Bridgerton (2020)
Worth watching
It's fiction so don't expect it to be historically accurate. They never intended it to be. Don't expect it to be exactly like the book. It's based on the book not an exact replica. For me the show adaptations: diversity, music, characters, made it much more interesting than the book. My advice would be to give it a try with an open mind. People given it scores of 1 to 3 are obviously not even taking into account the fabulous costume and setting design. Those reviews read like what a petulant child would write. It may end up not being your cup of tea but rubbish it is not. Grow up people!
Nadie Sabe Que Estoy Aquí (2020)
Good movie
Beautiful scenery, understated emotional subject matter. A little slow at the beginning but worth watching
The Guest (2014)
Baffled
I've no words for the good reviews. Silly movie, poorly acted.
Collateral Beauty (2016)
Casting
This movie would have greatly benefited from a different actor in the role of Howard. Will Smith is better suited for action/adventure. Nothing wrong with that, we all have different talents. Other than that an enjoyable movie
Reckoning (2019)
Good plot
I found the series entertaining. Not sure why all the negative comments. Sure it wasn't perfect and sure police procedures weren't exactly stellar but are they in real life anyway? I thought for the most part the characters were multifaceted and interesting
Billions (2016)
Good Series
I understand billions isn't for everyone, that some (many?) might find it boring as it is not driven by action, adventure, mystery. I also admit that it has devalued in recent seasons, but what series hasn't? Still I find billions very compelling in the way it blurs many lines: moral, ethical, legal, emotional. If you can get past some of the overly dramatic scenes, cliché speeches, you should appreciate the nuances at play. At least those of us who prefer intellectual stimulation over simple action and adrenaline motivated scenes.
Making the Cut (2020)
Disappointing
I was looking forward to this show because I thought I missed Heidi and Tim. It turns out I only truly missed Tim, on his own. The show was all over the place. First it wasn't about sewing but then it was? The constant reminder of being able to change the judges' decision was annoying and the Tim and Heidi segments were cringe worthy (not Tim's fault by the way) Not to mention the 180 turn by Naomi Campbell who went from being the meanest judge to becoming the contestants' advocate? The final straw? The fact that the winner seemed pre-determined. This show made me appreciate the new project runway. Who would have thought?
