The Conjuring (2013)
2/10
Huh?
24 November 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Just why was this production given an 'R' rating? I heard a few good things about it, then watched it.

FIRST... I shut it off at 01:13

SECOND... It could have been titled "Kids Sleeping All The Time", or... "Where Are The Children Now", or... "Now There's Several People In Our House At All Hours", or... "My Parents Are Gone (Where?)" ...

THIRD... I didn't watch the last 30 minutes, so didn't witness probably everyone being murdered somehow.

FOURTH... Was it a remake of "Poltergeist"?

FIFTH... Just why did they have like 7 kids, all girls?

SIXTH... Really, there was nothing remotely "creepy" about the 01:13 that I watched.

SEVENTH... I want back that hour and 13 minutes... I could use it.

One hellish ride...
10 July 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I have no reason to give "MAY" anything other than a "10", as it accomplished what very few other movies have: drawn all available emotions out of me in a roller-coaster, maniacal venture like no other! I'll resist any comparison (although-- a mild puree of "Carrie" + "Irreversible" comes to mind)--but I said I'll resist! "MAY" will feast on you, will test you, will worry you, will shock you, will make you laugh, will make you cry. It will make you mad...it will make you wonder...it will force you to question just WHY you watched it in the first place!...(then you'll laugh at yourself for being so sensitive...or possibly-- look at things in a completely different way). That's what moves me, and it will most certainly move you.

"MAY" is an amazing production... enjoy the ride!

Aftermath: A Test of Love (1991 TV Movie)

Read the book, THEN watch this movie...
20 July 2005
Warning: Spoilers
There's no way this movie's content can be understood without first reading the excellent book "Victim: The Other Side Of Murder" by Gary Kinder. Without the book, it's just another late-night yawner on late night cable TV.

I agree with some of the other posts that the robbery/murder scene is disturbing and difficult to watch. Thankfully, it omits a few details that are covered in the book but would be totally unnecessary and exploitive if shown, or referred to, in this film.

Please...read the book, then watch (or re-watch) "Aftermath". I challenge you, then, to not cry like a baby and experience a truly broken heart-- then a sense of hope and love for this very courageous family!

Quite possibly, THE WORST movie...
25 May 2005
...EVER!

This horrific production is a terrifying car wreck bound to traumatize even the most even-keeled.

I have nothing more to say... except... must now bathe in a bleach/vinegar mixture to cleanse myself!

I'm thinking...what "could've been", and what resulted were two totally different entities. The one-hour-thirty-four minutes were agonizing, as I was always waiting for something "to happen", and it never did (there was a brief tease of of a very loving relationship, NOT TO HAPPEN, though!

I suggest you turn off this terrifying journey just about half-way through (or even before that, and not rent it at all).
