Undekhi (2020)
Average stuff with overhype!!!
Lot of unnecessary cursing, irritating characters and predictable storyline....feels like Alt Balaji type of material. The only saving grace is Dibyendu, he is master class and highly underrated!!! Have been his fan since the movie GOAL, watch it for him and his flawless acting.
Aarya (2020)
Technical Disaster
I watched first two episodes after too much hype was build, but couldn't go past two episodes since the camera kept shaking, jump cuts and lot of shots and editing. I assume it was done to make it look speak n fast but it gives headache and felt amateurish. This doesn't reflect work of Ram Madhwani. Even the characters and their chemistry their dialogues comes across as fake and forced. Instead of building the pace from the beginning they could have started slow to let the world sunk in and then move up the speed, not sure if the other episodes are any better. I genuinely try to watch it sometimes but can't muster the courage to go through the whole technical mess.
Sui Dhaaga: Made in India (2018)
A Film that gives warmth of a hand stitched sweater in chilling winter morning.
#SuiDhaagaMadeInIndia what a BEAUTIFUL MOVIE it is, there is so much to take in if you have the eye for it. Kudos to SHARAT KATRIYA for picking detailed characteristic about our society that most of us don't even notice. You stitched a story so well that I felt the warmth of it around me like those beautiful sweaters worn by Mauji. I cried at moments which were so subtle that it will go unnoticed by most. The HONESTY of your story and characters is just beyond words. Huge applause to the AMAZING CAST, it wouldn't be fair to name some as all of you did an amazing job ( EXCEPT ANUSHKA, who just couldn't get into it)....special mention to the Cinematographer, Costumer & Production designer. Last and not the least, Mauji aka VARUN DHAWAN, you made the character so real that I felt I could just touch you. Wish we could deal problems with the same enthusiasm and smile that you do. This film will stay with me forever!!!!! BAKI SAB BADHIYA HAI :D
Kaun Kitney Paani Mein (2015)
Worth of your Time
Had heard a lot about this movie but didn't get a chance to see it until today. It is not very surprising in our Bollywood that such movies slide away without anyone knowing about them. However, if we have enough strength to watch those masala packed entertainers than this should come fairly easy to us. This movies clearly shows a genuine effort of every cast and crew to weave a satirical story around plethora of issues in our country. I must admit I have a soft corner for Kunal Kapoor as I feel he is good talent wasted, and same so goes for Saurabh Shukla & Mr. Grover. Not only the lead characters have played their part honestly but the supporting cast is equally good.
Overall, the story could have been better like the songs but still is FAR better than most of our mainstream movies. It's definitely a one time watch, and through out the movie you won't feel bored at-least I didn't.
Tamasha (2015)
Strong, Emotional and thought Provoking
Tamasha: A movie that rattles your brain, and thus it goes unsaid that you need to use your brain. If you have adapted yourself to brainless cinema then I do not think you should even take a chance, because you will come out overlooking the delicate issues it has touched. Do this movie a favour, stay away from it and let it take a special place in the heart of people who really really care for meaningful cinema.
Real stars of #Tamasha are Imitiaz, Ranbeer, Deepika and Arti Bajaj (Editor). These three weave a Tamasha soo strong that you will hardly be able to get out of it. Imitiaz, take a bow sir you are only getting better and better with your art of story telling. And of course Ranbeer, I wonder if there is any character you can't play. Portraying such a complicated character with such an ease is a work of a real actor, there is something in Imitiaz that brings out the best in you. On the whole, Tamasha as a movie is so powerful that it will pierce you straight in the heart, only if you have and at the right place smile emoticon
Bangistan (2015)
A movie worth watching for
It feels bad to see such good movies not getting their due, I watched this movie very late from its release but I am happy that I did. From the day I saw promos of this movie, I so badly wanted to see this. The imagination and art direction of this movie is amazing, something really really innovative and new. The whole concept, cinematography, costumes, dialogues, locations and acting, everything is commendable. I accept this movie may not be funny as those brainless Bollywood comedies rather it is more subtle with genuine smile on your face throughout the movie. As I watched this I didn't feel bore for even a second. I wanted this movie to go on and on, there are several small small yet thought provoking lines that shows the brilliance of the writer.
I would recommend this movie to any movie lover, watch it for its simplicity, sensibility, and subtle comedy. You wont come out laughing but surely thinking and smiling :)
