No Closure, Sorry dialogue, Terrible Casting
13 May 2006
No Closure, people die, people get saved, helicopters show up and the curtain falls. Simply terrible..

Sorry dialogue, The background information and dialogue matches up with some terrible movies of our time, Snakes on Planes and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Terrible Casting, you use Kurt Russell as your main star in this flick? What the heck howard! Seriously Kurt Russell might of been a money grabber headliner for Hollywood back in the early 90's, but now? Seriously, Bob Saget could of played the role better, he would of acted more like a father rather than some old washed out actor looking to fund his wife's addictions.

IF you have to watch it, watch it on IMAX, even though there were some audio/video not matching up flaw, it showed the terrible CG ocean!!! Max

A great old style movie
8 July 2005
I don't really know where to start on this film. I am surprised that it was done by USA films and not by a larger production company. I thought the casting was done rather well. I would of had more familiar female actresses comprise the roles than their counterparts in the film. Billy Bob played a magnificent role in this film. The movie in black and white seemed to make his role of smoking his cigarette in his white barber robe seem more forceful. I thought the movie could of ended 20 minutes earlier and it would of had the same effect or a more meaningful ending after the accident. The UFO portion of the film should of been cut right after someone said it aloud. But hey, the Cohen Brothers know what works and doesn't. Overall a great film, I highly recommend.

Red Sonja (1985)

so it is true, only women may touch it
4 July 2005
Warning: Spoilers
Quote of the movie: "so it is true, only women may touch it"

What was good:

The Soundtrack was really good thanks to genus, Ennio Morricone.

Red Sonja looked really good in that little cloth piece she wore throughout the movie.

There is more red hair in this film than a shedding Irish Setter.

What was bad: The little kid playing the ruler of a land terribly over acts. I am not sure if this is because he is a bad kid actor or if it was suppose to be.

There was a scene where Arnold rides around hitting people from his horse, but in a wide-angle shot, there is nobody dead on the ground.

The special effects for 1985 are fairly lame, including the mechanical spider in the castle lair is so bad-dd.

The costumes were designed as if there was a sale at a early 1980's salvation army. Costume of the movie goes to the oriental old man, "grandmaster", with the white sheet and black straps is quite a sight. With poles that come out of his back, I don't know how he can enter a doorway.

It takes 18 minutes for Arnold to actually read a line.

A fun movie to drink a little and laugh at the action or lack of action. This movie could of been done a lot worse.

Morgan Freeman Steals the show
1 July 2005
Now a movie for all you western fans out there. This movie isn't your typical western, but it most certainly gets the job done. It is directed by Clint Eastwood, which shows the true labor he put into the film by his great acting and direction. Even with the great thespians of Eastwood and Gene Hackman, I certainly believe that Morgan Freeman plays one of his best roles in this movie. He didn't have the great amount of lines in the film, but who did with this movie bouncing between many actors. Morgan "oh andy" Freeman, showed that he is one of the best actors in the business. This movie should be watched by all Freeman fans, even if they are not western genre lovers. I think that the casting for this movie was on the money again. Gene Hackman plays the bad guy role not quite as good as he did in "Crimson Tide" but good nonetheless.

Great Script-original idea! Max Imus

A long length, but well worth it
12 June 2005
This movie was quite long, but I was able to endure it. It was a great movie that shows the highs and lows of life. The scarlets were amazing, including: the sets, costumes, music, and flying stunts. Not your typical long bad movie. Gwen Stafani from No Doubt, looked great and didn't have a big enough role, but in any event she looked great. I thought the casting was really good from Alan Alda to Leonardo. Usually I try to avoid Leonardo DiCaprio movies like the plague, but he actually acted rather well. I hope a lot of Leo haters get to enjoy this movie, I really did. The casting of Hepburn with Cate Blanchett was right on the money. Her accent got more thick as she aged which was very realistic.
