Terminator Genisys (2015)
pleasantly surprised
I was skeptical about going to see this film, the critic reviews didn't make for very good reading and lets be honest... when the fifth film of a franchise comes out it's never going to be amazing. However, despite the critic reviews this film was rather good. The effects were brilliant, the cinematography was good, the storyline was OK but to my disappointment it didn't go along well with the other terminator films plots. The acting by Jai Courtney was bad but the rest performed well especially Schwarzenegger and J.K. Simmons. I thought the genisys subplot was unnecessary and that John Connor shouldn't have been portrayed as a villain as it totally contradicts the other films portrayal of him. Overall this film was enjoyable but you must have seen the other four terminator films to be able to judge and enjoy this film properly.
Interstellar (2014)
Interstellar
This films amazing. sure its not everyones cup of tea but the visual effects is incredible and the science and time put into the film is beyond me. Its unique, original, fun and emotional. The score to this film is flawless. This film is so ambitious i wouldn't think any other director could pull it of. ( maybe Spielberg)The acting is really good and you can feel the bond between Cooper and Murph. The dialogue was okay and the ending was excellent, very beautiful and strong but very Hollywood.
This is a film that can be enjoyed by anyone 13+ and may be confusing for anyone younger.

Inception (2010)
Inception review
This mind-blowing thriller. Its amazing on a number of different levels. Its packed with action and complicated plot what goes into depths about dream. The realism in this film is also great. The character development isn't that good but Its a tense dramatic edge of your seat thriller. Directed by the master of modern film making Christopher Nolan. This is completely original and I've never seen a near perfect film. With incredible cinematography and visual effects and one of the best scores of all time. The films indescribable. It defines a genre and has fantastic performances and i love sophisticated films. It has so much originality to it. There's nothing much like it.
You have to concentrate when watching this film as it is very complicated, anyone younger than 14 wouldn't understand.
The Happening (2008)
M.Night Shyamalan does it again (and not well)
What is this, a plague causing people to kill themselves you've got to be having a laugh. This film had more clichés than I could count, poor acting, even worse cinematography and was virtually pointless to make. Shyamalan has made one good film in his sorry career and is now deepening his own grave (which almost reached Australia by the time he made the last airbender). So what was good well the main thing that stood out was I wasn't bored during it however that may have been because I was to busy scrutinizing it my main problem was the story, it was unrealistic perhaps if Shyamalan had come up with a better disease this might have been better.
Léon (1994)
My second favourite film
Leon the professional is my second favourite film. I absolutely love it. This film ticks all the boxes for me, it has drama, violence, emotion, thrills, romance, humour and much more. The only film that tops it for me is The Shawshank Redemption (click my name above to see my review on that) so therefore for me it beats the likes of my other favourites like The Godfather and Schindlers list. One of the main reason this film is so great is because of Natalie Portmans amazing acting in it, she managed to capture angry, suicidal, vengeful side of Mathilda but also the loving more caring side of her, not many grown up actors/actresses can do that let alone a kid.
In conclusion I'd say this is a film that all audiences can watch and enjoy.
Annie (2014)
boring
This film is awful I had to go and see it with my family on boxing day and I'm sorry to say it was really bad the song lyrics were dull, repetitive and cheesy and to make matters worse it was clear that the girls weren't actually singing it because there lips were way out of sync with the sound. The end was a typical Hollywood happy ever after cliché. Now yes I know 5-10 year old girls would like this film but that's as far as it goes. Personally I think this film deserved the razzie for worst remake.
I wouldn't recommend this film to anyone because of it being a absolute terrible film
127 Hours (2010)
127 hours
This movie is in my top 50 and it deserves it. Being a scout I've always been interested in survival and stuff like that so this film ticked all the boxes for me. When I first watched this film I felt as though I was watching the real Aron Ralston trapped under that rock, it was very realistic. Its so accurate that even Aron himself said so. Furthermore James Franco's performance in this film is outstanding it was as if in it he was cutting his own actual arm off.
I would recommend this to anyone who has seen and enjoyed films like alive and other survival films. Also don't watch the end bit unless you have a strong stomach.
Rocky (1976)
A classic
This is by far my favourite film Sylvester Stallone directed and or acted in, it's an absolute masterpiece! I believe this film can be seen and enjoyed by anyone any age any time and thats the beauty of it. Even after almost 40 years since it came out it still remains popular. As well as being about boxing it also contains drama emotion and romance.
So in conclusion I would definitely recommend this to anyone who has seen and enjoyed films like raging bull, million dollar baby and Forrest Gump.
Also I would highly recommend the rest of the rocky series especially Rocky two and rocky four they are both very important the story that follows up the first film.
First Blood (1982)
Rambo: first blood
This film has it all I'll start with the positives. It has Emotion. It has Action. It has Adventure. It has Suspense. The storyline is original and very entertaining. I couldn't take my eyes off the screen. And, like Rocky, the main character is played so well by Sylvester Stallone. Obviously it isn't as good as the likes of the godfather or the green mile but for the whole 89 minutes it was on I never got bored, and considering I'm not a patient person that's quite an achievement.
I would recommend this to anyone who's seen and enjoyed films like speed and rocky One more thing do watch the other two films of the series if you get a chance they to are very good.
Live Free or Die Hard (2007)
Great for a fourth movie of a series
John McClain is back and this time is trying to take down a terrorist who is causing chaos in Washington D.C.
This was the first die hard I watched and to be honest I was very pleasantly surprised. Bruce Willis' acting was good and the special effects were immense. Most of the time after a series has reached the fourth film the whole thing goes stale, yet die hard 4 doesn't. I have now watched the whole series and really enjoyed all of them apart from a good day to die hard which was not good.
In conclusion I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys thrillers like speed and phone booth
In the Line of Fire (1993)
this film is under rated
This film,in my opinion, is up there with dirty harry, Gran Torino and million dollar baby, Eastwood best films hes acted/directed in. I have absolutely no problems with this film whatsoever it is suspenseful, romantic, powerful and never has a dull moment. Obviously its not as good as the likes of Shawshank, the godfather and se7en but still similar to films likes of phone booth, rocky 2 and die hard 4.0 have been hard done by by the the critics.
I would highly recommend this film to anyone who really listens to the dialogue and enjoys suspenseful thrillers. Again Eastwood never fails to please me.
Bonnie & Clyde: Justified (2013)
An embarrassment to Bonnie and Clyde themselves
This is by far the worst movie I have seen The acting was awful, the effects were awful and the action was guess what. Awful! No seriously this movie could have been made by a bunch of five year old kids who have a fond taste for American history. The effects are embarrassing for example at one point in it shot are being fired at Clydes car and they are flashing his leather roof. Furthermore, the film was half full of really dull picture montages in black and white. And finally the props were awful in one point Clyde points a gun at someone but the only problem it the barrel isn't hollow.
Do not watch this film unless you want to be bored out of your mind for 85 minutes
The Sixth Sense (1999)
brilliant twist
The Sixth sense
A thought provoking film with a great story to it backed up yet again amazing acting from Bruce Willis finished with an amazing twist at the end
This film tells the story of a boy who is struggling to socialise and is bullied by his classmates so he is referred to a psychologist who was recently left injured by one of his previous patients slowly the man begins to discover the boys darkest secrets.
I would recommend this movie to people who has a taste for thought provoking movies with a good twist at the end. I wouldn't call this a horror film and would be appropriate for anyone above the age of twelve
The Shawshank Redemption (1994)
great concept great acting great movie
The Shawshank Redemtion Review
The Shawshank Redemption is my favourite film for many reasons. Adapted from a Stephen King novella, the film is executed brilliantly and expertly directed by Frank Darabont. The film is sad yet uplifting and has many iconic scenes. The writing is almost perfect with all the characters being well-developed. The film keeps us informed as to the lead characters' thoughts and emotions. The score was incredible with Roger Deakins cinematography and it was beautifully portrays 19 years of life in a corrupt and brutal prison. Tim Robbins delivers an incredible performance, as does Morgan Freeman. All of the supporting cast were great from the Warden to Captin Hadley. The film's ending is perfect, moving and justice for Andy delivers the feel good factor. It's a powerful film which should have dominated the Oscars.
