Ghostbusters (2016)
it wasn't awful...!!
I went to see Ghostbusters in IMAX 3D. First, let me start off by saying that the 3D in this movie was the best i've ever seen in a movie.... by a landslide. Second, although the storyline had many plot holes and the characters were upsetting to watch at times, it did keep you entertained throughout the movie. Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy's characters had great chemistry to work with. Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones were both the heart and soul of the movie that kept the comedy and people laughing. Chris Hemsworth.... had no purpose whatsoever to be in that movie besides the fact that they needed to draw teenagers ages 13 to 18 to see a movie that was a reboot. Although it didn't match the original Ghostbusters at all, it did a good job of entertaining the audience and keeping them on their toes both with the plot and wanting more laughter. B+
The Houses October Built (2014)
Creepy and Fascinatingly Intriguing
When I stumbled upon 'The Houses October Built' on Netflix, I was hesitant, yet intrigued by both the trailer and the poster. Not many movies give us the glimpse of haunted houses on Halloween Night, especially to the found footage extent. Within the first twenty minutes, I was utterly bored, but did not want to stop without finishing. I'm glad I didn't stop, because it got creepier by the minute. The movie does explain well what to expect in haunted houses and the scary nature of the unknown when stepping inside. However, the movie does not do a good job (as many are) of explaining what the hell happened at the end to the characters and why were they being chased after. The doll girl... CREEPY! My advice, don't go in with high expectations and you'll be quite satisfied.
The Outfield (2015)
Not too shabby!
While this is Nash Grier's first motion picture and a lot of publicity has been given from himself on social media, he missed his mark in this movie. His acting was just below what it needed to be and he was not as consistent as they set up he was supposed to be. As the 3rd motion picture for Cameron Dallas, his acting was on par and very, very excellent. Joey Bragg, as well, is a very goofy person but did extraordinary in this movie as a socially awkward baseball player. All together, subtract Nash, and this movie would have been a hit! Storyline was incredible and the relationships were all star. This is either a hit or a miss to many people, not in between. It's up to you to decide. Take my advice, imagine Jack Sanders is played by a different character :)
