Slam (2008)
A great family movie
I watched Slam with my girlfriend and we both liked it, even though, it might be a movie for a younger audience. There was a decent suspense in the movie, the story was cute and we were not bored for a single minute. Editing is very good, and overall it is a very motivational and a good-vibe movie. The director did a wonderful job, the cast was great and main characters are very sympathetic. Slam was a good Saturday night time waster.
The Northlander (2016)
Exciting little adventure
I watched this movie at a festival, in my city, and both me and the audience were pleased after the ending. I wish there is more movies like this one, its story is set in a very distant future, but in that future, nature took over and humans are practically living in a post apocalyptic world. Humans are divided into clans where food and water is scarce. A charismatic guy named Cygnus is trying to save his people and this movie is about his journey. The script is very well written, and I liked the ambiance, the scenery is perfect, and all the actors did a decent job in portraying their roles. I strongly recommend viewers to give this movie a chance, I give it a 9/10 star rating !!!
Olympus: Daedalus (2015)
The Harmony of Kingship
There is a lot more to Olympus than meets the eye. Above all Daedalus is an episode that like all others focuses on building on top of the previous one. I like the use of sound in this episode such as in the introduction. This is something that I believe Olympus has always done really well with, and that's the reason why I give the filmmakers the biggest support for making this finely entertaining episode. The music in the beginning after the opening scene is very mysterious and creates a mood that very much feels like fate on the inside. On the downside I feel that the introduction is a little too long, and the escape is so obvious too. I mean if the enemy is smart enough in the TV show he would've seen it from far away. I just don't buy some of the scenes like this because they just seem too gullible for me to believe whatsoever. Apart from that the episode has a lot of positive sides to it and I would still watch it. Despite everything the episode has spectacular promising qualities.
Jack Vale Offline (2015)
Not bad at all
Jack Vale happily adds a touch to his humor, and it comes out fun and whimsy the way that all good comedy should. If Jack can keep this thing up he might even be the next Jim Carrey. I don't really like some of the pranks though as they don't seem funny enough to me. However the family he has are a nice group of people who look good together. I love the current episode I watched. I thought that the family's interactions and the process of how they carry out their pranks was excellent. The light bits of humor here and there plus the reactions we get from the people being pranked add up to great comedy. Don't be too bothered by the bad stuff either. Some of the episodes may not seem funny at first but you'll get the joke in the end. However I have to say the only negative thing about it is that Jack is not necessarily the best comedian on television. Some of the humor is too old school in my opinion, but maybe it's just me. Besides that everything else is cool with me at least. Show looks cool and I love the importance of family values.
Olympus (2015)
The Good and Bad in Olympus
I thought that the acting in Olympus was decent but could've been more improved in some areas. There are some parts of the episode that I just found strangely annoying and completely unnecessary. For example I still don't get why the Cyclops was painting Hero's feet at the start of the episode. Another part that I thought could be better described is what King Minos the opponent of King Aegeus looks like so that the viewer could get a bigger understanding of who is the enemy and who is the protagonist. I couldn't even tell the difference between King Mino's troops at the fighting scene and King Aegeu's troops. However I have to give the filmmakers some credit for the set designs they used and for the good acting. Also I though the scene of Queen Medea bleeding her son for answers to the riddle of the Lexicon was interesting. The lexicon is more than just any old riddle. It is literally the key to immortality. I think that some things could have been stronger in the film and weren't done well enough. Nevertheless I have to say for a TV series I think this is not too bad.
