Explosive! The original Rambo First Blood is right here!
3 March 2024
As I'm watching this storyline develop, it hits me. This is just like First Blood with Rambo starring Sylvester Stallone and Brian Dennehy. A sheriff trying to push a vagrant out of his beloved town - even driving him and dropping him off at the city limits. This is what Pat Hingle's Marshall Joe Bob character does for Richard Clarke (David Jannsen) And just like the sheriff in First Blood, Jim Bob wants him he doesn't wanna see him again. But Richard Clarke of course defies the Marshall and heads back into town... but only because he wants to report what he witnessed seeing the Marshall do. And it's bad. And when Clarke's (Kimble's) own secret gets out, it just adds fuel to the fire. This is an explosive suspenseful episode with a big dramatic ending. It's probably the best Fugitive I've ever seen!

The Outer Limits: Corpus Earthling (1963)

Robert Culp is in the best Outer Limits episodes!
9 February 2024
It's become apparent. It seems they made sure to cast Robert Culp in the best Outer Limits epsidoes. He was in "Demon With A Glass Hand" and "Architects Of Fear", two episodes that are in almost everyone's top 5 Outer Limits episodes. But this one should not be overlooked. "Corpus Earthling" is dramatic and it's real scary. Old fashioned true pure horror with real creatures and an ordinary man who becomes a monster. Suspenseful creepy music. For a dream vacation spot the couple travel too, it certainly looked dark and gloomy. But that's where all the ultimate climax action takes place. Don't miss Corpus Earthling. It's solid. Rated an 8/10.

Horny corpses
4 February 2024
A group of directors, actors and camera people make an agreement with a very old couple (who look like corpses walking around like zombies) to use a shed on their property so they can film a porno movie. Not before long this becomes a slasher flick (the actual movie, not the porno flick) Some very creepy yet hilarious scenes in this one. Interesting how when the black guy was killed, as not to offend anyone, they only showed him for 1/100th of a second fall back from a rifle shot blast. That to me was like WOKE moviemaking scene I've seen. Anyway I only watched this movie because the very busy Jenna Ortega was in it. And she's one of my favorite new actresses. But overall X is a really weird movie.

The kind of film the teacher asks the class to watch so they can discuss on Monday
10 December 2023
The movie is just okay. However there's no real action. There's a lot of dialogue. Lengthy conversations. It's a movie with underlying messages. The writers are sending the viewers messages on various social issues as all signs are pointing to the end of the world. Julia Roberts plays the "Karen" in the movie. This really is the type of film the teacher tells the class to watch over the weekend and then on Monday there will be a discussion on it. The film seems to also be a combination of several Twilight Zone episode plots such as "The Shelter", "The Monsters Are Due On Maple Street" and "Time Enough At Last".

However, unlike The Twilight Zone, don't expect any kind of big twist during this movie or even at the end.

Up til the ending, it's pretty straight forward with it's messages it's sending. Shout out to the young daughters in the film. Both young actresses stood out big time.

Employees out of town seminar gone bad
20 October 2023
Definitely a solid enough slasher movie to watch on a Friday or Saturday night. It's a Swedish film.

A few team leaders and employees set out on a team-building retreat the day before the ceremony of their latest project... a large shopping mall. You can tell right away not everyone in the group gets along well with each other. And a few are up to no good. But the worst is yet to come when a killer is taking them all down one by one. All the murders are different and unique ala Friday the 13th. This Jason Vorhees-like killer wears a large smiling boy's face mask he borrowed from one of the team leaders. Even with all the blood and gore, there are quite a few comedic moments in this.

Sit back and enjoy Friday the 13th, ABBA style!!

Black Mirror: Beyond the Sea (2023)
Season 6, Episode 3

A bit predictable.... though a nice curve ball at the end
27 June 2023
Aaron Paul and Josh Hartnett play two astronauts on a mission in space. But fortunately for them, they get to still see their families, well sort of, with the use of doppelgangers. One of the two experiences a horrific tragedy with his family which leads to decisions the other astronaut would regret. Once you see what's going on, you'll probably agree it's a bit predictable. However the very ending there's a little curve ball twist moment which caps the episode off nicely.

If you're a Twilight Zone fan, you may notice (as I did) one astronaut is named Stanfield and the other is named Ross. In the TZ episode "The Long Morrow", the astronaut who ages by pulling himself out of hibernation is named Commander Stansfield. And lead astronaut in the episode "Death Ship" from season 4 is named Captain Ross. Maybe just maybe Black Mirror was paying homage to The Twilight Zone.

Better Call Saul: Hit and Run (2022)

Kim and Mike first speak to each other!!
8 June 2023
Suspenseful, funny episode. Vince Gilligan is so great at developing scenes where you know the big payoff is coming. Those opening scenes are a clear example. Jimmy (Saul) with a deep dark tan. I'm like "What the?..."But then it all makes sense. He was impersonating Howard. Lol. Jimmy and Kim at it again with their tricks.

I absolutely loved the scene in the diner when Mike and Kim first look at each other and speak. That scene was done so well. Kim looked scared to death, then she realizes where she remembers Mike from. Well made episode. Camera work, cinematography, writing, acting... everything was on par with what a Better Call Saul episode is like. Enjoyed it.

Home Alone on STEROIDS!!
28 May 2023
Santa isn't exactly The Terminator or Chuck Norris or John Wick, but he certainly gets the job done goofily and awkwardly knocking off one villain after the other in this very bloody, yet slapstick comedy horror flick. John Leguizamo leads a group of evil mercenaries into a wealthy families' mansion looking for millions of dollars. Their plans are thwarted when "the real Santa", played by David Harbour of Stranger Things fane, just happens to be in the mansion at the time. Lots of blood and gore in this flick. And somehow the writers are able to mix in a sweet, heartwarming side story between this little girl, her separated parents and Santa. Movie starts off slow. But once it gets going, the action is constant. It's just that it seemed goofy and predictable a bit too much.

The best episodes are when Dan & Harry OR Dan & Abby are at odds
13 April 2023
This is a top 5 episode for season one. Why? Because it's one of those episodes where we see Dan at odds with Abby just like when he would be at odds with Harry.

An app creator thrusts himself into a court case with the purpose of trying to get investors for his app. Dan, who's at his best when he's sleazy, is ALL IN on this "get rich quick" scheme. Abby not so fast. She has secret info on this app mogul to indicate he's a fraud. Enjoyable episode. Dan has some great lines. So funny when he slam shuts the lap-top while Abby was video chatting with her Rand. Gotta love Dan's sleazy non-caring personality in this one. Oh and Neil is developing the personality of an awkward, not so bright, easily influenced person. Dan eats him alive. Lol.

The Good Neighbor (I) (2022)

Hulu has a hidden gem in The Good Neightbor!!
26 February 2023
Highly recommend The Good Neighbor. Perfect Friday night suspense thriller for families or couples. It's a psychological thriller packed with so much to break down for round table discussion. Starts off innocently with a journalist named David moving in to a home in Latvia which his boss arranges for him. David meets his neighbor Robert. One night after they're both out for drinks at a club, with David driving his boss's car, they hit a woman riding a bike. Ironically, it's the same woman David flirted and danced with at the club. It was at this moment I thought that was quite the coincidence. I thought maybe the obsessive, jealous, possessive neighbor Robert set that up to happen. But no, it was just coincidence. However, Robert does emerge in this film as a possessive psychopath. As David feels ultimate guilt for killing the cyclist, Robert has no conscience for her and instead is focused squarely on David. At times I thought is Robert gay? But later in the film there's somewhat of an explanation for his jealous obsessive behavior.

The acting is superb. The actor who played Robert reminded me so much of old time actor Martin Landau. Don't miss this film! It truly is packed with little twists and turns. Very good suspenseful psychological stuff.

Dexter: New Blood: Sins of the Father (2022)
Season 1, Episode 10
9/10
Round of applause for an appropriate ending!!!
4 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I don't get all the low ratings. I'm assuming these are people who just jumped on the Dexter bandwagon when New Blood came on. In my opinion, this was the appropriate ending. The show is over folks. Stop crying and wishing for another season. That's the only reason you all rated this episode a 1. THE SHOW IS OVER. Dexter's reign of crime spanning 9 seasons and over 105 episodes is OVER. And in ending with the curtains coming down, Dexter is dead. And what brilliant writing to have his son whom Dexter abandoned to live with a serial killer nanny take him out. And now Harrison can "try" to live a normal life. Sheriff Bishop did the right thing not calling it in. She knew Harrison needed to be free to start a new life. He's an innocent boy. He didn't ask for this. She knows Harrison did what the justice system most likely wouldn't do... take Dexter down. So she set him free. Great writing. The ending got me. In tears. Seeing Dexter go down. Seeing an innocent scared kid take off. Seeing the sheriff take the fall. Goodbye Dexter. What a freaking unbelievable television series!!!

The show is over folks.

A movie for PlayStation fanatics
29 January 2023
This movie is for those hooked on Playstation games. It's for gamers. So it just was not for me. I got dizzy with all the special effects and bouncing back and forth. Thank goodness Jamie Lee Curtis was in it, albeit as a strange oddball character. Who would've thunk she'd be a Terminator-type decades after her old co-star Arnold pulled it off so easily. Jamie Lee's IRS office outfit would certainly make a great Halloween costume.

This film was like Battlestar Galactica meets Buck Rogers in the 25th Century.on steroids. Wear a seat belt when watching the film. Be prepared for a futuristic rollercoaster ride.

Seemed like a full blown ad-libbed script
25 September 2022
It certainly appeared the main characters just ad-libbed their way though this film, a film loaded with homo-erotic jokes. Ladies beware, you're probably not gonna like this movie for that reason. All the actors play themselves. It's about the end of the world occurring as a big celebrity house party filled with drugs, booze and sex is going on. Bizarre comedy-horror flick. Hanging on for dear life as you're slipping into these gigantic holes. Craig Robinson had the most hysterical high screeching screams in this film. Lol. I will say the end of the movie makes us all feel like you know, it's not too bad when we're done on this earth...

Smash's mom team MVP!!
15 August 2022
How can anyone not love Smash's mom?

She always comes up big for her son and the team.

This episode had my eyes heavy with tears seeing the protesting players led by Smash coming to the bus.

And coach McGill standing up to those racist cops.

I'm ballin. I'm ballin my eyes out after this episode.

Lazy episode that's just an hour of playing with camera speed
10 August 2022
Not a fan of this one. It was almost as if the producers and writers discovered they can fast forward, slo-mo and rewind their cameras... And so they decided to do a whole one hour episode of these actions. It just got monotonous for me. And I also got tired of seeing Carroll O'Connor fake squint his eyes from the bright lights over and over and over again. 🙄

Alfred Hitchcock Presents: Special Delivery (1959)
Season 5, Episode 10

It had potential, but it just never really delivers
9 August 2022
The writing seemed amateurish. The acting of some of these actors seemed off, like as if even they knew the script was messy. I started to think Steve Dunne, who plays the father, thought maybe this was a comedy by the way his eyes kept popping out in several scenes. Creepy ending, but not good enough to make up for how the story gets there. Alfred Hitchcock himself seemed to not care for this episode himself as evidenced by his epilogue when he suggests the play be sent back.

Was waiting for Jason Segel's character to yell out "Ted!" or "Barney!"
27 July 2022
Although the movie is pure suspense right from the beginning, there were moments when I sensed this could be one of those comedy-thrillers. It took me a while to accept Jason Segel (from "How I Met Your Mother" fame) in this dramatic criminal role. When he yells at the CEO (Jesse Plemons) to sit down, I truly felt he was on the verge of yelling "Sit Ted!!" or "Sit Barney!" Lol. My favorite moment in the movie was when the three of them were watching 'Three Amigos'. The wife and Jason Segel were seen cracking smiles and laughing while CEO Plemons stayed stoic. I had to rewatch the ending to fully understand where the writers were going. And I got it. And all in all, not a bad ending. I give the movie a 6. Not the best home invasion movie I've seen, but it's still worth a watch.

It was like an ABC afterschool special
23 July 2022
The actors reminded me of those old ABC Afterschool Specials. The movie's plot itself was all over the place. Early on, the movie was striking interest, but then it just gets dumber and dumber. There were some good moments I suppose. Oh and Hank from Breaking Bad has a minor role in this.

11 July 2022
Solid episode with an original and funny plot.

The timing of the way everyone ends their sentence with "Right now" made the episode fun to watch.

Lily each time to the pig with the sad music playing "Right now" 🤣🤣🤣

Episode rating should be higher than 7.6.

Taxi: Latka the Playboy (1981)

Best episode of the series!!!!
23 June 2022
I have a warm spot in my heart for this episode. During the series, there were great episodes that rank as 9's. But to me, this one is the only 10 rated episode. You have to have an open mind watching this one. It's all fantasy as Latka's personality is changed overnight to an arrogant snobby playboy, whom everyone begins to hate. Alex (Judd Hirsch) delivers a powerful line to Latka that sums up everyone's anger towards him. And it is the ending that was just done oh so well. Great writing! You can see Latka crying out for help in this horrible personality he's trapped in. It ends in very heartwarming fashion. I love "Latka, The Playboy"

Episode 4 vaults Stranger Things into a full blown motion picture!!
1 June 2022
Fasten your seat belts when you're set to watch this episode! Oh my freeking GAWD! I'm speechless. The Duffer Brothers have outdone themselves. They're not messin' around. Each episode of season 4 has been like a full feature film. This episode was a full blown horror and adventure motion picture!! It centers around Max and her crisis. In fact I don't even think Eleven is in this one, although she's mentioned. There are scenes that will make you think you're watching Diehard. There are scenes that make you think you're watching Nightmare On Elm Street. In fact the Freddy Krueger actor is in this!! In between all the horror and adventure, there are still the poignant drama scenes well scripted and well acted by the teens. Also, the late 80s song "Running Up That Hill" gets featured once again near the close.

And while all this horror and suspense is going on with Max, there are surprising twists and turns over in Russia where Hopper is in a crisis of his own. And Alaska too!!

There's no question: Season 4 > Season 1, 2 or 3.

Season 4 a serious threat to blow season 1 away!!
30 May 2022
This episode is another indication the Duffer Brothers are not messing around. Season 4 is on the verge of blowing away season 1. I don't recall ever watching a series that gave you science fiction, horror, suspense, high school drama and some comedy all rolled into one. After just 2 episodes of season 4, there hasn't been a slow moment. The scripts and scenes are tightly written and directed. My only down feeling of this particular episode was El's actions towards the end of the episode. I didn't expect that. But I suppose it's leading to something. Can't wait for eppy 3!!! I hear they get even better. Wow!

Small town succumbs to high school football
30 May 2022
Just started watching this series. The obsession with high school football is way over the top in this show. Lol An ordinary resident picking on the coach's daughter in a diner, calling out her dad? The coach is calling his student athletes out in the middle of the night in the pouring rain to do sprints? Is a teacher or coach allowed to do that?? I have to say I find some of this really over the top. Can a town be this obsessed with a high school sport that it controls their lives? And it doesn't seem like there's a care in the world about the school's academics.

Anyway, decent episode here which gets emotional towards the end as conflicts arise on and off the field.

Marshall kidnapped in a robe 🤣🤣
29 May 2022
Ted kidnaps Marshall still in his hotel robe. Anytime on TV you see a man just in a robe, it's just too funny. Marshall's robe was particularly funny because it was kind of small. And then when he had to bend down to pick up the car keys... Lol. Main storyline was kind of rubbishy. Not one of the great episodes, but there are moments!
