Script problems
3 April 2017
An excellent series that falls foul of an ever increasing problem with British TV these days. I mean by that script writers using modern Americanisms. In this case,in the series two opener, English ladies in WW11 rural Cheshire twice used the word "snucked" (instead of sneaked),the phrase "have a good day" and also the phrase "you're very welcome". This would never have happened.

Tiger Cruise (2004 TV Movie)
Somehow Typical
16 June 2007
Somehow typical flag waving patriotism from Disney to the point of being almost sickly.Of course 9/11 was a terrible event, but this teenager rallies the troops and her father is a hero for doing what? The ship was never in any danger and he was only doing what he was paid for.For goodness sake, give me a break.Although the acting was very good, some other aspects of the movie left me wondering out loud----the kids were allowed to wander all over the place unsupervised and unescorted, the heroine actually gets to go on the bridge? An absolute no-no in real life. Some of the scenes were so unreal it was almost embarrassing, especially where the kids just stroll onto the flight deck unchallenged, there seemed to be a total lack of security on this vessel, contrary to all the statements by the Commander that it was ready for battle.

Being April (2002– )
Being April is poor
7 July 2005
I have only watched a few episodes of this show but have to say I find it quite appalling.Trying to be "politically correct" in the extreme it is so contrived so as be insulting to ones intelligence;April has been married three times-- to a straight guy,a gay guy and a colored guy and has a child from each union. Are we to believe the goings on in this highly fictional and equally highly unlikely scenario?I don't think so! The author is looking at a world he would ideally like to see not one that is real.It may be construed as an attempt to bring about, and smooth over some of society's ills, but for me it fails miserably;it is childish in the manner in which it approaches it's subject matter and is not helped by poor casting and acting.
