Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (2015)
humor for people who have a sense of humor
The greatest theme song of all time
Titus Andromedon
Hilariously dark premise
Ellie Kemper
Latka's wife
cassette stand
puppets
there is something for everyone!
If you don't like this show you are an awful person and probably a Republican.
The Office (2005)
discontent
I always envisioned Pam and Jim splitting up
And Dwight realizing how horrible Angela is as person
I pictured Jim and Dwight getting together
There was so much sexual tension between these two
and there is still the question... who is the top?
I'll let the writers figure that out
You're welcome.
Cats (2019)
what were you expecting?
Cats is a terrible play that couldn't translate to film...
And it tries its best...
This is a decent effort and the songs are always okay...
Okay... the songs are all ridiculous... take this edible and let's watch it again.
Vikings: Valhalla (2022)
pretty good
On the same level as the original.
Netflix will almost certainly cancel this soon... so I hope there is at least 1 more season.
Using actual historical people to populate this world is kinda weird when the timelines don't work.
Didn't have to do that
If you care about historical accuracy... read a book.
Our Flag Means Death (2022)
the guy from Flight of the Conchords is always good for a laugh
Sort of in the way Curly is the funniest stooge and often a stand-out and uniquely hilarious when accompanied by a great ensemble cast.
This was okay.
Australia (2008)
did I just watch Mary Poppins while I was smelling a kangaroo?
If this isn't a fever dream... I have to reevaluate my entire life. I'm gonna get off drugs and hire several Aboriginies to carry my bags and wipe my ass with vigilance.
Murder Mystery (2019)
Do Adam Sandler and Tyler Perry share a bunker?
Is there anyone on Earth who still thinks either of these men are remotely humorous?
Why did any of you ever believe that any of this was clever?
I'm done with humanity.
From (2022)
Prophecies...
The guy from Oz is gonna be awesome. He's always awesome
The little kid is gonna keep on being predictably awful
His sister is gonna get carnal with the guy from Oz's son
The mom's accent will never be explained
The somehow older version of Paul Rudd is gonna stick through to the end.
That tall, skinny girl who can't get right is gonna be hiding in the forest for at least 7 episodes.
The priest is gonna die in the next episode.
The Girl Before (2021)
Doesn't quite stick the landing...
...but better than most of the garbage on American TV.
Why is the dialogue in British dramas so much more realistic and more in line with the way humans actually talk than anything produced in America?
The acting in this is impeccable.
People say things without constantly using tired catch-phrases and it seems ultra-realistic at almost every turn.
And the story wasn't that great...
kinda stupid if you think about it...
but I'd rather watch this than the American version of Ghosts.
Peacemaker (2022)
the dialogue is always good
The DCU is like Burger King to the MCU's McDonald's. This show is as if the writers of Thor:Ragnarok got hammered and decided to stop caring about narrative.
I'm Sorry. (2017)
You're Welcome
Is a more appropriate name for this.
Some shows have some off-beat moments that don't actually fit in to the story and timeline...
20 more seasons of this would not get old.
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2005)
Douglas Adams deserved better
It was a worthy effort
but it does not do justice to the only books that have ever made me laugh out loud
Sam Rockwell is a bright spot in this disappointing bit of nothing
mostly harmless.
New Girl (2011)
Happy Endings was a decent show
Why did they recast all the main characters and make them less interesting?
The New Girl obviously has brain damage.... why is she not immediately admitted to a wood-chipper?
Nick is a realistic character.... who would definitely fall in line with any situation that supports him still living in a nice loft
The womanizer guy who becomes more and more effeminate throughout the series reminds me that I am watching a show that has no direction
Happy Endings was a real show? Correct? Or was it what I hoped this show might be?
The main black guy is a prankster, so it's fun!
The Indian woman only reacts to white people problems. Why did I watch any of this?
Side note: Why does the effeminate guy speak the way he does in later episodes? No gay guy speaks like that. No human speaks like that.
Anyways: feed the New Girl in to the wood-chipper.
I Can Do Bad All by Myself (2009)
I get it
I totally get it now...
Tyler Perry's film career is a decades-spanning, insidious, soul-crushing practical joke...
His "artistic" career should have stopped HERE...
but me and my cohorts will keep it going until the ultimate reveal...
And here is the reveal...
And the reveal is....
It's totally gonna be awesome but my cousin is a character I would like to include
"Gonna be lit!"
my other cousin is 3 and she says... "LIT!"
Exactly cuz!
Tyler Perry has no talent to do anything entertaining, ever. SOOPRIZE white people and me included... we were just foolin' the whole time
gotcha!
Don't Look Up (2021)
The special effects are awesome!
The rest of this is inexplicably awful...
A decent premise...
Lots of A-list actors taking jabs at a full spectrum of idiots...
Vaccine-deniers and billionaire-astronauts get equal time in the pickle barrel...
And we also get a really stupid running joke Jennifer Lawrence is forced to keep bringing up...
This isn't a comedy cuz it isn't clever or funny...
This isn't a drama cuz the characters are paper thin and I do not care about any of them...
Is it a farce? No... cuz whoever wrote this takes the multiple subjects very seriously...
This feels like the movie I would write about global annihilation cuz I hate all life and I also hate anyone who is more successful than me
I hope they only took 1 take in most of the scenes like most Netflix movies...
I respect all of these actors...
but if you guys can do this... I can also be awful in a terrible movie.
What We Do in the Shadows (2019)
It's good in the way that banana bread is good
It tastes good and we all can agree...
But, not one of us seeks out banana bread...
The idea is original and I liked the movie...
I also could have done without it...
There are no laughs at all... just shaking my head agreeing with blood-letting...
Do people actually laugh when they watch the show?
This is a clever idea... humor isn't there.
Station Eleven (2021)
suspension of disbelief
Is an important aspect of fictional tales...
but, how is it believable in any way that the child just goes with a stranger in the first episode?
She wouldn't do that
He almost certainly would not even think about taking her anywhere before that call on the subway
It is far more probable that a virus results in a Shakespeare troupe that travels the countryside in a cone of ridiculousness... All of this is ridiculous
All of this seems like a fever dream...
I sincerely hope that the end game of this show is fever dreams all over the place cuz not one minute of it makes sense.
The Witcher (2019)
90's nostalgia
I didn't have cable for a minute in the late 90's so I watched a lot of Hercules starring Kevin Sorbo and Xena: Warrior Princess with my local antenna...
20-something years later we get this... monster-of-the-week fluff and a scattered main story.
I imagine this probably has a decent budget, but it looks and feels like a mid-90's low-budget candy-coated mistake.
It's not bad to look at, but it ultimately feels like you are sitting in the audience at a play put on by 3rd graders.
The Last Dragon (1985)
an acquired taste
Sho-Nuff is one of my favorite theatrical characters of all time
Not sure if anyone else involved with this "movie" actually knew they were in a movie...
My favorite part is when the main character's little brother calls him ReLoy instead of LeRoy and it made the final cut of the "movie"
in the same way my cousin used to call me EalMich and I refer to my mother as ErMoth.
Rhinestone (1984)
The Rock and The Taylor Swift of 1984
Imagine how awesome that movie would be!
Imagine Taylor taking The Rock away from pro wrestling to her world of singing to people and stuff and The Rock wasn't so good at it at first and then he got slightly better! Movie magic!
Raised by Wolves (2020)
Most of these SNL skits run on a bit too long...
...but if THIS premise was gonna live on for hours... maybe just have the Father tell dad jokes for 95% of the run time.
I struggled through 2 and 1/2 episodes before I just stopped being stupid.
I wanted to love the idea of this show.
This is a shartburger. I really wanted to like this...
This is bad. The right-wing racists are correct. This is straight garbage.
