Great Finale for a Great Show!
18 September 2021
Every Halloween Heist was always clever, crazy, and confusing as heck but it didn't matter because it was so ridiculously funny. What a great way to end this incredibly funny show and pay a heartwarming tribute to the characters. This one made me laugh AND cry. Nine Nine!

David Wayne

David Wayne, a great character actor who could play comedy or drama equally well is simply terrific in this episode, playing a miserable bureaucrat who gets arrested for being drunk and disorderly. It's a really good episode, but I miss Ron Glass's Detective Harris who doesn't appear in this one.

Grant Williams...
15 August 2020
I caught this episode the other night and was surprised to see Grant Williams of sci-fi fame playing Mr. "Prince". Watching him in this made me wonder if he could have had a decent career acting in rom-coms. He was certainly handsome and charming enough. All in all another sweet episode in the life of an average American family.

SOS: How to Survive (2017– )
3/10
Help...
28 December 2019
This is a very odd show. A survivalist named Creek Stewart recants stories of survival (a couple and their infant son are stranded in the middle of nowhere in blizzard conditions; a woman is the sole survivor of a plane crash in the Vietnamese jungle, etc.) and shows the viewer what to do to in order to make it out alive under such unimaginable conditions. But what I can't get around is the fact that the actual survivors, who retell their heart wrenching stories, survived their ordeals without any knowledge of Stewart's expertise. At one point he catches a lizard and roasts it over a fire. He doesn't explain how to build a fire in the middle of the Vietnamese jungle during the rainy season while suffering from the horrendous injuries incurred in a plane crash including a fractured hip. I guess, depending on your own personal travel plans, his advice on how to build a bamboo shelter in the middle of the Amazon jungle might prove useful.

Surprising Good
13 May 2016
This movies deserves a much better rating than it has here. It came on after something else I was watching and it sucked me right in, even though I'm not generally a fan of romantic comedies. It has the perfectly matched Angela Bassett and Brian Mitchell Stokes (who are always worth watching) as the wealthy parents of the bride, Sabrina, and Loretta Devine (who is out to sabotage the entire endeavor) as the working class mother of the groom, Jason. It also has some deep, dark secrets, a runaway bride and enough interesting side characters to keep the whole thing spinning. Set against the backdrop of a gorgeous Martha's Vineyard, all in all, it's a pretty enjoyable way to spend a couple of hours. I give it a 7 because it is what it sets out to be: a sweet little romantic comedy.
