Mr. Robot: 403 Forbidden (2019)
Great analogy with the russian roulette
Awesome episode when Elliot has to decide if letting someone in or not, for having a plan. Just when there's no other option, he allows someone to get in. And Elliot and Mr. Robot conclude the episode with a nice quote, realizing that "Letting someone in doesn't have to hurt. But it can."
The initial part with the traumatic life and love of the white-rose was quite boring. Not an interesting part for me, and quite redundancy without content, but it helps understanding who is white-rose and justifies how white-rose is proceding.
Lost (2004)
After 15 years trying, I've finished watching "Lost".
Finally, I can say I finished Lost. The first sensation is: and that's all? I've spent around 120 hours!
I tried to watch this TV Show maybe 5 times, but I couldn't finish it. I tried it in 2007, 2008, also 2014, 2015, and I tried also 2019,2020. There was always a boring point where everything got stop.
As positive points, I'd said:
- There are interesting characters for everybody
- There's love, drama, comedy, assholes, crimes, drugs, weapons, action.
- Interesting ending
Negative points:
- Non-sense plot
- Abuse of the spectator's patience
- Too many stuffing episodes / seasons
- Impossible to chase the plot
I didn't expect a master-piece from a best-seller TV Show like Lost, but I expect something more. The end surprised me, because all the thing that didn't make any sense finally, didn't matter at all. Simple and easy, but it worked using a happy ending, perfect partners, friendships, love for everybody, happiness, one explanation and nothing else matters. It gave the spectator what he wanted and nothing else matters.
This TV Show became extremely popular when it appeared. There was no Streaming platforms: not Netflix, not Prime Video, etc.
Everybody was talking about it, everybody knows about, everybody loved it and I received recommendations from everybody.
Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)
Great VFX for an infamous movie without plot.
An extremely simple plot for dummies. Repetitions of the same contents, quotes, discussions during the whole 230 minutes. Examples of mistakes are:
- making a combat jet move from US to El Cairo without any stop? At least invent the "wonder-jet" or similar.
- Wonder woman flies picking clouds with the rope?
- etc.
- be careful with your desires
- If you want something, you'll have to give something from you.
- If all the world desires came true, everything would became a chaos.
- Be careful with what you desire.
Lady Bloodfight (2016)
Intention of being Van Damme with woman and more violence
A mixture between Kickboxing and Bloodsport, Van Damme's movies, with the difference that the fights are between ladys instead of guys . It's plot is still simpler than Van Damme's movie. It has some sorcery and unnecessary gore scenes. I finished it, so it was at least entertained, but it's not next to a Van Damme's classic scene.
Camino sin límites (2019)
High performance for its low budget.
It's an interesting documentary which brings inspiration and power for the people with high troubles in life. Pretty nice intentions behind it about the reality and capabilities of persons.
The Challenge (1982)
Not nice to see.
An american boxer converting to japanese samurai. The decoration and environment about the japanese culture stands to the topics but is fine: food, clothing, tradition, honor. But the story is extremely poor and without any content. The american boxer converts to a winner fighting with sword. It's ridiculous whatching the main character having an assalt weapon and handling a japanese sword.
The Shape of Water (2017)
So excellent reviews, for a mediocre movie. Ask Hollywood, the'll have the answer.
The movie is nothing special at all. The maximum that I could qualify it, is as entertained. Typical topics mixed into a science-fiction fairy tale for adults because contains violence, nude scenes and few sex references.
The main characters are excessively forced.
- The bad man is ver very very bad. He wish cash over anything. Doesn't love's here family. Just one the best Cadillac and to feel over any other persons (self-esteem problem?).
- The good woman is very, very, very kind. She's mute, and she understand the different persons: the "beast", the homosexual friend, and she does not judge them till the point of fall in love with the beast.
- The different characters are very very different: mute, "beast", etc.
Superficiality of the homosexual friend brings him to fail in his life. Dressing a wig, do not be the artist he is, just work in a multinational to get cash and do what others do.
American society was discriminative in the 50s, no entrance to other races in bars, and no tolerance for the homosexual. Doesn't it still happens? It has few references to how bad the "american dream" could be, and shows something more simillar to the reality of a fairy tale.
It's a movie that will give you nothing special nor nothing you have not already seen. It tries to reference many things but in more than 2 hours, but finally it treats anyone. Just fairy tale.
Do not expect anuything special, because it does not have. I wouldn't recommend and won't see it twice, because it has nothing special. Why critics are so good? Ask Hollywood.
Black Mirror: Nosedive (2016)
Nice reflexion about the snobbish society were just the likes from the others matter.
Nowadays the social media is destroying the human interaction. Our interrelation between persons is going down. We share our lifes by our social networks and we receive their response by the likes we received.
As the wisdom, the social networks can be used until limits (not far from nowadays reality) where we evalute the activity we have done last weekend by the likes that we've received. Sometimes, When you finish a mountain peak, the most important is the likes you'll get on the social network; superating yourself, superating your panic to the altitudes or improve your self-confince does not matter, for example.
The Nosedive episode transmits, using a metaphoric message using the social networks, that the people just care and evaluate themselves by what other people think about them. The episode characters are separated by their popularity. This is where the humanity is going: a snobbish society without self-esteem where it does not matter how we love ourselves, the only thing that matters is what the others think of us.
Nowadays, the only problem that matters would be to "Like your neighbor as yourself". No space for emotions, no space for your self-esteem. No space for happiness. No space until your body explotes.
Fucking Åmål (1998)
Fuck1ng Amal is a cutie film
The film was very recommended for viewers of Liljia 4-ever. Well, I don't know why. The movie is cutie and entertained. It has some interesting points that I appreciated on the movie. The argument is simple, 2 adolescents that fall in Love. They have grown up in totally different families. Ellie in a family with her mom & sister, probably with a unique low-salary. Agnes has grown up in a quite rich family living an American dream made. But Agnes and Ellie have something in common: they are brave enough to do crazy things, explain and share what they think and share the truth with maybe the most loved persons.
But, for me, the most beautiful and inspiring comparison is between Ellie and her sister, Jessica. Ellie is the crazy brave sister, despite being the youngest of the two sisters, has courage enough to argue with her old sister and tell the truth about what she thinks. Jessica, on the other side, is more cautious and does all what society and her moms tell, despite thinking different. Jessica is going out with the coolest and most popular guy of the high school, although she didn't like him so much. He is rude, but she prefers to suffer in silence because is what a cool girl would do: go with the coolest guy. What the society would expect, her opinion does not matter; she despises her-self. Despite Jessica seems to prefer prefer Johan Hulth, instead of Markus, she worries when Ellie leaves Johan at the party, and goes to console him. With a hug. There is the point when you see how depressive is what many people does nowadays: do what the others expect you to do, instead of do what you want to do.
The difference would be that Ellie, brave enough to do what she wants will be happy loving Agnes, and Jessica, who does what society expected her to do, would be sad going out with Markus.
The Big Bang Theory: The Mystery Date Observation (2015)
Awesome episode
The episode really deserves a 10. It is funny, it makes you laugh and has many very nice parts. (SPOILERS) It also makes you that sometimes what seems the best, could be the worst, and also how out-of-control can the love be. Amy has a new boyfriend that seems awesome but she discovers, he is a terrible freak that she cannot put up with. And when the pretty, smart and intelligent Vanessa Bennet knocks the door after having solved the problem they've published on the web few hours before and starts talking Klingon and Sanskrit, it seems that doctor Cooper had already found the perfect girlfriend he could have ever imagine, and after having a chat, he rejects her because she missed the deadline by some seconds. Madly, Unbelievably unexpected; also so fun.
Mammoth (2009)
Smooth drama about nowadays different societies and families
Mammoth it's a smooth synopsis of the contrast between the societies that nowadays live on the same planet. On the movie we can see the life of two families from different levels: the life of and American rich family and the life of its maid, a thai family. The maid is an emigrant from Thailand that moved to US looking for cash to maintain her family. Despite the movie has a some criticism, it is extremely smooth compared with how much it can be. It's not a documentary, OK, but if you want to be criticize the differences between societies and make a drama, be truth and faith to the real world. Otherwise, the only thing you do is show the people the tip of the iceberg and they spectators continue being unworried about the problems. But the movie, instead of being focused on the society differences, it is more focus on one of the things that most really matters: the family. The movie is also critique with the people nowadays, they spend more time in their jobs working than with the family. , but when feeling bad or when need somebody, they feel alone, they need to share their sadness the only thing they have is the family, but it it's the last place they go to.
