Believe Me: The Abduction of Lisa McVey (2018)
Refreshingly straightforward
As I started to watch this I began to think that the script was simplistic and the acting poor.
However, as it progressed, I found the portrayal refreshingly straightforward; it is factual without the unnecessary addition of made-up dramatic twists that have become the norm because scriptwriters and directors seem to think their audiences need constant thrills.
It also has quite a retro 80s feel in terms of the writing, directing and acting, which adds to the overall effect.
Well worth a watch.
His House (2020)
Expectations are disappointments waiting to happen
Extremely disappointing. This film can't make up its mind whether or not it's an attack on the UK's immigration policy, the prosecution case for a trial in The International Criminal Court and a middle-class stereotype of council estate culture. Watch The Crown; it's much more entertaining.
Grace and Frankie (2015)
Cringeworthy nonsense
Badly cast, cringeworthy nonsense full of dreadful stereotypes.
