How to Deter a Robber (2020)
fun times
It's a fun movie, better than I expected from a directorial debut.
Fate: The Winx Saga: A Fanatic Heart (2021)
disappointing
What was that transformation sequence? Did they finish all the budget after six episodes? Maybe not having the fairies transform was a good thing afterall.
Marrowbone (2017)
Truly a gem
I came in with little expectations, but this movie exceeds under every aspect. It is scary, but what really stands out is the love this family has for each other, a lvoe so pure it transcends everything. I truly recommend this little gem of a movie, it's sooo worth it
Daphne & Velma (2018)
Stop saying it's a bad movie. It's actually really good - if you belong to the targeted audience.
Sure, this movie could see dumb at first. But the thing is, if you're over 20 years old, this movie is simply not for you!
This is great for all the little kids who know the Scooby gang, it's a fresh take. More importantly, it can teach young girls to go after their dreams even in STEM (God knows we need more women in STEM!!).
To all the adults who just wanted yet another Scooby Doo movie, you're just too grown up! Stop complaining for materials that are clearly so not made for you.
Charlie's Angels (2019)
it's actually really good
I don't get all the negative comments.
As a woman, I am SO GLAD we didn't get to endure the way-too-revealing- costumes of the 2000s movies, as well as no scenes with full nudes.
I also enjoyed that there was no romantic plot (yes, there was one, but it was so small).
Thank you. Women are more than sexy objects that you either stare at or fantasize about. Cheers to these three smart, strong women, and cheers to a great, enjoyable movie that feels like a great yet more modern version of the old movies.
Nancy Drew (2019)
this show is not the books - but it still works!
I think all these negative reviews are too focused on the books and too little on the show itself. Yes, it's inspired by a book, but it also stand as its own thing, and to me - someone from Europe who's never read a Nancy Drew book and only knows she's a red-haired mystery-loving teen (or pre-teen?) - the show WORKS. The plot is well written, there are so many plot twists you wouldn't expect, the characters yes they may start off a little bland, but as the plot deepens so do the characters. This Nancy is captivating, the show is creative and refreshing - especially considering that mystery dramas are flourishing today. This Nancy is able to solve not one, but TWO mysteries at a time while involved in paranormal (therefore unlogical and not so easily solvable) stuff. Yes, it may not be the same as the books, but if you want a truthful adaptation of the books I think there are already plenty of movies.
