Good little mystery series
14 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
As usual, there are a lot of 'reviewers' here who are not actually reviewing the show, just venting their politics. This is actually a well written, well acted show. The characters are believable and behave like actual human beings which is rare on television these days. Contrary to the nonsense posted in some reviews here, this is not a case of forced diversity. There is no one here I would not expect to find in the situation, with the possible exception of Thomas Jane as the fish-out-of-water Yank in a strange land. The casting of the geese was exceptional; I was completely convinced by their performances. ;-)

The plot is intriguing with enough twists and turns to keep you engaged up to the denouement. There are plenty of motives and several nasty folk lurking about. The resolution of the case under investigation is actually a bit of a surprise, though the final engagement between the cop and the two protagonists was predictable. I was sure from the first encounter with him that there was something wrong with the female lead's original conviction.

Scooby Doo where are you?

I don't get it. A mystery with no mystery. A suspense story with no suspense. Hiqh quality acting wasted on a script lifted straight from a very poor episode of Scooby Doo. The writer and director should both read some Agatha Christie. There is no mystery where there is only one obvious set of villains. A lot of 0s and 1s went to digital heaven for no purpose.

Judgement pending

Unlike most of the 'reviewers' who have already posted, I actually watched the first episode. This is obviously a setup episode, but so far the show has failed to give me anything that resembles a character. The protagonist has accoutrements, in the form of cardboard friends, parents and weird hangers-about, but not one character that one could actually recognise as a person. The plot and situation is potentially interesting, but without someone to root for it does not drag me in. I'll watch another episode or two to actually decide what I think. Mostly, I watched this show because I don't think that the folks with an axe to grind at either end of the political spectrum get to decide what I should or should not watch. So you racist types; you made me watch this...
