A Story of Nobility
31 July 2021
I will not be talking about the technical aspects of the film because all reviews agree that they are superb, as they are.

This review will touch on the plot and themes as some reviews here are cruel and say this is a boring film.

The Green Knight follows our hero from the time he is young man living in his community. He comes from wealth and seems to have a drinking problem. When one day a challenge arises and he accepts hence we have our story.

Our hero constantly battles himself and self doubt throughout the film. We also so many instances we see him do things not because it's his choice but because he's pushed. The final scene is all about him choosing to what HE wants to do. What HE believes is right. Nobility. The able to do what's right no matter what, nobility. What makes a Knight a Knight.

Birds of Prey (2020)

Birds are Prey
7 February 2020
This movie has its issues as all do. But it has really good moments as well. It follows the lives of all these "birds" and how they have been "preyed on by society". That is what this movie is going for and it does a good job of it. This is a legitimate girl super hero movie and follows such as its script.

What is the most heroic thing a girl in society can do?

Break out of chains and doing what they believe in! People like Rosa Parks, Harriet Tubman they all follow these kinds of acts. Overcoming horrific things and coming out at the other end

Think of this movie as a hyperbolic Female Super Hero movie and you'll enjoy it

Lenny Cooke (2013)

Leonard Cooke
5 February 2020
Lenny Cooke follows the story of a former #1 ranked high school basketball player and his challenges and struggles while trying to get into the league. The documentary style film-making makes it very easy to follow and gives a unique perspective. It amazes me how much footage was filmed during the 2000s but the movie really comes together and leaves an imprint on its audience.

The story is impeccable and very interesting especially to basketball fans. This movie isn't necessarily groundbreaking but has good core elements. It is my least favorite Sadfie brothers film but it is a doc so they dont get to play with it as much.

Overall very entertaining and better than lots of films out there today 7/10

About more than just Work
13 January 2020
Great film. The thematic aspects are spot on with great sound design and cinematography. The main themes follow finding meaning in work and being there for someone who is struggling and are portrayed wonderfully. Only nitpicks are a few botched deliveries, occasional generic editing and on again off again pacing. Overall a powerful movie that blossoms right before your eyes

Joker (I) (2019)
10/10
Definitely not a comedy
5 October 2019
The Joker. Where to begin. Maybe with the obvious...Joaquin Phoenix is terrific as everyone has heard. He puts so much emphasis on the psyche of the joker without it coming off too harsh. His performance is chilling to say the least and will definitely be getting some recognition.

Todd Phillips OMG. Where did this come from?? I really hope he moves more towards this genre as this thing is mastercraft. The thematic elements mainly the cinematography and score are superb. The stylistic choices make Gotham and the jokers world so dark and grim its impossible to take your eyes off.

This movie will definitely displease some people just because of the content, but when peeling back a layer it's a psychological thrill ride.

THE JOKER 10/10 SEE YOU AT THE OSCARS.

Ad Astra (2019)

Simplistic yet thrilling
20 September 2019
Ad astra depicts Brad Pitt's journey to avenge his father and find out what kind of man he truly is. The style paired with multiple gut wrenching deliveries from brad Pitt an emotional thrill ride. That's what this movie is about. Emotions and sometimes the lack there of. It creates a cloud of engrossement around what made Pitt the way he his and how it affects him.

Pitt's performance is marvelous and complex while you know he is distraught but it doesn't effect him. He is still highly capable which is somewhat frightening. The rest of cast works well but Pitt is the standout as he delivers an emotional journey billions of miles away.

This movie is about space but the true marvel is with the lines. The thematic elements highlight emotionality and the parallels with his father.

If you give this movie the though and the time it deserves you will enjoy it...so strap yourself in, you're "going to the stars"

Jackie Brown (1997)

Not alot to dislike
25 June 2019
Jackie Brown features an allstar cast who are all chasing Sam L Jackson's money.

The movie is acted very well and the casting is spot on. I bought every single character of this movie because it was acted so well. It is so much fun to watch all these characters and personality interact with eachother.

Pretty much every theatrical box is checked and my only main dislike is that it gets somewhat boring and dialogue heavy in certain areas.

If you liked Kill Bill or Inglorious Basterds definitely check it out 8/10
