Indie Film Adventures (2005)
Better than that Life Aquatic
Yeah, this BraxtanFILM has been sweeping the Film Festivals near and far. Being one of the few films they've done on Film as they have used Digital Video for quite a few years, makes it a memorable and enjoyable short film by those Braxtan guys.
Heath was great in the video, and so was Tim Johnson. Yet I don't understand why the hell J. Michael Weiss is in front of Tim's name on their website; when all Jason did was babble in french and get slapped around.
Now you IMDb punks had better put "Return of the Ghostbusters" up, and take down that 'Ghostbusters in Hell' thing we all know that won't ever happen.
Dead & Breakfast (2004)
If this was a porno, I'd say GREAT
OMG, I bought this yesterday along with a copy of Man with the Screaming Brain. Watched it last night, I'd say it wasn't as good as say Shaun of the Dead but this one's brilliant and it's one of the few Semi-Zombie movies that actually explains where they came from. The songs in between are so funny.
During the Credits "This was always such a quiet little town, We never had too much trouble around here. But then that spirit got released and now we're haunted by the deceased. And now there's all this crazy Sh*t that's going down here" Is the catchiest song I've heard in a while.
I also got to see the last few minutes of it a HorrorFind last year so I had to get this.
Spoiler Alert My favorite part was when Possed Johnny says to David "So when were you gonna tell Kate you F*cked my cousin?" then David goes "That is SO wrong". Of course Kate heard that and kept nagging him about that until her untimely demise.
Man with the Screaming Brain (2005)
Me Gusta Mucho Compadre
I recently became a Bruce Campbell fan (thanks to Bubba Ho-Tep) and I finally got a chance to meet the "Ultimate B Movie Actor" at Horrorfind 2005 in Baltimore, Maryland. He was promoting his new book "Make Love the Bruce Campbell way" as well as this little number.
(At the Costume Contest the Anchor Bay Representative mentioned a little film Bruce Campbell did for Scifi earlier this year "Alien Apocalypse" which immediately caused Bruce to smash his head on the judge table repeatedly) Thankfully this is MUCH better than Alien Apocalypse.
When people say the actors suck and dialog is terrible, they're comparing it to "A" movies like War of the Worlds or Star Wars or whatever the hell kids these days are into. But the fact is "B" movies are the only movies that still have a shed of originality.
Fact: Of the top 10 grossing movies this year, 6 were either a Sequel or a remake.
Man with the Screaming Brain is the single most original film I have seen this year (not including "Pinata, Survival Island"). I would also be so bold to say it is the best Scifi Channel movie EVER.
(Please note that I was not bribed into saying it was good, even though I am now the proud owner of an Autographed Man with the Screaming Brain poster)
BTW Ted Raimi played the single biggest loser in the history of movies (not including 75% of the cast of "The New Guy')
