Between Heaven and Ground Zero (2012)
Well done documentary
I think this documentary shows very well the experience of a couple of people from the world trade center and how they experienced that day. It focuses on Leslie and how it changed her and the aftermath which, understandably was very tough.
I also loved the mention of, what I believe to be, a miracle. Reassures me that there are angels looking over us.
The documentary didn't really go in depth about the faith thing, although the pastor gets a lot of air time, he doesn't talk about faith per se, but rather talks about Leslie and her experience.
All in all, if you're interested about World Trade Center, I highly recommend this documentary. It is well made without being overbearing on religion.
Heartland: Homecoming (2010)
Quality jump
This review regards to the production of the show: I really noticed a significant improvement in the production of this show starting with this first episode of season 4, compared to the previous 3 seasons.
Makes it look so much nicer.
Also the make-up department seems to have stepped up a bit too.
As for the story-line and the writing it seemed to have stepped up a bit, at least for the first episode.
The new girl that enters the picture really irritated me at first but I was surprised what ended up happening.
8 out of 10
Prom (2011)
Behind the facade of a 'Disney movie'
Is a story, that we've seen many times over. Prom night - guys and girls anxious to get their dates. There's also rejection and betrayal. All packed in a neat Disney way without too much of a fuss, with some bad, mediocre and good acting thrown in together.
I enjoyed the movie. For what it's worth, I kinda knew what to expect so I didn't set my expectations too high. The movie had a good pace to it, it was interesting, albeit predictable (rarely are movies not predictable, even the 'top' ones) and it was good spending those 100 minutes or so with a feel good story.
If you're too picky about movies then you wouldn't even consider watching this movie, I suppose, but for an easy movie, this is it.
Heartland: Letting Go (2008)
Felt real and raw
This one was hard to watch, for me. For some reason all that Amy and Lou were going through, all the resentment and the push-pull were hard to watch, because it kind of reminded me of my sisters and how they would act when they were holding a grudge. Not so much what was said, but the way it was said and the situations. The wanting-ness to convince somebody to have it your way by behaving really badly.. Sounds and looks so familiar and it hit close to home.
I'm sorry, I know this sounds very personal, and it is. The episode brought out some unresolved issues up for me.
But yeah otherwise, they keep it real, was a really tough episode, so because it lacked some humor or spunkiness I rate it 7 out of 10.
I love the title though. Some people end up not speaking for weeks, months or years, because they didn't let go of that resentment, that emotional baggage and once we let go, we first of all free ourselves.
Wow, that was deep.. lol
Smallville: Tempest (2002)
the best
This is one of my favorite episodes. The sense of all coming to an end, the wind that's always blowing preparing you for what's to come.. Clark&Chloe combo works so well, and I really like the period when they're together. I'm a guy and there's just something about Chloe (Allison Mack) that's just very appealing you know. I always find myself rooting for Chloe. And right before they kiss something happens. Damn that was the climax. That should of happened man.. if only for a second. But hey they had to do it interesting and Clark wasn't gonna end up with her anyway. Tornados look awesome. Greg Beeman did this episode of course. He's the man! He directs the best episodes. final verdict: 10/10 a perfect way to end a season
