Horrible...Bad Acting ...poor suspense...
6 July 2009
OK i was duped into seeing this movie by the huge amount of positive reviews i read about this movie here.....after seeing the movie...i have no doubt the reviews were either 1)put on here by people working for the studio/producers to sell more dvds or 2)a lot of people have really poor taste in movies and lack the intelligence to think through a story

Someone here even compared it to Usual Suspects, huh u kiddin me....this movie started out alright but the suspense was just too obvious...Rebecca Pidgeon is absolutely terrible and she clearly got the part coz she is the wife of the director...even someone as good as steve martin is wasted....the story may sound great as a plot but is just played out so poorly and seems the movie is made out for 10-15 yr olds....surely only kids would get thrilled by this and any adult can get see the twist coming from a mile away...better avoid....

Excellent movie....

Just finished watching this and I must say i am glad i saw it...Many viewers have commented that the movie is very slow paced, esp to start with but i disagree.I think the director got the pacing spot on.

The movie is about an ex-con played by Paul walker who is trying to start a new life and make it good for himself and his family but fate has other plans and he is pushed back into the world he is so badly trying to escape...soon we find out that nothing is wat it seems and the movie is thrilling all the way..

All the actors do justice to their roles and the screenplay is tight and gripping....its a nice thriller with a lot of emotions as well....Paul walker is getting type-cast but i guess thats because he is so good at these kinda movies/roles....

all in all a movie worth your time and money and i would certainly recommend it......8/10

Very good, Sensitive , Humorous Movie
2 December 2005
The first thing that stands out in this movie is the performances by all the actors. The credit should of course go to the director but the cast is very well chosen and they all do more than justice to their roles.

It is a story of a young Muslim girl in France, who rebels against her male dominated society and tries to become someone. She has to face many hard-ships and obstacles in the process though. The movie also showcases the life of a french family and their own struggle to come to terms with themselves and their life. all this is presented in a very humorous tone. The viewers will laugh at the right time, enjoy the humour but importantly at the same time , they will not miss the underlying irony of things. One never loses touch of the struggle and the tribulations of the characters involved.

after a long time I have seen a movie, which unlike most movies dished out by the Hollywood studios these days, does'nt just concentrate either on the commercial aspect or is just made to satisfy the critics and do well at the Oscars. This movie just proves that with honest, dedicated work and the right(talented) people knowing , what they are doing, a Great movie can be made with a limited budget.

I would recommend this to everyone who want some entertainment as well as not feel they have just wasted their 2 hours.
