The Secret (2000)

The secret of the heart
19 January 2024
The movie relates to the desire to break free, because the whole wrong structure of the present moment, each of which seems dulling the senses with lack of enough. However, the price is breaking everything built and known, including affection and closeness, which however is not same as love. The relationship with the lover is not just about passion, but the desire to find the ultimate deep love where each moment is endless, making you forget the whole short continuity and making it eternal. It is actually the love she actually desires. The movie is sad because of the hurt one can cause in order to wake up and change something. Birth is painful too, though.

Stealing to heal
27 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Life of a family, life of love and healing, stealing to heal those that needs to be healed. With lots of humane moment of touch, of support, of non-judgmental, of pure happiness of the moment, enjoyment of simple things and togetherness. The end is powerful. Damaged people or damaged society ...we know the answer at the end... Because in untangling of heroines stories we can see they cared deeply for each other and every of their " wrong" for society was part of them coming to heal, protect each other from their environment and damaged society who didn't do enough to protect them, and to survive together in a state of being needed and loved. And it all becomes clear with the words "Daddy" of the boy going away with the bus. The movie started slow but grabbed me slowly in its grasps of painful beauty. And thats what art is supposed to do with us.

Oscar well deserved

Everyone with sort of disability can relate to this, unfortunately. the damage that others inflict on you. Saying that as a hard of hearing person for my whole life. Joaquin represented so strongly those in the despised state of life.i also believe he thought about the animals, his vegan awareness movement while doing the movie. Because the pain animals feel is so real, but noone believes or cares. This movie is so much of him it hurts. Brilliant performance.

Wonder Wheel (2017)

Woody Allen's wheel
16 February 2018
I enjoyed every bit of Woody Allen's movies. They are so full of symbolism, realistic- absurd nuances of reality and characters and theatrical feeling. I watch his movies for all those little nuances and little quircks. Concerning Wonder Wheel, its a movie of contrasts- light scenery, happy and bubbly world around and emotional dramas going behind. Those dramas are not exaggarated or overstated, they are normal realistic situations, even not too much of a dramas, but its about how the character go through them and what make of them. Ginny is also a woman of contrasts- of love and hate out of jelousy, of little flaws that lead to greater and even fatal mistakes, which at the end are not entirely her fault, but she feels great guilt. Her kid is burning everything the way she wants to burn past mistake. Her husband is also a contrasting character- he loves Ginny in a way but also greatly depreciate her. And then is Carolina- that light, sunshine girl involved with gangsters. Ironically, she is someone who cares for Ginny, but is actually the one who unintentionally is the root of drama for her. I love the complex interwining of everything in the movie, which appears very simple too. It is in the tone of a classical tradegy- none of the characters are faulty, but all of them carry fault for events. The cinematography is absolutely breathtaking and the sountrack is completely in tone- a light and happy song that becomes histerical as the movie progress. It all comes together. Woody is a genius that we have the pleasure of experiening through movies, which are so diverse and different from one another and I am greatly thankful for that! I enjoy as it is and to me it is completely enough. Woody is master of dramas and comedies many other nuances in beteen.

Woody is genius

You know...this movie is so scary realistic. So much symbolism, it is brilliant. It brought tears I want to explain Jowye as a character ,because I really relate. She is hard at expressing herself, but inside is really sensitive human being...and this sensitivity is strengthen by tension from not knowing what exactly she is good at and what her role in the world is, not having any specific talent and not going any specific path in the jobs she takes. At the same time, there is this burning desire to change the world, to be useful, to be definite, and to make her life count. That, in itself create a flaw and makes otherwise good person somewhat harsh and depreciating herself. She's seen mostly art people around her, so she seeks creative ways of expressing. Her sensitivity makes her care and relate most of all for her mom, she can relate to her mom's gloominess because of the way she herself feel, but her dissatisfaction makes her see the reality as it is, even a bit harsher, thus the final words to her mom and her attitude. Well, she also have a loving boyfriend, but can't understand why he likes her, because she has yet to like herself. And doesn't want kids because she hasn't sorted her own life. I guess it is quite simple for her- to accept not everyone is having a talent, not everyone can do something that great, but having a loving person and family is a gift in itself.Tried to explain Jowey the way I see and relate to her. I can't relate to the other character as much. But I hope someone who recognize themselves would give us an inner glimpse :)

Pedar leave you shattered into small little pieces of love that you would collect together long after you've watched it..

Thank you for the wonderful movie, Iranian cinema.I love Majidi and I don't care about imperfections..Its perfection is in the way the story is so simple that every movement, every word is gigantic, it echoes and leaves a print in the mind. Cinematography is so vivid, though I think the colors come from emotions, not the colors themselves. It is quiet movie, the silence broken by outbursts..Its a movie of contrasts , of love and hate..but going back to love ultimately. I cry a lot when watching Majidi's movies ...and I feel angry about him making them so heavy, almost impossible to watch at times because you get so wrapped up with characters' life situation, but then the end wouldn't crush upon with such a power and symbolism if it wasn't like that..I cry but then want to stay with the characters a lot more than the movie allows.Contrasts.Majidi is Van Ghog in cinema.Taking normal life situations and coloring them with colors, very dark and very bright. With lots of tenderness and kids' innocence.

A story about charming life's charlatians that trick us into living....
10 December 2014
You know you are a true Woody Allen fan when you don't even care to watch the movie with someone else. You want to savor it all alone, without hearing if it bored anyone, they didn't find it funny, they thought it is slow. To me,Woody is a philosophy. And he reveals himself in every movie he makes. He restates himself in new ways, but it is always beautiful, always return faith in humanity and reminds us about beauty and magic of life." Magic in the moonlight" is a ripe movie,it summarizes his ideas about life so wonderfully. It is light, but very wise. OK, my point is, I just love Woody and his art, it comprises the world in all his sides.
