Not nearly as good as the first one.
14 May 2014
I just got done watching 'Ace Ventura' 1 as well as 2 in a row and I must sadly state: I have been disappointed.

Do not get me wrong; I like this movie, but not nearly as much as the first one. Though, gotta give it that: The movie is still pretty funny, which, however, is expected of a comedy movie.

Even though this movie is a tad longer than the first part, I just could not find myself puzzle over the (admittedly rather Indiana-Jones-like) case this time, whereas I had much fun doing that over the case in the first one. Simply put: No suspense whatsoever in this one.

As stated above, though, I did have to laugh quite a few times at the jokes presented in 'Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls', which is not the only good thing (of course). This movie does still have an interesting story, which I believe to be quite surreal compared to the first movie, though that adds some more ridiculous vibe to this comedic title.

Summarizing, there is only one thing left to say: If you solely watch this movie for the comedic purpose, you shall have a great time!

Re-ee-ee-ea-aa-lly good!
14 May 2014
I believe this title, as well as many others of course, to be quite under-rated. Sure, it might not have the very best story, but I cannot seem to find any mere mistakes regarding that matter either.

What I strongly appreciate about the story is that everything actually makes sense; all the clues are stacking up, and the criminal 'aura' adds quite a lot of suspense to it - considering this is a comedy movie anyways.

Another thing I would like to add: What I have written above these lines should not make you believe this is some 'real crime movie' or whatever, no, this movie and its actors (or much rather Jim Carrey in particular) do not quite seem to be taking their job seriously. 'Ace Ventura' is indeed a comedy movie and should not be viewed as anything else. The ending reminded me much rather of a James Bond movie, though.

This movie made me laugh a lot and I was not disappointed by its plot. Well-spent 86 minutes for sure! (Btw, I hope some people get the reference I included in the summary of my review.)

South Park: The Stick of Truth (2014 Video Game)
9/10
Short but funny!
14 May 2014
First off, I am highly surprised you can look up video games on this website since I have just now discovered this since I am still fairly new to IMDb (as an actual user).

Now for the actual review.

Well, what can I say? 'South Park' is and has always been one of my absolute favorite things on this planet. I have enjoyed some of the games in my life (most being flash games), and the N64 game was lots of fun to me, but this one probably tops it all.

The very best parts about this title are the following: references to the show, solid graphics while not lagging at all, funny and witty jokes everywhere, etc. Simply put: South Park. In case you have seen the entire show (or lots of it for this matter), you will get all the references, places, etc. If you have /not/ seen too much of it, you will still consider most of it funny because, well, it is 'South Park' after all!

Story-wise, this game is pretty good as well since it makes sense for the most part and the side-missions (which I did along with playing through the storyline at the very same time, btw.) are pretty fun, too. Though, I have to complain about a few things. This game is /far/ too short: It took me approximately 14 hours to get done with the story and all of its side-missions, which is not even roughly enough. Plus, once you have played through the game, there is nothing left you can do. That is the only reason I 'only' gave it 9/10 stars because the rest is, as stated above, very pleasant.

All in all, I can only recommend playing through the entire game, for it is highly enjoyable!

South Park (1997– )
10/10
Some will love it, others will hate it.
13 May 2014
Ever since I started watching 'South Park' when I was about 9 years old, I have loved it so very much. Yes, I know it is kind of messed up to start watching a show like this as such a young age, but I do not seem to have bared any damage whatsoever.

Anyways. I know plenty of people, especially old folks, who would rather commit suicide than watching this show. Though, I am certain I know more than ten times that amount of people who love it from the bottom of their hearts - including my girlfriend and I. I can understand that it is too much profanity for some people, though, since this show goes further than any other with its humor.

What I personally /love/ about this show is the fact that most if not all episodes carry subliminal messages. Some of those messages are about politics whereas others are about suicidal thoughts. The more you watch it, the more you will understand what I mean. This proves that 'South Park' is, in fact, not a show for simple-minded rednecks, but much rather it is meant to be viewed by an intellectual audience.

This show, with all its profanity, has bestowed me with plenty of joyful years filled with laughter, and believe it or not: I am /going/ to make my children watch this once they turn approximately 12 years old. It is simply too great to not be shared with friends as well as family!

Community (2009–2015)
10/10
Most UNDER-rated show of all time!
13 May 2014
I started watching this show in summer 2013, I believe. At that point I did not expect much as it seemed like any other sitcom at first, but I had soon turned out to be so much more.

Community has become my very favorite show. Hell, it even surpassed 'The Simpsons', 'My Name Is Earl', 'How I Met Your Mother', 'South Park', and so many other shows which were my favorite at some point. Now, I am not claiming this will forever remain my favorite, but it definitely will always be in my heart.

For whatever reason, though, this show seems to be getting much more hate than it deserves, which I simply cannot understand. Whatever though; that will not badmouth this show for me.

It gets surreal most of the time (especially in the seasons after the first one), Abed comes up with lots of movie/TV show references, and you get to see a 'family' grow more and more attached to each other.

A real bummer is, though, that Chevy Chase as well as Donald Glover left the cast - especially since Troy Barnes (Donald Glover) is my favorite character (Abed/Danny Pudi places second, though). Even worse: At the moment it looks like 'Community' will forever be cancelled, which saddens me a lot.

'Community' may not have the biggest fan-base, but it definitely has the most loyal one.

Its own kind of humor...
13 May 2014
A great thing, which is the reason it strongly differs from 'Clerks 1 & 2' (and yes, I am well aware they are not in the same franchise, but I like to compare them since Jay and Silent Bob originated from there), that you get to see much more locations. The story is a little more complex as well - especially compared to the first 'Clerks' movie.

Do not get me wrong; I like this movie. Just, I think all these stoner references are not my cup of tea, as I am a straight edge guy. Though, the rest of the jokes made me laugh quite a lot.

If you have enjoyed 'Clerks', you will love it! Not the best movie out there, but definitely funny.

Family Guy (1999– )
7/10
Obscene as well as hilarious!
13 May 2014
Even though 'Family Guy' tends to be very extreme with its humor, it is certainly one of my favorite cartoons (along with 'The Simpsons', 'South Park', and several other shows) and I enjoy every bit of it.

I am aware this show might offend some people since they possibly consider plenty of the jokes as 'crude', but you can't please everyone, right? Well, this show gets pretty close, though. I, personally, have never experienced a sole human being to complain about 'Family Guy' (*cough* besides its appearances in 'South Park' *cough*), although I know there are enough people out there who aren't capable of taking a joke. My mom, for example, has always disliked my taste in shows.

I digress. If you can take a joke or two which are against an interest, religion, or even an entire race, I can only recommend watching this show!

Clerks (1994)
8/10
A solid comedy!
13 May 2014
Well, one thing I have seen people complain about in the past is the fact that this movie is not in color although it is a rather modern movie - at least compared to /actual/ black and white movies. My girlfriend said she liked the second part, but she cannot watch modern black and white movies, which is why she avoided this one. That part, though, does not bother me.

About its humor, I cannot complain either. This movie made me laugh a lot and I do not regret watching it at all.

The only thing that bothers me a little, which is why I 'only' rated it 8/10 stars is the fact that it a)does not have a solid story, and b)barely shows any places other than the Quick Stop Market (I hope I got the name correct). All in all, though, 'Clerks' is a very good comedy movie!

Clerks II (2006)
9/10
Even better than the first one!
13 May 2014
Warning: Spoilers
The first 'Clerks' movie made me crack up a lot, but this second part -well- this one literally made me cry due to laughter.

The first thing I really appreciate about this movie is the fact that it is /not/ in black and white. It did not bother me about the first one, but I just think you can see things clearer and all.

Another thing about this comedic beauty is that it actually has more of a story than its prequel. And this is where the spoilers hit: Dante actually does something about his (love) life and you do not ever feel as though he is nothing but an empty shell. You actually feel with him - or at least I did.

My favorite scene, though, was the Kinky Kelly part. I lost all my sh*t upon firstly watching that as well as all the other times; literally the only scene to /always/ make me burst out laughing.

If you can handle some obscenity as well as lots of hilarious jokes, this movie is a must-watch for you!

The Simpsons (1989– )
10/10
One of my all-time favorite shows!
13 May 2014
I have been watching 'The Simpsons' ever since I was about 8 years old, though I started watching it actively (just about every day) when I was approximately 10 years old. I am now 18 years old, and to this day, in the year 2014, I have not given up my love for this show. It is still as great as ever!

Well, what can I say? The show has been around since 1989 for a reason. Its humor, which never fails to make me laugh at least a couple of times each episode, tends to be a tad obscene at times, yet it never gets 'out of hand' to a point where I would not allow my (future) children to watch this show.

This must be one of my favorite cartoons as well as one of my favorite shows, and I can only recommend it to everyone else who enjoys excellent comedy. Definitely worth watching!
