Fifty Shades of Grey (2015)
Why?
Why? Really, the book was bad enough but to make this into a movie, to show this to people and call it sexy when really it's offensive, stereotypical, damaging, sexist, and encouraging for rape culture? This is not BDSM. This is not safe, consenting or good s3x. This is Hollywood, once again, getting something wrong and thinking it's okay because shock value will make them money. But this has repercussions. People may watch this, because it targets people who are not knowledgeable, and may try to reenact this and call it a scene. This is dangerous and someone could get hurt, or wind up in an abusive relationship because it is show as okay in the film.
American Sniper (2014)
Terrible
What is with this year and antagonizing countries that don't like us? I mean, seriously? We already have problems with mosques being blown up and innocent citizens being terrorized for their religion but we needed this biased, racist movie to take that a step further? This is not a true account. It may be based on one soldier's story but it is a product of Hollywood and it should not be supported. We do not need this kind of sentiment being taught to people; we need to be more accepting and knowledgeable. We are at war; does the war need to go on forever? Will no one be happy until nukes are aimed at us? I discourage all people from watching.
The Interview (2014)
Don't
We have worked hard in the last 8 years to repair international relations. Even if it is just a movie, it has repercussions international. Maybe it will be viewed as a joke but still, it is racist and offensive and it is mocking another country, one that the US does not have good relationships. Any logical person would have realized that making fun of an enemy country, one we previously went to war with and one that has confirmed nuclear weapons would be a bad idea. I don't know how this became a movie and how it could be released to the public at all but again, Hollywood; they're not the brightest folks otherwise they'd be in a different industry...
In the Flesh (2013)
Could have been great
It's sad. This show would have been great. It would have continued to be great, is what I mean. I guess it didn't have enough Hollywood bullshit. It had the viewer-ship, just it wasn't like some other shows. It was incomparable and I guess for some, bullshit love triangles and sex as the main plot line is a must. I watched all the episodes in one sitting. Was disappointed when there weren't more. I had hoped Amazon would pick it up but *sigh*. Same fate as Firefly... (any fans out there? no? ) I'm hoping that somehow, this show will be saved but I know not to hold my breath; the acting, the story...it would have been so good. :(
Glee (2009)
Wow...No.
All for shock value. False representation and just- It could have been good. :( But what happened to teaching about acceptance and actually talking about teenage issues? Sex was the main story line, and love triangles, jealousy and cheating. And sexuality only had two settings; really gay and straight. Yeah, this is totally what life is like and what people should be doing... Or that's just Hollywood's version I guess. Very disappointing. I started this show in high school. I only checked up on it a few months ago. I had stopped watching when they used teen suicide to get views but they failed to say anything about it. Unrecognizable in the end. I also don't know what awards this show could have won but whatever.
Teen Wolf (2011)
Don't kid yourself
So Jackson goes to London, Malia takes his storyline but they can't seem to decide if Malia is 13 or 21. (They have the same problem with Meredith) and oh, what, Lydia is already 18? But Stiles is not 17 yet? WTF is wrong with ages?
Also, baby-wolf Derek has to be the stupidest storyline ever. I had high hopes after the nogitsune but going to Mexico, Malia "only loving Stiles" which is disgusting and abusive, the whole Lydia and Parrish sexual tensions (oh, just what the show needs, jail bait?) And isn't it wonderful that Allison doesn't get a funeral, Isaac just disappears in Paris, Stiles never gets to recover from possession, and how all the female characters get no development what so ever unless it has to do with a male character? I mean, you'd think season 5 which is Lydia's arch would be, you know, about her...I could go on and on about psychiatric regulations, shock value attempts, high school admission policy but it's self explanatory.
This show is bullshit and it's all MTV and Jeff Davis have. How sad.
