Dad's Army (2016)
7/10
Don't Panic Mr.Mainwaring! It's actually good.
7 February 2016
Dads Army (Like most 1970's British comedies)is a much loved T.V show that is still enjoyed to this day. Its characters and catchphrases are iconic and part of British culture. So when the news came that it was being remade in 2016 I thought that it was going to fail. I was shocked they were going to ruin the legacy of one of this much loved programme. But when I saw the film I was wrong. It was funny, well written and FELT like a British comedy. The cast were all fantastic (Bill Nye was great as Sgt Arthur Wilson) and the jokes were funny. Plus Ian Lavender and Frank Williams (Private Frank Pike and Reverend Timothy Farthing) are in it so keep your eyes open for them.

To conclude it was a fun, enjoyable film that I really enjoyed. Its not as good as the Dads Army show or the 1971 film but I still think its worth a watch.

Porridge (1974–1977)
10/10
Porridge. Probably the greatest comedy series in Britains history.
14 October 2015
The 1970's was a great time for British comedy. A lot of the most loved and popular stuff came out here like Steptoe and Son,Dads Army and Monty Pythons Flying Circus. However the one show that comes to mind the instant classic comedy is mentioned is Porridge.

Porridge is simply one of the most quotable and funny pieces of media I have ever watched. It is packed with wit and many jokes referring to 1970's pop culture (Even Kid shows like Magic Roundabout and politics get mentioned). It stands the test of time very well and has lovable characters like Warren and Mr Mackay. And watch out for the 1976 Christmas Special which is easily the best Christmas special I've ever seen.

Shows like Porridge demonstrate why British Humor was the best. I say was because British comedy has fallen hard since 1997 and rarely have there been anything good.

10/10. A masterpiece

Dexter's Laboratory (1996–2003)
10/10
A classic cartoon that is packed with fun, imagination and humor.
9 October 2015
Dexter's Laboratory was a favorite cartoon of mine as a kid. It was about a 8-year old called Dexter. Dexter was a very intelligent child for his age and loved making zany experiments in his secret laboratory. However his dumb sister Dee Dee loves breaking into his lab and causing chaos and mayhem. It also had references to Star Trek, James Bond,Star Wars and many other elements of pop culture so the show still holds up almost 2 decades later. The show even had a TV movie in 1999 that was incredibly entertaining and funny although it wasn't as good as the cartoon. I guess Dexter works best in small doses.

I give Dexters Lab a 10/10. I also recommend The Powerpuff Girls which the creator of Dexter's Laboratory worked on.

9/10
One of the all time great Hanna Barbera Cartoons.
8 October 2015
Scooby-Doo was a big part of my childhood and was one of my favorite cartoons (Alongside Dexters Laboratory,Powerpuff Girls,Hong Kong Phooey and Danger Mouse). My favorite character is Shaggy as he is funny. I love his voice provided by the late Casey Casem. my favorite monsters are Miner 49er,Black Knight Ghost,Captain Cutler and Captain Redbeard. Definitely a classic cartoon not to be missed at any cost although I suggest skipping the later episodes with Scrappy as they are awful.Plus Fred,Daphne and Velma are absent so it misses the charm of the classic 1969-78 shows.

9/10. Kids will love the adventures of Scooby and the adults will certainly have a nostalgic spot for him too.
