Blue Beetle (2023)
This is why Marvel has the upper hand
1. You might think this is a Marvel feature. It is not.
2. The SFX are not wat we could expected these days.
3. Sometimes DC excels with a great story line. This movie doesn't.
4. Absolutely not sequel/prequel/anything worthy.
As a Marvel fan I can sometimes appreciate a DC movie. However: this script is even worse than the latest Thor movie, acting is awful and the CGI is at most outdated.
This movie seems trying to lift on the success of the Spiderman continuous universe. But when you try this, do it better. I recommend DC to focus on well written, decent and (they're good at it), some darker superhero movies.
La promesse (2020)
Unexpectedly well done!
Influenced by the, in my opinion, relatively low rating (7.0/10 out of 116 ratings at Aug 28 2021), this series positively surprised me in quite a few matters: reasonable plot (not a whodunit but about the hunt on a horrible child kidnapper), as well as the acting. Very good camera work and direction and some fine music. Exiting and tensive till the end... A recommendation to everyone who likes a solid and firm thriller.
Fear Street: 1666 (2021)
Not as good as the first two...
Less scary moments, not a very good storyline (in particular the 1666 part) but still an okay movie to watch. Good settings and pretty decent acting. 6/10 for me.
Vliegende Hollanders (2020)
Surprisingly well done!
As a Dutchman and a movie fanatic I had some serious doubts about this project. Most of the times these productions are (very) low budget. This, however, seems to be an exeption! Well written, well acted and a very good storyline. Even the special effects (not a lot of CGI, but where done it is done properly) are worth to watch☺
I would say: if you want to watch a pretty accurate story about the beginning of aviation (remember that KLM was the first commercial airliner in the world) this might be something for you.
Gemini Man (2019)
Riddiculous plot
I cannot understand why Smith signed this movie... The plot is riddiculous, where did they het this writer??
