Sting (2024)
Better than Shudder's Infested...
Just finished watching Sting (2024)... It's a spider attack horror movie and it's glorious! I felt this was much better than Shudder's Infested because we're dealing with one monster spider from space... It's from the director of the Wyrmwood films and Nekrotronic, Kiah Roache-Turner... His movies are totally badass and if you love his movies, Sting is another classic he made... It stars Ryan Corr from Wolf Creek 2 and Jermaine Fowler from The Blackening has a small role in it... The show stealer in this movie is the little girl Charlotte played by Alyla Browne... The special effects in this film is top notch and it's up there with Arachnophobia in the 90s... One of the best spider attack films and for me it's better than Shudder's Infested...
Abigail (2024)
Another great flick from Radio Silence...
Just finished watching the latest Radio Silence film, Abigail and it's a whole lot of fun... It features Melissa Berrera (Scream 5 & 6), Dan Stevens (The Guest, Apostle), Kathryn Newton (Freaky, Lisa Frankenstein), Kevin Durand (Tragedy Girls, Smokin Aces), Will Catlett, The Late, Great Angus Cloud, Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul), and Alisha Weir as the titular character... The plot is well written and perfectly directed, with some great amount of blood and gore, twists, humor and interesting characters... It's like watching something that is so entertaining and good, it gets better and better by the minute... I highly recommend this flick to anyone who's into good horrors and thrillers or even action flicks... Trust me you won't be disappointed...
Love Object (2003)
Awesome film...
Love Object (2003) is a solid horror thriller starring Desmond Harrington (Wrong Turn and Dexter) who gives an awesome performance as the insanely weird and depressed Kenneth... This movie is so entertaining plus you've a great cast and creepy moments until it goes all insane in the climax... The director does a really good job bringing these characters to life... It starts off normal then it gets a bit crazy and creepy until it gets more and more horrifying and disturbing... I would definitely recommend this film to anyone who's into the psycho subgenre and especially to anyone who's a Desmond Harrington fan...
Dune: Part Two (2024)
Absolutely Epic!!!
Dune : Part Two is an absolute epic film and It's way better than the first one released in 2021... Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Dave Bautista, Stellan Skarsgård, Charlotte Rampling and Javier Bardem are all back, reprising their roles from the first one... The additional new cast features Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, Christopher Walken, Léa Seydoux and Souheila Yacoub... Chalamet's performance here is on fire and Butler is a crazed psychotic villain... The rest of the cast performances are also amazing... The music by Hans Zimmer is beautiful and soothing to hear... We are all very lucky to be here in 2024 to witness this cinematic gem of a film that is an absolute masterpiece... I'm so hungry for a third film that is for sure coming very soon from master Denis Villeneuve in the near future...
Silent Night (2023)
John Woo Is Back!!!
Joel Kinnaman (The Suicide Squad, Sympathy For The Devil) is a madman out for revenge in this silent action thriller called Silent Night... Also starring Catalina Sandino Moreno, Kid Cudi and Harold Torres... It's from John Woo, the director of movies like The Killer (1989), Face/Off (1997), Broken Arrow (1996) and Hard Target (1993) who is a master of films, and he is finally back with a bang! It's an explosive Christmas themed action film with no dialogue, loads of action, violence, battle sequences, car chases, stunts and a beautiful score from Marco Beltrami... Silent Night is a movie that is up there with Die Hard, Violent Night and other action films that will be awesome to see every year during Christmas time... It's definitely a must see for action fans...
Thanksgiving (2023)
The Best Horror Film From Eli Roth!!!
Thanksgiving is a feature-length film adaptation from the Grindhouse fake trailer that every horror fan has been waiting for and wanting for ages, and now after 16 years it's finally been made. It's from Master of Horror Eli Roth who's a passionate horror filmmaker and he's always bringing his best for the horror fans. He is best known for his Hostel films and the original Cabin Fever. I'm a fan of his horror movies, and my favorites are Hostel 2 and The Green Inferno, but I've got to say that Thanksgiving is not only the best horror film of 2023 but also the best horror film from Eli Roth. When you're watching an Eli Roth film you know it's going to be ultraviolent and funny. It pays homage to 80s and 90s slasher features like Friday The 13th, My Bloody Valentine, Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer and many more. It also has the style of Tom Savini's gory kills and Italian 80s Giallo vibes. It's a solid original holiday themed horror with a crazy opening and a shocking climax. Thanksgiving is 1 hour 47 minutes long and it's loaded with extreme violence, an amazing cast, an awesome score, a badass killer, dark humor and creative deaths, some of which are hilarious. It stars Patrick Dempsey, Nell Verlaque, Jalen Thomas Brooks, Gabriel Davenport, Addison Rae, Rick Hoffman, Milo Manheim, Karen Cliche and Gina Gershon. This film has everything a gorehound could ever want and if you're into slasher features then this is the one that you do not want to miss. It's a movie that will put horror fans in the holiday spirit with the newest horror icon John Carver carving up humans in the most brutal fashion. Every year on Thanksgiving I will be watching this masterpiece to celebrate, and I really hope there's a sequel in the near future.
Saw X (2023)
10 out of 10 stars...
Just finished watching the tenth installment in the Saw Franchise and the direct sequel to the original Saw, Saw X (2023)... It's a really well done Saw film with a simple plot and of course twists... There are gory moments as usual in a Saw film but not that much in this one... I wouldn't say it's the least gory Saw film but it's definitely more extreme than Spiral... Overall it's a great film... So awesome to see Tobin Bell and Shawnee Smith back as John Kramer and Amanda... Love to hear the Jigsaw theme again... They even brought back the old Lionsgate logo just to open the film... It's up there with Saw, Saw II, Saw III and Jigsaw for me... 10 out of 10 stars...
Cynthia (2018)
Awesome Creature Feature!
Cynthia is an awesome creature feature horror comedy with amazing special effects written and produced by Girls and Corpses founder and president, Robert Rhine... It's funny, violent and very entertaining... I really loved watching our Horror Hero Captain Spaulding himself, the late, great Sid Haig playing a detective... Also really cool to see Robert Lasardo and a sweet cameo from Horror Icon Bill Moseley... It also features Scout Taylor-Compton, Lynn Lowry and Robert Rhine... If you're looking for some really entertaining horror with great horror stars and legends in it, this one is it... This is also from the directors who brought you Anarchy Parlor back in 2015 with Robert Lasardo...
Home Sick (2007)
This Movie Is So Much Fun!
Before Adam Wingard directed big Hollywood features like Death Note Remake and Godzilla vs. Kong, his first feature was called Home Sick...
Home Sick is an underrated cult classic low budget passionate slasher modern masterpiece... It features Horror Icons Tiffany Shepis bathing in blood as Candice, the late great Tom Towles who's unhinged as Uncle Johnny and Bill Moseley who's crazily hilarious as Mr. Suitcase...
This movie is so much fun, it has everything an old school horror fan would want... Great gore, amazing 80s score from Zombi, crazy and wacky characters and even a demon from hell...
Adam Wingard maybe be working on big budget Hollywood features right now but Home Sick will always be the one that true horror fans will never forget!
God Is a Bullet (2023)
Don't listen to all the hate and ignore all the negative reviews...
Just finished watching God Is A Bullet from the director of Alpha Dog, Nick Cassavetes... and My God this movie is just incredible! Don't listen to all the hate and ignore all the negative reviews... Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Maika Monroe shine in this film... They are both amazing as the lead characters and they really bring out the realistic emotions shown in their performances... This movie doesn't feel slowburn to me, it's more like a rollercoaster ride in a crime drama thriller style with nonstop violence scattered all over the movie, a badass intense climax, a lil bit of romance with a cool soundtrack... I saw the 2hr 35 min version which is the longer one... I can't imagine what scenes in the 2hr version they would want to cut out... Every scene in this movie is great... So, make sure you watch the longer version. You don't want to miss out on anything...
Nihon bundan: Heru doraibâ (2010)
Completely Bonkers!
I just finished watching Yoshihiro Nishimura's Helldriver for the first time and my God it is insanely epic...
Completely bonkers with buckets of blood and loads of gore with funny comedic elements... As I am a big fan of the filmmaker's 2008 film called Tokyo Gore Police, this one is definitely up there with it and it doesn't dissapoint...
Eihi Shiina returns in Nishimura's flick but this time as Rikka, a cruel wicked psychopathic mother who turns into a flesh eating queen of zombies; giving us an amazing performance...
Yumiko Hara plays Kika, the slayer of zombies, slasher of evil and she is by far one of the baddest women in action and horror...
If you're a fan of Machete, Kill Bill, or Planet Terror, you're gonna love this because it feels like all those films I mentioned is mashed up into one steroid of a movie...
This film is definitely one of the cheesiest action horror movies with splatterfest written all over it... It features a great cast, trust me if you're looking for some underrated cult gore masterpiece, this is it... It will satisfy any gorehound on the planet...
Renfield (2023)
Just A Bloody Good Time!
Renfield is one of the most fun horror comedy movies I've seen in a long time and it's jammed with action packed scenes in a fast paced way with nonstop ultraviolent gory scenes with comedic elements, a spice of romance and just a bloody good time... Nicholas Hoult is heroic, weird and funny as the titular character... Nicolas Cage rules and he is insanely crazy, scary and super cool as Dracula, the show stealer of the entire film... Jenna Kanell from Damien Leone's Terrifier is also in it... Also sweet cameo from the one and only Stretch from Tobe Hooper's Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, Horror Icon Caroline Williams...
John Wick: Chapter 4 (2023)
Movie Of The Year!
My God! I just got back from a movie theatre and man! Oh man! John Wick : Chapter 4 is the best sequel of the series and one of the greatest action films ever made! You've got so many amazing stars, awesome fight scenes and stunts with a straight up simple plot that is kill or be killed in its absolutely biggest way in this spectacular sequel... Keanu Reeves is always the show stealer as its titular character with his badass performance and stunts... Ian McShane, Laurence Fishburne and the late, great Lance Reddick reprise their roles and as usual they were great... Also I've got to say the new cast of the John Wick franchise, Donnie Yen, Bill Skarsgård, Scott Adkins, Clancy Brown, Hiroyuki Sanada and the rest of them were all awesome as well... So far I feel this is my number 1 movie of the year... If you're already a John Wick fan, you're gonna be mindblown in your seats and if you're not, trust me, you're gonna be a fan soon...
Infinity Pool (2023)
A Wild Masterpiece!
Brandon Cronenberg's Infinity Pool is a one way trip to the most hellish and bizarre vacations ever with drugs, sex and gore... The violence and sexuality in this film is extremely explicit... Alexander Skarsgård gives a very great performance in the emotions he is showing as his character but Mia Goth shines in this film... She is off the wall as crazy as they come... I feel this is one of the most shocking and weirdest sci-fi horror films I have ever seen with great special effects, 80s artsy disco like scenes, amazing soundtrack, nonstop craziness from the main characters... So far this is the best feature of 2023... Salute to the entire cast and crew for making a really wild masterpiece that will be talked about for years and years...
Venus (2022)
Hell of an intense flick!
Venus is directed by one of the directors of the REC films, Jaume Balagueró... It's an intense epic supernatural action horror film with crime, buckets of blood, cheesy scenes, witches, gangsters, an innocent little girl and just a whole lot of fun... This movie cannot be taken seriously... There are scenes that made me go WTF... But then again it's just a film and again it's not meant to be taken seriously...
Just go with the flow and enjoy one hell of an intense ride... Hell of a performance by Ester Expósito as Lucía! I really enjoyed this film so much and I would love to see more movies like Venus from Jaume Balagueró!
Fender Bender (2016)
Awesome Slasher Film!
2016's Fender Bender is an awesome slasher film written and directed by Mark Pavia who made Stephen King's The Night Flier back in 1997 and this is his first film ever since then... I feel Mark did an amazing job making a cult classic slasher movie with a great villain and a perfect soundtrack... You do not want to miss this if you're into cool villains and slasher flicks... Awesome performances from the cast especially Bill Sage who plays the madman known as The Driver and Makenzie Vega who plays Hilary... Also, a great cameo from Steven Michael Quezada... Damn! I would really love to see a sequel to Fender Bender...
Pearl (2022)
Easily One Of My Favorite Films!!!
Ti West's Pearl is easily one of my favorite films and it's in my top 3 of year 2022...
It's a prequel to Ti West's X and it's the second installment in the series which was also released in the same year... I felt that Pearl is a better movie than X because of the backstory of the villain known as the titular character... Mia Goth not only reprises her role as Pearl but also co-wrote the film and she absolutely gives the greatest performance of her life... She is so phenomenal as she shows the batsh#t craziness of her character...
I felt Mia Goth should at least get nominated for Best Actress in the Oscars this year but we all know great films like these will never ever be in the Oscars... Anyways I can see Mia being an Oscar winner in the near future... Am so excited and I seriously cannot wait for the third installment which is called MaXXXine and Mia says it's going to be the biggest and best of the film's series...
Terrifier 2 (2022)
My No. 1 Horror Movie From 2022!!!
Last year was such a huge year for horror and my no. 1 horror movie from 2022 is Damien Leone's Terrifier 2!!! Horror icon David Howard Thornton is back as the menacing maniacal gruesome killer Art The Clown and in this chapter he is not alone... He is accompanied by a sinister entity in the form of a little girl in a similar clown attire who is known as The Little Pale Girl and she is played by the awesome Amelie McLain...
Now, normally in horror films, I always root for the villains but in this sequel I also feel like rooting for the heroine ... Sienna Shaw is the final girl and she is a totally badass character with a gladiator like attire and her role is amazingly played by the great Lauren LaVera... This sequel is really big and I mean really big which equates with sequels like 'Aliens, Terminator 2, The Godfather Part II', the sequels known to be better than the originals...
The movie is 2 hours plus and it's loaded with tons of gory goods and kills, a great cast, a blissful 80s like soundtrack and a badass showdown between good and evil that we all thought we would see in Halloween Ends...
In my books, Damien Leone has already earned his name as a great horror filmmaker by creating one of the best slashers in the horror universe but, with this sequel he truly is a master of horror and a visionary of extreme cinema...
If you are a true horror fan then you already know that Art The Clown is the new face of horror... Just can't wait for Part 3!!!
The Munsters (2022)
A Movie For The Entire Family...
First of all, I'm a fan of Rob Zombie, and I haven't seen the original 1960s The Munsters show or films. But now I feel like I need to watch it because Zombie's version is one campy and colorfully spooky comedy, a perfect movie to watch during Halloween season for the entire family... Sheri Moon Zombie, Jeff Daniel Phillips, and Daniel Roebuck were all amazing... Also, awesome performances from Richard Brake and Cassandra Peterson... The special makeup, set pieces, and the soundtrack were also amazing... Finally, a film by Rob Zombie that I can watch with my Mom and we both loved it. I hope to see more of The Munsters from Rob, and I will also be hunting for the original Munsters on home video...
The Black Phone (2021)
Wow! What a movie!
Wow! What a movie! Dark performance from Ethan Hawke... The Black Phone is an awesome straight up horror thriller... It's definitely up there with Scott Derrickson's Sinister and Hellraiser : Inferno...
Black Friday (2021)
Really enjoyed this film...
I have to say I really enjoyed this film... It's a really great horror comedy packed with great actors, awesome special effects and just a hell lot of fun... It's great to see amazing horror icons like Devon Sawa (Anton from Idle Hands) and Bruce Campbell (Ash from The Evil Dead franchise) doing what they always do best... Also amazing special effects from FX Legend, Robert Kurtzman... Just remember folks, It's a horror comedy for God's sake and not a biography crime drama... I have seen 83 movies this year and this movie is right up my list at no. 12... Like I said it's a horror comedy and it's not meant to be taken seriously... Just have fun with it and you'll enjoy...
V/H/S/94 (2021)
Ignore the bad reviews...
I seriously don't understand why people are hating this movie... Seriously this is one of the best horror anthologies I have ever seen... It's not really scary as the first two VHS films but still it's great... This movie is so entertaining from start to finish and it's insanely gory... If you're a fan of the first two films, you're going to love this movie, trust me... Ignore the bad reviews... My favorite segment is got to be The Subject and it's directed by Timo Tjahjanto who is one of the two behind everyone's favorite segment from VHS 2...
Prisoners of the Ghostland (2021)
Prisoners Of The Ghostland is one weird film...
Prisoners Of The Ghostland is one weird film... It's more like a cinematic arthouse film with a mixture of genres and a crazy performance from Nicolas Cage ... Don't expect a lot from the movie... It's just one ride that is funny and bizarre...
Superhost (2021)
A new horror icon is born and her name is Rebecca!
This movie is one of the best horror movies of the year! Really great performances from the cast but I got to say, salute to Gracie Gillam for stealing the entire show with her absolutely crazy Oscar worthy performance! A new horror icon is born and her name is Rebecca! I would kill to see a sequel!
Escape from L.A. (1996)
Cult Classic!!!
Escape From LA is one of the most greatest action film of the 90s and it's such a fun sequel... It's a cult classic extravaganza with a fully loaded cast... You've got Bruce Campbell, Pam Grier, Steve Buscemi, Peter Fonda, Stacy Keach... Kurt Russell is back and it doesn't matter if there's going to be a remake in the near future because there's absolutely no one... I repeat... No one who can replace Kurt Russell as Snake Plissken...
