A real Sick-Flick
3 August 2006
And I don't mean Eli Roth Hostel sick. Nine year old boy seen through a sniper scope sick.

Charming Billy is about an "ordinary man" who lives an "ordinary life" in a small "ordinary town". The scenery is ordinary, but Billy himself is not. With the tragic loss of his mother and his fathers own sick twisted way of showing his son he loves him, Billy Starkman has grown up and lived his life without truly knowing what an ordinary life should be. And how would one deal with that? Well randomly off people from a water tower, of course!

The problem with his flick is it just didn't always add up. The acting was poor in crucial scenes, and fair in those where an over-the-top performance would be acceptable. Nothing about this film was entertaining, touching, scary...it just took up time.

Silent Hill (2006)
10/10
A disturbingly enjoyable experience.
22 April 2006
Silent Hill is the first movie in a long time to top my "favorite horror movies of all time" list. However I wouldn't say that Silent Hill is a horror, or a thriller, or a mystery...Silent Hill in itself is a nightmare. And when you wake up from that nightmare, you can't help but smile and drag a few friends in.

Silent Hill begins with Rose's daughter, Sharon, taking her "little walk" as she chants something about Silent Hill. It more or less runs much like the trailer for a good period of time, only more quiet periods in between the "darkness" scenes. Don't let this discourage you from seeing it though - the trailer is just the icing on the cake. The mixed emotions you might have felt while seeing the trailer for the first time will multiply ten-fold while seeing the actual movie. Thats the part that keeps you hooked.

Even for those who don't like horror, grab a few friends and dive right in.
