More similar to The Platform than Squid game
20 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
It's not like the Squid Game, if you've seen the Platform where higher level have more "power" or control than the lower level, but even there it's different as they need to meet outside of their floor.

It become quickly gore and violent, as different conspiracies are taking place.

Some time it does not make any sense, as for example in the final episode, they could have switched floor from the eighth floor even after first floor lose its billion, or transferring some money from 8th floor to first floor for him to get back what he lost.

Also they fixed the first floor phone at the end, but why they did not fix the one on the third floor to buy a gun as well long before this episode?

Or the watchers break their own rules at the end when first floor die, the rule is very specific death is not an option...

Some inconsistencies but if you liked The Platform and the Squid Game, you're in.

A good reality show based on the famous series
3 December 2023
Decors are astonishingly accurate. The environmental feel like they are playing in the original series.

It's US people, thus the players are over acting and annoying, but passed episode 4 when a lot of them were eliminated, personalities start to show up and tension appears especially with supplemental or unexpected tests.

They took most of the original games (yes the glass bridge is also there) and they added few new games like in episode 9 "circle of trust" was absolutely EXCELLENT! This shows the true face of the contestants.

Overall it's an excellent show, tension is rising, I did love the selection with the picnic to kill all pairs, that was "vicious", but hey what a clean up, LOL.

Yeah I love this show, and I hope that there will be more "Challenge" seasons as well.

Blue Beetle (2023)

Not a superHeroe but a SuperZero
22 September 2023
I'm fed-up with the "pseudo" problem people in movies get to have superpower and don't want to fight, or use them, that's all BS.

Screaming... In the thrall of the Scarab, Jaime starts screaming. And screaming. And screaming. Screaming as it rockets him through the roof of his house into the stratosphere. Screaming through city streets. Screaming as he cuts a bus in half in a ground-level flyby.

Screaming too at his transformation are the members of his family. Much, much screaming.

Screaming while fighting, screaming that he does not want to fight, screaming family, this movie should have been called "The Screamers"...

And I don't even get to the many non sense, like Blue Beetle doesn't want to kill. But the Uncle is willing to stab people with the bug mobile legs. Grandma machine guns down security guards just doing their job.

It's a very good series, even if you don't like the very last episode
9 September 2023
More than a good series, 3 seasons of 6 episodes, ans tension going up and up as well as powers.

For the last episode in season 3 that a lot of people did not like, personally I don't care as for me it's finally the end of a series instead of continuing a new season with emptiness...

I would have preferred than Magne ends up with Saxa in the last episode, because in the mythology... JárnSaxa had a son named Magni with Thor, this would have been a nice pun.

Acting was good all the way especially actors playing Magne (Thor), Laurits (Loki), Saxa (JárnSaxa), Fjor (a Giant), Ran (a Giant), all very good acting.

Ragnarok is a Norwegian fantasy drama streaming television series reimagining of Norse mythology from Netflix. It takes place in the present-day fictional Norwegian town of Edda in Hordaland, which is plagued by climate change and industrial pollution caused by factories owned by the local Jutul family. The Jutuls are actually four Jötnar (supernatural beings) posing as a family.

They are challenged by Magne, a teenage boy who is surprised to learn that he is the reincarnation of Thor, the Norse god of thunder. He begins to fight against those who are destroying the town after his friend dies under mysterious circumstances. In the second season, he is joined by more people who embody other Norse gods.

The most boring movie that will kill you by being over bored
2 September 2023
Good performances. Good characterizations.

And... that's all

3 hours speaking, 3 hours of interrogatories, trial alike and so on

Such a boring film nobody is going to watch twice.

Horribly boring film with no action, only people talking and talking about really uninteresting things.

They tried so hard to make viewers feel something increasing the noise level at some points: free explosions or bumps for no reason, strange loud violinists, turning up the music BECAUSE YOU MUST FEEL THE EMOTION, THE SITUATION, even if nothing happens. So overrated film. Crap.

You will never learn how hard they worked to make an A-bomb, it's all about politics and tribunal, THAT'S ALL.

Some fun

First 3/4 of the Pilote and last 3/4 of the last episode S4 and
16 August 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I watched the first 3/4 of the first episode (S01E01), then immediately the last 3/4 of the last episode of season 4 and I got it all, no gap to fill needed and it was like watching a movie.

NO need to lose time watching all the intermediate seasons, no need for all episodes just filling empty space.

They disappear for 5 years, then at the end they take back the same airplane (going out from lava), take off and return in the correct time line in 2013, the survivors will recall those 5 years, thus their new life will change, end of story, done!

Why I did that? I really start to be bored near the end of the pilot, thus I went straight to the last one and I don't regret it, what a time saving.

Suprizingly good
14 August 2023
It's a story of a young woman which become a warrior by hard training and there is a sub-plot to discover watching this nice movie.

People speaking about slave trade and bla bla bla about this movie did not watch that movie, that's not possible, the slave trade is just the background of the story!!

Yes just the background of the story, NOT the story itself, thus those people have a serious political problem.

The movie itself is well written and the acting is more than good IMHO it's EXCELLENT from all actors.

I did not expect anything from that movie, first the title, "The woman king" title which is strange for me as a woman king is ... a queen... I mean what a strange title, but in the near end of the movie you understand why it's called the woman king.

Over all a very nice, quick to get in movie! I really did like it a lot. Many actions, many times to get deep in the characters and even this usually boring part was not boring at all, it enrich the movie, as it was really interesting to follow the characters.

Yes I did love everything from that movie.

The Flash (I) (2023)

They found a way to change actors in the future
22 July 2023
So the actors that you knew playing Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman for sure they will be replaced in any next DCU...

I think "The Flash" was made for this to happen.

Now, the movie itself, some fun moment, many thing I did not like, like the representation of the "intersection" when the flash was in its bubble, does not make any sense.

CGIs some are fair, a lot are from a series z category, especially the faces they looked like they were draw half 2D, half 3D.

In the end I am very mitigated about the purpose of this movie, hals good, half bad and I did not like the end at all, it opens the door to anything even the worse like changing the main good actors we have to use.

Good season one, season two took a turn that some did not like
9 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Season one was a good start, deep characters immersion, with a good story.

Season two was something else with more espionage, coup, slides and political jumps, a lot less on the asteroid focus.

During season 2 I started to hate some characters, like Jillian, to like others like Alycia, Croft and Alonzo.

The coup what stupid in my humble opinion, also the character who player the president Bennett was over acting, if I can say that.

The end is just not expected, I don't know what a third season would have been with ETs. May be more intrigues like the old V series, but in the end it's good that it ends, because it was really starting to be a soap opera.

Thus 2 seasons was good enough and well made, but between the first season and the second, it's a bit like watching 2 different series.

Worst lead characters ever
28 May 2023
The movie could have been great, if they had fired the people which did the casting.

There is absolutely no chemistry between the lead characters! You feel like two strangers forced to play together.

Other than that, it's a good movie, the story is not exceptional but it holds you all the way.

The visual effects were very good, aliens of all types, all good.

Fighting scene with the species that wanted to eat was ridiculous, the lead male actor was way too slow, making this scene an absolute no.

The leading female actor was better when fighting, but still not so convincing.

The sound is not that good, the background sound was near absent or very poor.

Something is really wrong with the two main characters.

2 minutes 15 seconds
4 May 2023
I love this scene, I cannot count how many times I did watch it again and again.

Facial expression of all actors in the briefing room were excellent, all the actors are excellent.

Rooster is perfect as the son of Goose, Hagman... I want to see him in a next top gun iteration, it's a promising role, as a matter of fact, if there will be a "Top Gun 3" all actual actors deserve to be in the next iteration.

I'm an old fart, I did watch the first Top Gun in my twenties, there were no internet, no cell phone, home computers were very rare, Top Gun was the first of its genre with incredible view from the pilot cockpit, speed of the jet-fighters was also a huge factor, and so much more.

This sequel is in the pure style of the first Top Gun, the Maverick character/personage has evolved, grown, and it was nice to see it and not just a "remake" of the first one.

Overall, yes this movie get me back some 35 years ago joy when I saw the first one.

I did like it... a lot!
9 January 2023
The story line might be a bit superficial, but I did like The Rock in this role, he fits well in it.

I don't understand the negative review, from people reading just comics books, in my opinion they should just continue to read the comics, and do not go to cinema, staying in their own world if they don't want things to change a little bit.

It is action packed, vfx are nice, even some funny meme.

I did like the performance of Pierce Brosnan, a bit less the guys with the wings, I felt he was over acting.

So why 10 out of 10, if I criticize few things, because over all it was a good movie that I can watch and re-watch again, and still enjoying it again.

That was good!
3 September 2022
I enjoyed this movie from the start. And it's a 3 hours movie, but you don't get bored at all.

Action sequences are very good, well made and creative. There is romance as well, funny, heart breaking, everything is in there.

Story is good as well, actors are good, music is good, YEAh, I mean it's a good movie to have a good time in watching netflix, it get out of the "traditional" road, but what a good drive!

In the end, I'll recommend to watch it for all the family, it's PG13, but my younger kids did truly enjoyed it as well.

I will certainly watch it again another day as I truly enjoyed it, I just got 3 hours of relaxing, heart feeling, and action packed time.

Not great, not bad, watchable
30 August 2022
Low budget means also low budget for actors, directors and so like special effect, but people come down deep in a rabbit hole to try to turn them down as deep as they can even if they have to lie.

This movie does not deserve to be turned down that way as I saw in most comment.

It's a watchable movie, acting is not horrendous, not the best for sure, but not that horrendous.

Story was interesting especially the ending, I stay glued all the way to the end, which I liked.

I did NOT regretted my 1 and 1/2 hour watching it, and might even recall some part of the movie like the banter conversation between the two brothers at the very end in the pentagon.

Rule of 80/20 percent
26 May 2022
80% women... That's why they called it "Strange New Worlds." In all case it's better than that STD disease.

Having said that, this new iteration of Star trek is more in line with the original series and TGN in many ways.

Still, I miss "The Orville".

That was great
12 April 2022
I specially liked the first four season!

The last 2 season were good as well, different as the ring was there, but still very enjoyable.

Each character are deep, well acted, the different story lines are well written, it's a great show.

Better in Russian with English sub
26 March 2022
I did watched it dubbed in English version first, it was ok... a 6/10

then I watched it in Russian with English sub, and I felt it was a different movie, I understood that actors were good!

A Night and day comparison.

Don't make the mistake to watch it in English, but do it in original language + your preferred language sub-titles.

A modern version of the Prisoner from the 60-70s, sort of.
28 February 2022
Yes I might be exaggerating as it's quite different, but in a way this show reminds me "Number six" who desperately tried to escape that island.

I miss The Prisoner's show, thus Squid Game fills it very well and even beyond.

21 February 2022
BORING!! Boring.... so boring as hell!

I want my 2 hours back!

The only joker I loved was in the "Dark Night", this one was very talented.

There is no logic in this movie, producers are as sick as they joke(r), nothing in the brain.

Foundation (2021– )

That's a good sci-fi!
30 October 2021
I did read the 3 first original foundation's books 25-30 years ago. No need to say I don't recall really the characters, but I do recall the story of psychohistory, Seldom and so... that was a great reading, I did truly enjoyed the 3 books.

Now about this series, this is not bad at all, it's a good sci-fi, beautiful visual effect, does it follows the books, not like in the books, but how to put 1000 years in a series, knowing they will need to change the characters every... 2 or 3 episodes?

So let's face it, it is inspired from Asimov's books, but do not follow the time line as it is written, so I take it as just a new sci-fi series, that's all, and it's a good one!

I don't care if it's called "Foundation" like the books, it's just a nice series and we will see where it goes ;)

The title made me think that it would be cheesy
30 April 2021
But after watching it for only 2 minutes, I got hooked! Yes immediately, you will not wait to be hooked!

This documentary might has been one of the best documentary I've seen in the decade.

Anthropomorphism was a bit on the down side, but it was very OK as it builds the relation between the diver and the octopus and made this movie interesting, we are only human after all.

Prepare pop corns, and a tissue to dry your eyes, very nice documentary.
