Bastille Day (2016)

Don't listen to most of these reviews, this is a story of initial judgement and redemption
22 September 2020
Great movie. You might be inclined not to watch it because of all these reviews that state "I DON'T SPEAK FRENCH, AND WITHOUT TRANSLATION I DON'T UNDERSTAND IT!" But you absolutely do not need to understand the French dialogue in order to enjoy this movie! Use your best judgement on the French speaking scenes and you will be okay. Just roll with the punches. Idris Elba does a killer job at playing both good/bad cop. Richard Madden also brings his A game. Such an original storyline gives a great and thrilling movie! It also shines a light on how serious the pressure can be in certain religious groups, even if the main motive isn't religion, but just solely peer pressure from other people. All around, the character building and backstory for everyone involved is 10/10.

A giant puzzle. 10/10
1 June 2020
This show is incredible. It starts out with a mystery. Then each character slowly starts to realize they are a piece of a puzzle to the mystery, but they have no idea where their place is. And the puzzle continues to grow more and more intriguing and complicated. But as a viewer you get to see the whole puzzle slowly come together.

If you are a fan of any mystery/thriller/horror genre then you'll love this show!

Iron Fist (2017–2018)

I honestly don't understand the hate
9 March 2020
I have a tendency to be biased on movies or shows based on their reviews. I was watching the marvel Netflix shows in order of release, and many youtubers and redditors said things like "you should probably just skip iron fist all together" or "let's not talk about that atrocity" or something along those lines. So I did skip it. I got a few episodes into defenders and saw iron fist and thought to myself "oh great, here's this guy" and he was in defenders so much I just stopped watching it. Then about a month later I just decided to give the show a shot and I absolutely love it. It might be my favorite show right under daredevil. If you look at the actual episode reviews instead of the overall reviews you get a more accurate rating. JUST GIVE IT A SHOT! You might like it!

Made me upset.
19 February 2020
This is a documentary about the ABUSE of stimulants. Not about how stimulants can legitimately help people who need them. The thing I'm upset about, is I do have ADD. I take a generic adderall every day to help me get to a normal productivity level. It doesn't make me high, it doesn't make me feel like a super human. It just helps me feel normal. And this documentary barely even touches that aspect.

Its all about people who dont have ADD, taking adderall and hit. it gives them a "high" or helps them go above and beyond. It really almost seems like a commercial for adderall. It focuses on the people who legit abuse it and struggle with addiction of it. They bring in people who crunch numbers all day, Athletes, coders etc. and it just really leaves a bad taste in Your mouth for a drug that literally helps millions ever day, including me.

The Trust (2016)

Great movie. Getting a lot of undeserved hate.
10 April 2019
First half of review contains no spoilers, second half does as sort of a reply to the hate this movie is getting!

Wood and Cage work great together. Both play very believable characters with likable personalities. (Cage is freaking wacky and I love it) The story keeps you on the edge of your seat. It's not typical, but it's definitely one of the best heist movies I've seen. It keeps things believable, and is also as unpredictable as real life can be. Definitely an exciting film with a very good ending. As someone else pointed out in a review, it's not "by the numbers" which was a great way to put it. But I, personally, am sick of predictable feel good endings like that.

SPOILERS!!!!!!!!

Some are saying the movie was great but the ending just completely ruined it! Then proceed to give it a 1 star review. I think this is insane. A movie is a piece of art. Who is to say it must have a feel good happy ending? if i put myself in the shoes of Woods's character, I would have made a lot of the same decisions. From what we know, Cage's character has murdered two people. He is clearly a sociopath, so why wouldn't woods be wary of the idea that he might be using him? Also, he knows that someone with this much money definitely does have the sources to launch an investigation and find them eventually, but Cage forced him to go along with it, not leaving him with a choice. And lastly, he stated that he doesn't know what's going on or where he is. He was overwhelmed by everything that was happening and ultimately decided to try to do the right thing.
