A Walk in the Woods (2015)
The next best thing to a hike
I loved this movie. I didn't go into the movie with a positive attitude thinking that it would be based on testosterone and it would be boring. A nice surprise for me. I didn't find it in the least boring and It had the power to transport me away from my stressful life and become immersed with these two on the trail. The scenery was spectacular. The acting was superb and I can't say one negative thing about the entire show. There were times I laughed out loud. The camera work is outstanding and the dialogue was excellent. The film provided a great experience and both males and females would enjoy this movie. In my opinion, it is one of the best movies from 2015 and yes, I have seen all the head liners. I think this movie is under rated. I came away from the movie with a really good feeling.'Love Those Guys'.
Christmas Truce (2015)
Enjoyable and Touches Different Scenes
I did not plan on watching this movie. I had just turned off my work laptop after dealing with over stress. I turned on the TV and ended up at the beginning of this movie and I am so glad I did. It had me forget everything else but the movie and for that alone I appreciate the movie. For me, the movie was perfect. A good story, good acting, good camera work. There may have been a detail or two that was historically incorrect but I did not notice and I didn't care. I highly recommend this movie if you want a good story and sit back and relax in the Christmas spirit. It will become one of my favorite Christmas movies right up there with 'A Christmas Carol' which also had an inaccuracy (cameraman in glass). Best enjoyable time out I have had all season.
Castles in the Sky (2014)
Enjoyable and Informative
In 5 years, this is only the second review that I have done on IMDb. The reason for this review is that there were only 4 other user reviews and this movie deserves much more so here I am writing a review. I started off watching by myself and a few minutes into the movie my son joined me. My son is an action movie buff and will usually leave the room if it isn't action so I was surprised to find him still there at the end of 'Castles In the Sky'. Not only was he still there, he initiated a discussion about the movie with respect to his new-found know knowledge of just how important radar was in helping Britain win the second world war. This movie was also very inspiring since Robert Watts developed radar in the face of adversity and very much to his credit, he was able to overcome many obstacles while under immense pressure. I know that myself and my son left this movie with a 'can- do' attitude. The acting was superb and even though it was a dark time for England, there was some light-hearted scenes which were thoroughly enjoyed by both of us. I can absolutely state that this movie is a good movie that I would highly recommend to others.
A.C.O.D. (2013)
Glad to have watched this movie
I was flicking through the menu for movies last night and came across A.C.O.D. I'm glad that I did. I wasn't expecting much since I had never heard of it. My preference is action and some comedies so this did not appear to be my normal type of movie and I had my finger on the remote ready to change it. Before I knew it, I got caught up in the movie and when it was over, I can honestly say that I had a few laughs and enjoyed the storyline. Jane Lynch is 'echoing' herself by listening to people on couches and she is great at it. All actors were good and if you want to watch a movie that has gravity with some comedy, then go for it.
