Mayans M.C.: When the Breakdown Hit at Midnight (2022)
A serous drop in the writing standards.
EZ's speech on taking over the chapter was borderline infantile.
The death of JJ not much better as part of the incoherent attempt to make EZ Satan.
Not to be undone. Adelina is also turned from revolutionary to a contract killer in some right on display of girl power.
Only redeeming part was Felipes revelation to Miguel.
But to make sure no idiocy was left out. A lone man, presumably Angel, then gets to an unguarded warehouse contains millions in heroin and burns it. Burning is obviously a good thing but pathetically stupid to suggest it was that easy to destroy.
Such a disappointing finale.
Dune (2021)
Beautiful but....
Pretentious , takes itself far too seriously, wooden dialogue and plotting that lacks pace and flow.
The positive reviews from some suggest that story telling standards have declined so far that nothing else matters but the art direction.
Why bother with Part2?
The Ipcress File: Episode #1.6 (2022)
It was going reasonably well...
The early episodes were a solid 7.5 but by the final episode the plot fell apart and it descended into the realm of the ludicrous.
Too bad, good characters and good period touches but I am sure Len Deighton would be dismayed.
Quills (2000)
Lost money? What a surprise!
Pretentious and more focused on rebelling in its own efforts to shock than to inform or entertain.
A surprise that this could be made by the same person that directed the Right Stuff.
The Last Kingdom: Episode #5.5 (2022)
Not true to Cornwell
Story line suddenly becomes incoherent.
Not a worthy offering in Cornwell's name.
Adding insult to injury with a scene discussing marriage in 1950's not 9th century terms.
Red Notice (2021)
High hopes...dashed
A waste of talent weighted down by an lumbering script.
Hadith has the beauty but not the talent to pull on her character.
The Rock and Reynolds's replay a pastiche of prior characters, mugging for the camera more than acting.
