ramsey or cersei as much as they do, this show would not have been so interesting. Iwan(Ramsey) has given a life to the character that has kept the show on its toes. Ramsey getting eaten by his hounds would have brought an orgasm of satisfaction to the audience!

Talking about the battle, this is easily rated as one of the best in the history of battles shot. The screenplay literally shook me. Wun wun, Tormund and Jon stole the show for me. The plan laid by both the bastards are similar and their victories should be shared. They tried to annoy the other by staying composed but Ramsey won that race by drawing Jon all alone on the field by so Ramsey way. All is fair in war. Some credits to that please.

Probably the death of Wun Wun did not create the impact as much as Hodor from "The Door". I would have loved to see Wun Wun in another battle with the white walkers. Sadly that is never gonna happen again.

Icing on the cake was certainly the death of Ramsey(What an actor!), however, the battle at Mereen was a welcome bonus to this incredible episode. It was an epic battle by itself within that short story line overshadowed by the battle of bastards. Had this battle taken place in the previous episode GOT would have had another incredible eighth episode in its sack. Probably Arya stark's survival should have been pushed to this episode and then this episode would have been dedicated as the episode of the wolves!

Totally thoroughly enjoyed this episode and this has certainly raised the bars of the show to a whole new level.

A girl is Arya Stark of Winterfell
13 June 2016
Warning: Spoilers
This episode is certainly not the best episode of the season by far or the "Entertaining Eighth" types like the "Hardhome" or "The Mountain vs the viper"but did did lay the plot for the upcoming episodes. I was a little disappointed like most of the viewers for not having seen the battle between "the waif" and Arya Stark. Then it made sense to me. First, Arya Stark has failed against the waif on numerous occasions for obvious reasons, the waif was better at fighting. Second, Arya is severely injured and although she is a great fighter, her body would give up eventually and the waif would have killed her rather easily. Hence Arya had to defeat the waif by drawing her into her ploy. Arya was blind for a while and she was trained in darkness. So it makes sense that Arya has deceived the waif and brought her to the place where Arya will have the edge over her. We could not see this battle but we will get to see her battle at better fronts. Thanks to the waif and the many faced god. What an entry for Daenerys! The queen of Mereen has returned when the kingdom was under crisis. Will we get to see the war? lets wait for the 10th episode. There was some interesting developments with the hound, Jamie and Brienne of Tarth. These were mostly the plot for the next episode. Brienne failed to convince blackfish so she does not win the Tully army. She goes empty handed to Sansa who is all set to fight the Boltons with a small army and "Jon Snow" by her side.

I was not here to review the entire episode rather i was here to explain why the battle was not shown between the waif and Arya Stark. The ending is as epic as the ending of the "Home" earlier this season. When Arya says "The girl is Arya Stark of Winterfell and she is going home"!
