Shelter in Solitude (2023)
A Story of Redemption for the Ages
Superb plot, acting, and sets. Siobhan Hogan Fallon has created a story for the ages about loss, loneliness, failure, isolation, commitment, friendship, humanity, and redemption. While this story appears to have a singular trajectory that focuses on the relationship between the two main characters, there are multiple examples of broken people just trying to do their best, experiencing all of the above in smaller ways. Siobhan Fallon Hogan's character, Val, strives to "serve" to the best of her ability, the death row inmate, Jackson and she does so with humility and tenderness. Val expressions of service are metaphorically rich leaving this viewer and others in stunned silence during the closing credits. I urge everyone to see it.
Americonned (2023)
Time to stand up and push back
This important documentary exposes the chain of historical and current events that have now made it impossible for the majority of regular Americans to achieve, much less touch the hem of the "American Dream." This film doesn't make connections- it REVEALS them.
The film follows the stories of several American families who have watched their livelihood disappear, historical footage, statistics, judicial and political events, all interspersed with interviews with experts evaluating what has led to this point. It's a dangerous place to be right now and we can't ignore it. Everyone needs to watch Americonned.
Rushed (2021)
Riveting, powerful film. Incredible casting
From the first scene I was riveted. The hazing scenes gutted me. Siobhan Fallon Hogan, as the lead character, is completely convincing, as is the entire cast. This is an important film based on something we all know occurs on college campuses; a powerful story which takes a surprising turn.. There are so many gems in this film. See it.
