Sender (2020)
Huh?
It was far too esoteric with very little explanation as to what was going on. This was some serious borderline psychodrama and it made very little sense. It had no satisfying ending one way or the other. You didn't know who the good guys or the bad guys wear or who any of the guys were for that matter. I was rooting for a zombie apocalypse to finish the whole gang off and end the nightmare that this particular movie seem to be. Most uncool.
The Road (2009)
What happened to the planet!?!?!?!
I'm a fairly big fan of Viggo Mortensen and Charlize Theron. Not a fan of post-apocalypse movies that don't explain anything about what happens let alone endings that donut and well. I prefer to leave that in the hands of Stephen King who is very good at those kinds of movies and books. I like my Syfy to be fun adventurous and leaving you feeling good at the end instead of with a vague sense of hopeless emptiness that these movies seem to elicit. Reminds me too much of the kinds of movies that were made in the seventies that were so dark and depressing.
The Shack (2017)
Total home run!
This movie hit me like a deer in the middle of the tracks of a 600mph bullet train that came and hit you straight on. It is one of the most heart-wrenching and wonderfully spiritually revealing movies I have ever seen. I am not the same after seeing this nor will I ever be. It may not have a "Christmas movie" label on it but it absolutely says everything about what this season is all about. I'm not ashamed to say that I could not keep a dry eye through this entire movie and it is inspired and anointed!
