I watched this series when it was first broadcast back in the 80s. I was a similar age to the main protagonists at the time so the themes struck a real chord with me. Although I am not from the Merseyside area I felt an affinity with the boy's characters with their desire to escape normality to seek adventure and excitement, I also recognised their angst with British society. I still reminisce about this series 40 odd years later and have very fond memories of the outstanding performances by the young actors. This series in my opinion was the early landmark series for British television in the 80s.

This brilliant 90s police drama series makes the more recent Line of Duty series look very basic indeed. I remember Between the lines being compulsive viewing and subsequently found line of duty to be a pale facsimile in comparison.

In my opinion, this is better than the Jonathan Miller version. I watched this late one evening on the BBC during the Christmas period. It scared me on the night and it has left a lasting memory of unsettling dread.

This movie was a wasted opportunity as is had the hallmarks of being a fast paced action packed thriller. Started off reasonably well with a nail biting opening sequence. But then seriously tailed off in the middle and ended up a mess at the end. Shame.

I went to see this film when it was released. I found it to be a difficult watch and nearly walked out at one point. This movie can never be considered entertainment but it is a genuinely disturbing portrayal of the banality of murder.

Watched this movie at the cinema back in the day and it scared the bejesus out of me!

No genuine laughs from start to finish. Completely mediocre. A bit like James Corden.

One of my top ten movies of all time. Scary and highly amusing. Fantastic special effects and an amazing soundtrack.
