Keeping Faith (2017)
FAR TOO CONVOLUTED
We tried hard to follow the story line but it was too mixed and so have decided that enough was enough and not to bother with Series 2.. Feel that someone has been watching too many of the old Wallenders and tried to make a copy and it has not worked. Terrible use of a very good actress.....too many scenes of her crying, angry, annoyed etc
The Greatest Showman (2017)
Great film - Critics wrong!
Saw the film - the Sing-a-long version in a packed theatre yesterday afternoon and you should have seen the joy on the faces of the audience who were singing loudly along with the film. Never have the critics got it so very wrong
The Last Man on Earth (2015)
A sad waste of resources
This could have been such a good comedy series, the title of this review says it all. I have seen the first four episodes and it really is very bad..... There is a good story line and the settings are quite brilliant, the producer certainly appears to have the necessary resources but maybe the wrong actor/actresses was/were chosen. I had a terrible feeling after the first episode that this follows on from a string of similar type series which are basically good ideas and somewhere along the line the end product just doesn't match what was intended. Think about the recent series such as Under the Dome, Fast Forward.
Minions (2015)
Brilliant
I am in my sixties and did not know what to expect but I and the rest of the audience, half youngsters and the rest mature cinema-goers loved the film. It was excellent from the very beginning to the end - that is the very end as patrons were warned not to leave the cinema before all the credits had finished rolling. I can understand why youngsters love the film and why our supermarkets are full of all the Minion bits and pieces. I learnt from the cinema manager that many were returning for a second viewing because the fun comes so fast you may miss bits the first time round. I do hope that another film will be available for the Christmas 2015 holidays
Doctor Who: Vincent and the Doctor (2010)
One of the very best Dr. Who productions
For those who have not seen this episode I would strongly recommend they obtain a copy and for those who watched it the first time sit back and enjoy it again. It is clear that a real effort, no an extraordinary effort was made by the production team with this episode. I'm not sure why but so glad because the finished product is first class. The last five minutes,no giveaway, is the sort of TV that should have won awards - why didn't the BBC put this episode up for an award I wonder? I originally saw this episode over in France and the reaction was excellent with rave reviews - we saw the film on a large screen so much better than a small TV set. Think all Dr. Who episodes look so much better on large screens.
