I was hoping to either find it's dark humour incredibly funny or it's violet plot incredibly disturbing but I didn't. I was left very disappointed by what I thought to be a very promising, original idea. It's humour made me cringe at times and the violet transformation was mostly hidden from the viewer. Which I can't understand why they would hold back on, since it was supposed to be a shocking movie..

The cinematography was brilliant however and Johnny Depp gave a pretty solid performance, so it can earn itself a few stars back.

It's not quite clear what this film is but at least I can now tell friends to avoid it.
