Monk: Mr. Monk Gets Stuck in Traffic (2005)
Who thinks this is a 10??
If someone thinks this is a perfect tv episode, they should seriously be banned from IMDb.
Monk spends half torturing a child, not letting her pee. The plot is predictable and obvious as usual.
I agree that Tony S is a fantastic actor and he always delivers, but it doesn't cover for the overall bad writing, which is lazy and fits sitcoms much more than drama-comedies.
At this point, this show has used every trick, it's all repetitive and overly focused on Monk's always-changing set of disabilities. No one behaves in any rational way, they're all mildly incompetent, except Monk, who is both completely incompetent and solves everything, still with zero proof, just story telling.
Monk: Mr. Monk vs. the Cobra (2005)
This episode demonstrates all the problems of Monk
First of all, Monk is a selfish and cheap man who I lose sympathy for with every episode. He expects the world to bend over backwards, and in their own penny. He treats his assistants like crap and completely content. Why would I like such a character?
Second, the general lazy writing that never looks backwards or froward. All of a sudden the LT is a geek who loves martial arts? When did this happen?
Third, the complete lack of minimal consistency about technical issues. They take an x-ray of teeth with everyone still in the room. Really?
Fourth, the overall lazy writing of the series. Monk's issues change constantly. One day a cannot stand one thing, the next time he touches the same stuff without reacting.
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law (2022)
It's a lighter Marvel and it's alrighy
If you actually watch the show, you would realize some of the reviews were written by Intelligencia members. Not every show can be Wandavision, and it's ok.
It's a very easy-going, light and "meta" show. Overall it's entertaining. Don't take it too hard and you'll enjoy it. It comments on legal dramas and female-oriented shows as well as on comics, and it is very funny sometimes.
The biggest miss of the show is Titania. They could have done much more with her. Making her an influencer that really doesn't do much else is, in my opinion, a waste of a possibly cool villain character. Also, teasing Red Hulk and Hulkling and delivering none, while understandable within the show, was still a bit disappointing.
Army of the Dead (2021)
Oh Snyder Snyder
It always seems like Snyder builds his movies from the trailer back. First some cool scenes and then build the movie around. The story is nonsensical as any of his movies. Nothing is subtle, nothing is hinted, every symbolism is thrown in your face. He still cannot figure out how to say something without saying it.
Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga (2020)
Charming
This a small, charming movie. It looks like it was made with love for the Eurovision and really embraces the spirit of the event.
Much like the Eurovision, if you don't take to seriously and embrace it for what it is, you'll enjoy it.
Plus honestly, the songs are nice, kind of versions of the better ones you can find in the contest.
Altered Carbon (2018)
Season 2 is fine
Oh nerd rage... calm down. Season 1 was definitely better, but season 2 is fine. It's a good show all the way through. Well worth sitting through.
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2005)
In a word, boring
I know a lot of people thought this movie is really funny. Well, I really don't. It's boring, not funny and utterly predictable. Some people fell asleep during the movie. I know all you Douglas Adams fans want this movie to succeed, but it's just a bad, bad picture; the acting is unconvincing. Even Allan Rickman and John Malcovich, who are usually brilliant actors, look like someone is pointing a gun at their head the whole time. And about the plot: Nothing happens during the entire movie. they fly around in a video-game-type linear plot, things just happen and there is no logic at all (I don't mean real-world logic but there's no logic in the movie's universe). Just stay away from this movie.
