The BFG (2016)
6/10
Good for kids, so-so for anyone else
16 January 2017
I was dragged to see this movie last summer with my girlfriend because she thought it looked like a cute time-passer. I can't say I had high hopes, as I have never read the book and the film looked like nothing more than a high-budget Netflix movie, although I did have some excitement that Steven Spielberg was directing it and the CGI looked beautiful from the previews. After I walked out of the theater and recycled my 3D glasses, I was thinking to myself, "that wasn't too bad for a family movie, but did I really HAVE to see that?". There were positives- the visuals were spectacular, the musical score by John Williams was amazing as usual, and the performances were top-notch, but the problems were that I didn't find the movie rich in story or humor. It feels like a rip-off of E.T. only with juvenile kids movie humor, which made sense, due to the film having been directed by Spielberg and produced by Amblin Entertainment(hence the E.T. and Elliot bicycle moon logo at the intro), and it wasn't as heartfelt as the for-mentioned film, either. The attempts at comedy are amiable and suitably childish for the kind of movie this is, but at the theater I was in, I didn't hear much laughing out of any of the families that were watching the film. All in all, BFG will be enjoyed by the younger children, and anyone else won't hate themselves while watching it, but they'll still most likely be either checking their watches or playing games on their phone. However, my girlfriend enjoyed it immensely, so what can you do?

Better than The Force Awakens!
8 January 2017
After last year's mildly entertaining yet sometimes frustrating TFA, I was ready to give up on modern Star Wars. However, I saw the trailer for this film and I said to myself, "why not give it a second chance?" and I bought a ticket for a night showing the day the film was released into theaters. And I'm very glad I did. Rogue One is a fresh new take on different characters that are developed to be loved by the audience, although the same classic Star Wars feel is present with plenty of charms. For example: instead of the irritating Jar Jar Binks that doesn't fit in a Star Wars movie, a new comic relief named K-2SO is introduced as a sarcastic yet hilarious droid that doesn't need to incorporate childish fart jokes to be funny, providing the sassy humor that all OT fans adore. The CGI is absolutely seamless; everything blends in incredibly realistically with the actors and props, and the action sequences are some of the most creative I've seen at the theater this year; remember that glorious airport fight scene that Civil War showcased? Well, Rogue One tops that in as many ways as possible! Oh, and the Easter eggs, cameos and Darth Vader are just the icing on the already delicious cake- they will leave you jaw-dropped. Go see Rogue One, but make sure it's in 2D, as 3D will ruin the already amazing visuals. Have a blast!

Seriously, what's the genesis? This show is great!
3 December 2016
When I was a kid, there were a few Nicktoons I liked, and two true Nicktoons I loved- SpongeBob, and Jimmy Neutron. The reason why Jimmy Neutron is such a good show is its imaginative surrealness of the stories and the VERY funny cast of characters that are greatly voiced. Granted, it doesn't have the heartfelt core of some other older Nicktoons nor does it have decent animation, but it's all made up for in the show's twisted yet inspired sense of humor, creative plots and even some character development. There's plenty of goofy slapstick moments for the kids to dig, and there are some tongue-in-cheek adult jokes that are all kept in good taste. The animation may look cruddy, but it's part of the weird charm of the show. The gadgets created by Jimmy are possibly one of the highlights, showing off things you'd love to have in real life. Overall, Jimmy Neutron is a hilarious cartoon that all ages can enjoy, and it's also a great part of many people'a childhoods, including mine. Enjoy!

Rugrats (1991–2003)
2/10
The most overrated cartoon in existence
5 November 2016
I love cartoons. I really do- whether it would be the classics from the 20s-60s, the Hanna- Barbera shows, heck, even most classic Nickelodeon shows. This, however, is simply putrid and vile. As a kid, I hated this show, and I hate it even more today. There are several reasons as to why this cartoon sucks so bad- the crudely drawn animation, the annoying and oblivious characters, the overuse of bathroom jokes, and finally- the fact that people say this is a great show, even though it's overstayed it's welcome. Sorry, 90s kids, I agree with most of the shows you enjoyed in your childhoods, but this one is a true stinker. The "just for kids" excuse is not going to work on this one- there's lots of adult humor that's far too juvenile for children, and the jokes overall in this show fail to work more often than not- although the occasional chuckle does occur in a couple of episodes, admittedly, and that's the one thing that saves Rugrats from getting a 1 out of 10.

Funny as heck
15 October 2016
I went and saw this in the theater when it first came out, two weeks after opening day, to be precise. I barely heard anyone of the people in the auditorium laughing, but I laughed so hard and so much throughout the runtime of the film that I had to view the film a second time at home to spot other in-jokes and references, for which I missed so many of those! The animation is gorgeous; the colors, the designs, the effects and the backgrounds are truly a wonder to behold, especially due to the fact that this movie was animated by a company that produces direct-to-DVD kids flicks(they've also produced Beast Wars/Transformers, there you go, 90s kids), and the visuals make the most out of fun 3-D gimmicks, unlike other animated films these days. The true shining star of the film other than the humor is the variety of voice talents; all fit their roles perfectly and are hilarious as their characters. Ignore the naysayers and check out this underrated animation that gets just about everything right: the comedy, the animation, the voice acting and the heart. It's not a Lion King or a Shrek, but it's a great entertainment that'll both thrill the kids and the kids at heart.

What are you people complaining about? This movie was great!
26 September 2016
As a fan of the original two films, I had high hopes for this film despite all the criticism from the general public, and I went in with a grin, and I left the theater with the same face. Granted, I only counted 3 or 4 hard laugh-out loud moments and maybe I chuckled in few and far-in between jokes, but even though the movie wasn't prone to being absolutely hilarious throughout, I still had a goofily happy smile on my face throughout a lot of the inspired gags. The way the special effects are updated from the original movie is not only impressive for how much CGI has evolved, but the new monsters that were created were creative and also, as they should be, creepy enough to build up suspense, but also not too scary to keep the younger audiences away from the movie-viewing experience. But the cast, however, is the stand-out factor of this movie as their characters are love-able, energetic, and well-realized. Don't listen to the butt-hurt haters who just demand every perfect movie on a silver platter- check this underrated gem out before you judge it from the trailers. On the other hand, I honestly don't know if watching this in 3D is necessary, as there isn't much in the film that utilizes the technique all in all, save for the ghost puke slime gag that was already shown in the promotional material- the 3D isn't terrible, in some parts it looks nice, but the overall result is that 3D isn't necessary to get the full experience watching this. Go see this one!

Suicide Squad (2016)
10/10
Worth seeing more than once!
24 August 2016
After seeing the trailer before Deadpool back in February, I had high hopes for Suicide Squad, since DC films have needed their dose of energy and variety lately, with no humor and not a lot of compelling storytelling. The actual movie itself, however, did that and more- while watching this movie, I tried to find any flaws, but I didn't find anything that I disliked. Everything hits the right notes- the amazingly vintage song choices the trailers promised, the increased number of jokes, the cameos, the character development, the action sequences, the performances- the list goes on and on. One thing that needs to be addressed- Suicide Squad is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen, I laughed out loud more times in a theater than any movie I've seen this year- even the audience was cracking up, too! The action sequences are infinitely fantastic- I watched this movie both in standard 2D and 3D with IMAX, and the movie looks great in either format that can be chosen. I loved this movie so much, I'm already seeing it a third time with one of my best friends, and I barely see a movie more than once in the theater! Don't listen to all the haters on the Internet- it's what you want to watch, not what others instruct you to watch.

The black soldier turns on the blue and red supermodel- and it's excellent.
2 August 2016
I saw this movie twice in the theater- once with my friend and once with my family- both times were awesome, no doubt. Almost everything is on the top of totem pole of superhero movies- the acting, the script, the orchestral score, the character development, the effects, the list goes on. The backstory of Bruce Wayne is handled marvelously, with an already heart-wrenching scene at the very beginning of the movie that does more justice in the film later. Ben Affleck nails the character of Batman, providing loads of soul and tech-savvy goodness to boast likability from the audience. The rest of the cast shines here as well, from the witty performance of Jeremy Irons as Pennyworth to the charming character that Henry Cavill reprised from Man Of Steel. The visuals are outstanding, particularly the practical effects. How can Hollywood pull all this off, I have no clue, but they do a lot right, that's a surefire fact. Can't wait to see Suicide Squad pull many more practical stunts later on! Lastly, I saw the film at an IMAX theater in 3D 45 minutes away from my home and I've got to say, it was definitely worth the extra expensive price. Everything popped out of the screen like it should have, the crisp picture matched with the color schemes and the sound let out a mighty roar when it needed to. Overall, Batman v. Superman: Dawn Of Justice is definitely a winner for any DC fan or non-DC fan, whether you liked Man Of Steel or not. Every cast member shines as their characters, the visuals are beguiling as ever, and the heart is still present. It may not be for everyone, but it's a goldmine for me!

The Beginning Of A Great Era.....
29 July 2016
Tom And Jerry has been a historical part of many childhoods, including the childhood of the 15 year-old geek writing this review. Many generations of children in the present day are forced to soak up the blandness and laziness of modern cartoons, such as The Amazing World Of Gumball, Phineas And Ferb, Teen Titans Go!(my lord....), Sanjay And Craig, and so on. I wouldn't be surprised if they aren't enjoying them as much as the heads of Hollywood think they are, but if there's one thing I learnt from the animation format in all my life, I found that Tom And Jerry is much more significant than any mainstream Saturday morning cartoon, both historically and in my humble opinion. Take Puss Gets The Boot- the first of several shorts of the Tom And Jerry series, it might be completely different from most Tom And Jerry cartoons you normally see on TV, but I blame that on Cartoon Network's executives and chairman. However, you must remember the theory of evolution- change over time. Throughout the years, the animation in Tom And Jerry has improved in designs and textures, the number of characters have increased, the music has gone more complex, the list goes on. In Puss Gets The Boot, the characters look a little scruffier and less simplistic than the later shorts, Tom meows instead of yelping in pain(fun fact: the voice actor of Donald Duck at the time lended the screeching of Tom's character), and there's more of a reliance on African American stereotypes. What makes this short film so satisfying is that it shows that even in the beginning, Tom And Jerry still had it's charms of seeing this poor cat always failing to get what he desires, and the supposedly innocent little mouse getting the better end of the deal. This may be very well one of the best Tom And Jerry shorts, even if it had differences in what you'd usually see. Also, Mammy Two-Shoes is the stealer of the show, hearing her yell "O-U-W-T, out!" is just hilarious!

Hilarious, visually beautiful, awesome 3D effects
22 July 2016
The fifth Ice Age installment to come out in theatres, Blue Sky Studios has once again made me love this franchise. After the cute yet sometimes cringe-worthy Secret Life Of Pets and the good yet slightly overrated Finding Dory, I was expecting another typical average everyday kids movie, but what I got was a really funny family flick full of laughs for all ages. The whole theater was in stitches from how much they were laughing and giggling! The animation is amazing, from the photorealistic textures of the animals to the colorful backgrounds full of purplish vibe, and it makes great use of 3D effects, with countless gimmicks being thrown towards the audience and a fantastic sense of space in almost every shot of the movie. The voice actors are all energetic and they fit their characters perfectly, with Simon Pegg and Chris Wedge's priceless comedic performances. Overall, Ice Age: Collision Course is the only animated film worth seeing this year other than Zootopia, with everything you could possibly want from an animated family comedy. And by the way- Scrat is again the most hilarious portion of an already hilarious film!

South Park: Toilet Paper (2003)
Season 7, Episode 3
10/10
Probably my favorite out of all of the South Park episodes.
19 July 2016
Being a movie buff, this episode is comedic gold in parodying several classic gangster flicks, despite not being a fan of that genre. The episode keeps the fresh jokes coming at a consistent rate and it doesn't cheat it's way out with its gags by simply recycling past material, and the pop culture references are smart and full of wit, whether it would be a fake Silence Of The Lambs prisoner voice or a death attempt with a whiffle bat on a boat ride from Godfather Part II, it's an uproarious hoot from start to finish. Another thing that can be applauded from the writing of "Toilet Paper" is the positive message- you wouldn't expect such a thing from a TV-MA rated cartoon show, but it's in here and it's surprisingly well done without being too forced or thrown in on the spot, and it flows naturally through the runtime of the episode due to its justification. Bottom line: if any South Park episode were to win an award of some sort, it's "Toilet Paper", because out of all the episodes of the show I've seen, this has to have the best writing, best comedic timing, best script, and the best storytelling. All gags come with such sharpness and wit, and much of the screenplay is crisp and clever, which makes "Toilet Paper" my favorite South Park episode to date.

Absolutely hysterical! One of the summer's best yet!
30 June 2016
Not being a Kevin Hart fan, I did not expect to laugh as hard as I did watching Central Intelligence, because I had my expectations so low to begin with. Almost everything in this buddy action comedy hits the right notes- the execution of the plot, the chemistry between the cast, the performances of the cast themselves(The Rock was the bomb!), the execution of the humor, the charming anti-bullying message(wasn't cringe-worthy like other movies), the film's goofy self-awareness, the creative action sequences and most of all, the way the two main characters interact. What makes this movie genuinely funny is the entertainment Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart provide with their energy while improvising(Hart's at his best with his stand-up, here) their jokes- the whole audience was laughing heartily and loudly throughout the movie mainly because of this reason. It sounds like I'm going too fair on this movie because people aren't raving on and on about it- but for how hard I laughed during this movie, I'll shift my rating to a 9, as such an accomplishment deserves such a rating, especially for this non-Hart fan.

One of the best 3D shows around- excellent for both kids and adults!
15 June 2016
I went to Magic Kingdom a couple of days ago and this show was the first thing that I did. I saw this with my brother(who hates Disney, so he kind of disregarded this ride at first), my mom and her friend to pass some time while waiting to get on Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, as we had the FastPass times and we had nothing better to do than go see this. I loved it, my mom loved it, my mom's friend loved it and the opinion of my brother's was different, he had mixed feelings about the animation and the appeal to younger kids, although he did admit that the 3D effects were "impressive", so he called it "just OK". But I digress; I thought the animation stayed very true to the Disney characters when using computer animation, and this attraction exceeded every task it should have done- the 3D effects are realistic and extremely immersive, the humor is consistently hilarious, the story is engaging and undeniably imaginative, and the music choices are charming and fitting for the wildly creative storytelling. Honestly, any 3D show(or movie for that matter) can't get anymore entertaining and inventive while still providing lots of energy. I heard a lot of adults laughing out loud in the theater in certain portions of the show, so is this just for the kids? I think not!

Fun for the whole family! A keeper for any superhero movie buff!
11 June 2016
On May 6th, 7:00 PM, at a packed IMAX theater, there once was a group of four- a movie enthusiast, one of his best friends, his brother and his mother that was watching a little film released by Marvel Studios titled Captain America: Civil War. The previews before the film were either already viewed previously or largely unappealing(with the exception of a preview for Finding Dory). During the first act of the film, the group was certainly getting antsy due to the lack of events going on, despite the occasional great scene. However, once the first act starts to come to a close, lots of things started to turn up and as the film gradually moved on, it got better and better, one scene being topped by the next scene. The amount of humor starts to increase at major levels, the action starts to become more inventive and exciting, and the characters start to develop step by step. The two reasons why I have to give this film a 9 instead of a 10 are because one, the politics did confuse and bore me quite a bit during the majority of the first act, and two, the amount of non- action scenes with little to no tension did become bothersome to me. The rest of the film's quality- well, it's just pure gold, no doubt about it. Every set-piece that knows it's tone executes the scene so perfectly- the action is often engaging and having a high intensity level, the characterizations are fully fleshed out, the comedy is extremely brash yet frequently hilarious(Spidey had everyone in the cinema hall rolling) and the script is full of sharp quips and smart twists and turns. Not only that, but seeing all these Marvel heroes fighting each other for an estimated 17 minutes(such freshly imaginative use of IMAX 3D, by the way) will bring back childhoods of many(including me) that loved Marvel in the past. Overall, Captain America: Civil War is a slam-dunk great time at the movies, full of humor, awe, excitement and reasons why superhero movies can be even be enjoyed by non-fans of comics, and it will definitely stand as one of the best Friday nights I've ever had, and the rest of the audience in the theater I was in can agree with that, as they cheered the movie on fairly loudly at the end of the movie. Also, stay tuned for two post-credit scenes; you won't regret it for a second! And while the movie has great 3D effects, especially on a huge IMAX screen, the 2D version would be just as great if you don't care for 3D.

Go see X-Men instead- not horrible, but it could've been a LOT better
3 June 2016
First of all, I thought this would be a good way to pass some time and have some fun at the movies, as the trailers grabbed my interest. I saw this a couple days after it was released and came in with low expectations due to the mixed reviews, but I left the theater rather unimpressed. I felt that the movie didn't hoist my attention span enough for me to care about the movie in a lot of spots, mostly because I've seen it all done before. Same goes for the humor, which really disappointed me, because the trailers actually a few genuine laughs out of me, but in the movie, I didn't laugh as much as I wanted to, and the rest of the audience can be an example as evidence for my opinion- they only chuckled at the occasional spot, and nothing else was heard from the theater. I'll admit that the animation, soundtrack(Ozzy, man!) and voice-over work was pretty good, and there were some good giggles I got from the movie, if rare, but other than that, I pretty much wasted my time by heading to the cinema to see this movie, and I believe you shouldn't either. I won't say it's an atrocity, but I'm still sticking with my thoughts on this. However, if you want to go to the theater, I'd recommend seeing X-Men: Apocalypse. Trust me, I had a blast watching that, it has everything you would want from a movie- incredible special effects, gripping action sequences, fantastic performances from the cast, hilarious humor, a nostalgic 80s soundtrack, a ruthless villain and the icing on the cake- an imaginative use of 3D effects. Speaking of which, if you do happen to decide to go and see this movie despite my warning, see the 2D version, the 3D added nothing to the experience with little to no depth or pop-out moments.

Just as good as Days Of Future Past- can't wait to see what happens next
1 June 2016
On Saturday, I went with a friend to go see X-Men: Apocalypse because I needed to spend some time out of the house and with my friend I haven't seen in a while. I did see DOFP in the cinema as well and I highly enjoyed that one, although I don't remember much about it other than that fantastic Quiksilver scene and the ending, and I highly enjoyed this one as well! What makes this X-Men interesting is that it revolves around different themes and other items in storytelling than in most superhero films released in this day and age, and for some, it might be easy to confuse or frustrate. But I appreciate this new brand of storytelling in this film, I think what any comic book movie should do is make you think to make it unique in its own way, and this film does that to make it something genuinely special. Oh, by the way- Oscar Isaac NAILED it as Apocalypse, he's so intimidating to the point where I would watch it solely because of him! And although all of the action sequences are so much fun, there are two of them that stole the entire movie for me- if you thought Quiksilver's scene in DOFP was amazing, you ain't seen nothing yet! I'm already seeing this movie again in the theater, and I honestly think it's that level of worthy! Also, I did see this in 3D, and although it doesn't add much to the movie's quality, the added depth does look nice in a lot of certain set-pieces, so if you love 3D, then you'll probably get a kick out of this one, and I thought it looked cool enough, so whether you watch it in 2D or 3D, this movie's a lot of fun all around.

Gods of Egypt (2016)
10/10
A surprisingly good time at the movies.... just don't expect Shawshank Redemption-quality filmmaking
7 March 2016
I wasn't too fond of the commercials or the trailer for Gods Of Egypt, I just thought it looked like a B-movie from Netflix. I was bored and decided to give this a chance, even with all the negative reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. I actually had a pretty good time with this movie, despite the lack of appreciation from the other filmgoers in the theater. All of the action scenes will satisfy the 11 year-old audience because of the ridiculousness, and the adults will be instantly entertained. As for the CGI, it's not too bad actually, most of it looks really cool, but the green-screen is used way too much, which is my one downside that I had while watching it. The Sun God and the villain stole the show for me, they were just too awesome in those epic action sequences. Before you watch this movie, which you should, it's a really good time, see the 3D version, this is the only movie released so far this year that uses it correctly, and it helps the action look slicker and shinier and makes the green-screen look better and make the actors standing in front of it pop out more fluidly. Don't listen to the harsh people- just watch it and enjoy the fresh, crisp action and observe the cool visuals(like I said, see the 3D screening, it adds something to the superb special effects).

Deadpool (2016)
10/10
Overwhelmingly funny and action-packed!
13 February 2016
Deadpool is definitely a comedy worth seeing. I saw a packed screening and the people in the theater laughed almost non-stop, and my dad admitted that it was a film worth watching again. The action and special effects are loads of fun, but beware that there's a lot of blood and gore invested. Same goes for the humor-the gags are often juvenile and crass(such as sexual activity on a holiday or hinting at "touching" oneself's), so this is FAR from a family film. Deadpool is a great time at the movies, but just expect more adult material from the typical average Marvel film. If there's one thing the movie does often, it frequently breaks the 4th wall, and it's one of the really great things about Deadpool. This movie has everything you could ever ask from a Deadpool movie, and this is a strong recommendation for Marvel fans and adults everywhere. Also, stay after the credits AND during the credits-it will make you laugh your head off.

Best of the series so far!
6 February 2016
I walked in Kung Fu Panda 3 with high expectations and they were met, and more! The other two KFP films are gold, and DreamWorks shows that they can top themselves every time with their characters and story lines. The fight scenes are amazing, the animation is top-notch, the characters are lovable and the voice cast is lively-what more can you want? This comedy had me and the audience laughing throughout the entire experience, and I don't have one complaint about this gem of a film! The 3-D effects are also worth the extra money- not the best I've ever seen from an animation, but pretty good. The score by Hans Zimmer is also beautiful, it's completely fitting for every scene. Get your kids, grab some 3-D glasses, get some popcorn and sodas and prepare for an awesome thrill ride.

Toy Story 3 (2010)

Awesome movie! One of my favorite animations EVER!
28 January 2016
Back in 2010, I was living in Spain, and me and my family went to go see this at the drive- in at the Naval Base(my dad was in the Navy for years, so the movie was in English because there were many Americans living there). My dad and my brother thought it was not that good, my mom and I thought it was great! The visuals are brilliantly creative and somewhat realistic, the gags are hilarious, the heart is darker than the other two, the voice work is delightful and the score by Randy Newman is absolutely amazing! I'm getting this for my 3D TV because some people say the 3D effects are spectacular. And on that note, the attention to detail looks like it can fit the technology. I love this movie, it's the best of the three Toy Storys and the perfect finale to an already perfect trilogy. I give this 10/10, no flaws with this movie at all.

Very good animated sequel- hilarious, nice to look at and worth watching in 3D
21 January 2016
I saw this back in October with my grandparents in Oceanside in 3D to pass time from my parents and brother going on the beach. I thought the first one was a pretty enjoyable watch, although it had it's flaws with the story and the constant pop culture gags. When I saw it, not only is it thoroughly entertaining, but it's just as good, if not better than the first movie! The visual effects are realistic and breathtaking to see with your eyes, and I recommend watching this in 3D, because it makes the spooky locations look scarier and more life-like, and I even jumped at a few parts. The character animation has a Tex Avery feel with all it's ADHD-paced energy and expressive emotion and exaggerated slapstick. I laughed out loud enough to call this movie hilarious, and even my grandparents agreed it was really funny at times. The voice work is lively, the 3D choreography is a marvel, the visuals are energetic, the humor gets a lot of laughs and the characters are love able and easy to get along with. I have a Blu-Ray 3D player and a 3D TV, so I can be dazzled by the effects all the time(no offense to those who don't, they can still enjoy it just as much in 2D, I just believe the 3D is up there with some of the best I've seen in an animated film yet). The only flaws I have are the predictable story and annoying pop songs.

Rise Of The Guardians- visually inventive, heartwarming, action-packed and funny
3 January 2016
I didn't see this in theatres when it first came out, I actually got it as a gift from my aunt in March 2013. When I watched it, I was stunned! I found myself engaged by the action scenes, charmed by Jack Frost's backstory, laughing at the jokes, and dazzled by the animation. Although occasionally the story relies too much on action and it can be predictable at times, this film rocks! The elves, yetis and fairies are cute and funny, as well as Hugh Jackman's hilarious performance as the Easter Bunny. Whenever Jack Frost and Bunny argue, it's priceless. Jack's backstory is fully fleshed-out and develops his character entirely. The visual effects and character animation are downright beautiful. Also, I have this on Blu-ray 3D and the 3D effects are some of the best I've seen in an animated film. Rise Of The Guardians is an underrated masterpiece that should've been seen by more people, given it's known as a box office disappointment.

The one Transformers movie that's good.
2 January 2016
I actually saw this movie at a generally filled theater in Virginia around early July of 2009, a tad bit after it's official release in late June. I was 8 years old and I liked the first Transformers, although not as much as my brother, who was 6 at the time, who was a huge fanatic of all sorts of robots and creatures fighting in the Saturday morning cartoons, and he was extremely pumped, but I wasn't too excited, although I did think it looked like a good movie. I saw it with my family, and we loved it! I didn't know this got bad reviews at the time because I wasn't familiar with film critics, and I won't say it's perfect, but it's a great summer film in its own right. The action and special effects are extravagant, particularly the forest battle and whenever a computerized Transformer is interacting with a human character. But I'll say that some of the comedy maybe a little too awkward to watch with families, in addition, the Leo character wasn't important nor funny in the slightest. Other than a couple of small problems, ROTF is a ton of fun for Transformers fans and action movie fans.

Daddy's Home (2015)

Hilarious!!!! Critics, stop pushing this into the ground!!!!!!
26 December 2015
I saw Daddy's Home in a packed theater at an afternoon screening and I personally think this movie's very funny in a lot of places. I found myself laughing out loud throughout the entire movie, and the rest of the audience agrees with me. There were times where the people in the theater were laughing so loudly and heartily that the next lines of dialogue were nearly inaudible! Everyone loved it so much, they clapped their hands at the end of the film, so critics, know what a great comedy is. The characters Griff and the boss played by Thomas Haden Church were particularly hysterical. The movie also has a few heartwarming moments to add to a really funny script. The trailers and TV ads didn't show all of the belly laughs for a change!! Great soundtrack to add to that. Daddy's Home is a hilarious gem and it's definitely worth going to watch in the theater!!!! Don't believe the critics that gave this a negative review who just select little nitpicks and enlarge them to an extent so that they can get a paycheck- go watch this!!

Cloudy 2 is absolutely hilarious! A great movie!
5 December 2015
I know I'm too late to review this film, but I decided to do it anyway. Cloudy 2 didn't really interest me all that much from the previews, and I initially wanted to decline this before I saw it(I was actually more interested in Despicable Me 2, which was too cheesy in my opinion). But then, the weekend it came out, I was dealing with school and things like that until my mom asked: "Wanna go watch Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2?". I said yes because I haven't seen my mom much because she was always working, so I decided to spend time with her. It turns out that Cloudy 2 was actually really good! The visual effects are dazzling(water, sparks, fire, other textures) and the 3 of us were laughing out loud a lot(my brother and my mom), along with the rest of the audience erupting with laughter throughout the show. The characters are love-able and hilarious, the humor is sharp and witty, the animation is detailed and crisp and the food animals are adorable. What's not to love? Also, one thing to note is that I saw it in 3D, and it actually really makes the special FX work and it did make me flinch at times. So make sure you see it in the added dimension for more depth. Note that I saw it first release.
