Instinct (2019)
Wow, thats not how it works
Too bad, the dynamic between female therapist and male patient could have been a great set up for a movie. Im a therapist in a forensic setting and could tell you 10 stories that are real and way more interessting. They are completely missing the point in how it works and how it happens that a professional falls for a patient. Shes supposed to be expererienced at her job,but nothing she does makes sense to me, a real therapist
Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
Boring!!!
As a film on its own its a 6. But since it competely ruins the ending and thereby the symbolism of the original story of star wars i would rather give it a 1
Manchester by the Sea (2016)
Real life emotional movie. Maybe not for everyone
It's not a blockbuster movie, its not about great plot twists, action or grand moments in history. It's a moment in the life of people who have been through something very traumatic. So if your not in to that, its not for you. Otherwise this film is a must see. I would love to give it even a higher grade but for that I have to see if it stands the test of time and if its still a favourite of mine in a couple of years. It's beautifully acted and left me feeling all kind of things. And as Kidman put it so lovely: the film made me feel less alone. The ending is a little bit too sudden for my taste, but it makes sense and I wouldnt know how to end it differently.
Bombshell (2019)
Decent film, very good acting, not perfect, a 7,5
Oké so, I am a sucker for good acting and I think this is very nicely done. Also because not only the leading roles are good, but actually all the smaller parts are believable. Only thing is that I am not American so I don't know the real persons behind the characters, have no idea if the actors portray them well, and don't know the actual story. The film is not perfect, has some stereotypes, some cheesy scènes near the end and a clear message instead of letting the audience think and feel for themselves. But even so, for me they also somewhat show the 'other side' of the story and it makes me feel empathy with the role of Litgow (not sure I am typing this right) by times, which I think is powerfull because it gets the discussion going. Plus; I think the movie has some funny moments as well. Which is nice in a film about such a serious subject. So not a 10 or a 9. Also definitely not a 1,2 or 3 (come on you guys!!! Things like the I-land deserve those scores). It's a solid 7 going on 7,5. And worth seeing!!
TIME: The Kalief Browder Story (2017)
Interresting story, told terrible boring
I sat throug it because I wanted to see the end. But shot after shot was a repetition of what was already told. They have so may experts and other people saying the same thing over and over again. Missing a personal aspect of these people and their involvement, which is what makes a documentary interresting for me. No disrespect for the story and the importance of it. But told so boring and stretched.
The Witcher (2019)
Messy unclear story line and charcter development
Enyoable if your standards are low. I read the books afterwards to make a good judgement. The books have humor, good tension built, exciting romances and beautifil symbolisms which are changed, rushed or completely left out in the series. The world and story entertains but mostely me and my boyfriend were flabbergasted about all the weird choices that the makers made. My boyfriend is fan of the games and was very dissapointed. Plus he says the costume choises are horrible.
