There is nothing special about this movie. Even if it were a stand-alone, it wouldn't have 2 legs to stand on. Heist movies are made all the time. This is not a good one. I've seen plenty of heist movies whether they have a serious tone or comedic tone done way better than this money grabbing part of a franchise yawn of a movie. Bottom line is people need to quit bandwagoning these directors. Not everything they make is golden. All of my favorite directors have a few duds under their belts. Zack Snyder is no exception.

If u like sleepy town movies involving crime and con artistry, watch fargo instead

This movie tries to be like the notebook (even though I thought the notebook was overrated, I thoroughly enjoyed it) and The Great Gatsby with a fantasy edge but fails miserably. I dont know if I should be proud that I sat through the entire thing or ashamed. Even after an hour and fifteen minutes into the nearly 2 hour runtime, I did not feel invested into the plot nor engaged or intrigued by any of the characters except Will Smith's lucifer. There is no point in me going into any of the fantasy elements or deep insight because the film doesn't bother to do so. That being said, by the time it got to the execution of the actual main point of the film I didn't care. I just wanted the movie to end. Ignore all the 9s and 10s, this movie doesn't deserve anything over a very generous 6.

I'm giving this a 1 in order to shift the balance of this movie's existing rating. Its actually a 3 or for but that's not a good thing. This movie introduces interesting characters only for them to have absolutely no story arch. The pacing of this movie is very slow and boring. Even if this was trying to convey some sort of social commentary it fails miserably. This movie was not funny or entertaining. Like I said in the headline, the director must have called in every favor he had in order to cast so many celebs whom had massive amounts of success and or awards elsewhere. As a movie buff and a fan of zombie films, I can honestly say that this is one of the worst zombie films I've ever seen. I've seen b and c zombie films with a smaller budget and Unknown cast that were way better than this.

The on screen chemistry between Samuel L. Jackson and Ryan Reynolds is undeniable. In the spirit of previous "I don't like you but I need you" interactions between the two leads such as 48 Hours (Nick Nolte, Eddie Murphy) and Money Talks (Charlie Sheen, Chris Tucker)this buddy action comedy will be enjoyed by younger and older audiences alike. It is arguably one of the best action comedic duos since the first Rush Hour (Jackie Chan, Chris Tucker) and is just as entertaining as The Rundown (Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Seann Williams Scott). Although every scene that was meant to be humorous was not totally laugh out loud funny, the clever wise cracks and bickering back and forth between Bryce and Kincaid was entertaining enough. Finances aside, The Hit-man's Bodyguard could justify a sequel if well written. However like Rush Hour it should not have its well received welcome worn out by underwhelming sequels. Every scene that Jackson and Reynolds are in together is the meat and potatoes of this movie. I only wish they could have gone more in depth to their interactions prior to Bryce becoming Kincaid's bodyguard.
